"Young man, you better move out of my way right this instant. I don't care how rich you are, this is kidnapping at this point," Mr. Khan stood in front of his house with packed bags, talking to an overworked Yangdi and his men who were blocking his way.
"Dad!" Sam ran out of the house and stood behind Mr. Khan, glaring daggers at the men in front.
Mrs. Khan, Kay, Olivia, and Emilie were watching from inside the house with worried expressions. Maaz had been called in for duty so he wasn't there.
"Sir, please try to understand, it is all for your own good. You know what's going on with the media, it's not safe going out there on your own," Yangdi said pleadingly. Short of getting on his knees and begging, he had tried everything but Mr. Khan was not budging an inch.
"I will handle what's out there myself. I don't even know you, why are you trying to help us? Listen here Mr. Yangdi, money can't buy you everything. This has gone on long enough, please get out of the way!"
This time Mr. Khan didn't wait for a response and lightly pushed Yangdi to the side, but to his surprise, the man felt like he was made out of cotton. He had no weight at all and with just a light push from a mortal man like himself, he fell down on his back.
Mr. Khan quickly dropped the bags that were in his hands and tried to help him up but one of the guards that were standing behind Yangdi stepped forward with the vigor of a lion and with one hand lifted Mr. Khan up in the air from his collar.
"You filthy earthling! My master is trying to help you and this is how you repay him?!"
This guard was one of the many that Yangdi had recently employed. He was able to cultivate till Origin Realm stage 1 before he turned 18 and now he was at Stage 6 at the age of twenty.
This obviously wasn't considered to be an exceptional talent but he was still above average.
He was about 1.8 meters tall and with a rather handsome profile. This along with Yangdi's occasional praise was enough to have made him somewhat...arrogant.
He knew Yangdi was an up and coming businessman and a very important figure that had connections with almost every major player. So to show his and willingness, he tried to take the matters to sin his own hands.
His grip tightened and Mr. Khan's face quickly changed color. He tried to speak but the guard's grip was chocking him. He repeatedly tapped onto the man's arm but he wouldn't let go.
"LET GO YOU-"
Sam tried to step in but from just a light kick from the guard, he was sent tumbling away.
Mrs. Khan ran out of the house followed by the others.
Yangdi who was being helped up by three guards almost had a heart attack when he saw what was happening.
For the last few days he had been going from one meeting to another, not even getting any sleep in the last 60 hours so suffice to say, he was dead tired both mentally and physically.
That's why Mr. Khan was able to send him down to the ground like that. Even a strong breeze was enough to topple him over at this point.
"Let. Go!" Yangdi yelled in such a deep voice that startled the guard.
Yangdi was always extremely calm so him getting so angry was a shock not just to him but the other three guards and the 2 spirit realm cultivators that were pretending to be the Khan's neighbors as well.
The guard faltered and loosened his grip, letting Mr. Khan slump to the ground where Mrs. Khan and the others caught him.
"B-But sir, he push-" the guard tried to defend his actions but Yangdi cut him off.
"Kneel! Kneel and beg for forgiveness!"
"E-Eh?" the guard stood there with wide eyes, not believing what he had just heard. Yangdi wanted him, an Origin Realm cultivator to get down on his knees and beg for forgiveness from a mortal man?
A mere earthling to boot?!
"Do it quick! Before he arrives!" Yangdi urged, looking left and right.
The guard looked at him and then at Mr. Khan who was still on the ground trying to catch his breath, surrounded by all his family. There were red marks around his neck.
The man was already more than 50 years old so this obviously would affect someone like him more.
"N...No. Why should I? He is nothing! Why should I beg for his forgiveness?"
The vein on Yangdi's forehead almost popped out listening to the guard's comment but the next second he let out a deep sigh and stepped back.
"It's too late already..." he mumbled.
"Too late?" the guard repeated in confusion but soon got an answer.
As Yangdi moved to the side and looked towards the street, all the guards followed his line of sight.
There at the edge of the street, a few silhouettes came into view. 1, 2....6, six of them in total.
They stood shoulder to shoulder, blocking the entire 15 meters wide street. As they came closer everyone got a better view. All of them were wearing hoods that covered them entirely.
The only thing that could be found out was their height which other than one, all the rest were towering figures.
In the front was a man with a black horned mask.. Everything other than his eyes which were emerald green was covered and shining in the dark night.
