Death… And Me

Chapter 3918: Coincidence?

Chapter 3918: Coincidence?

Initially, it was the same as everyone; she was only one of those who were hit by the white light. However, the eye quickly stopped, now focusing on her. Then, the golden light came from the Judgemental Eye in the next second.

What followed wasn’t just a faint golden light around Wisfreya’s body. Instead, it was a lot more intense, catching the eyes of everyone around.

Hlock looked at that, his eyes opened wide. He wasn’t the only one. Not many believed they would see that kind of intensity here.

Hlock couldn’t help but exclaim. "Brilliant Halo!"

Everyone from the Verjansy Country was confused, looking at Hlock and waiting for an explanation.

Hlock noticed he lost his composure and quickly explained. "There are five levels of Golden Light Intensity when the Judgemental Eye tests you. That guy earlier only achieved the first level, Flickering Radiance. The next level is Steady Luminescence. However, that girl... her level is actually the third one, which is called Brilliant Halo."

Wisfreya would be lying if she said she didn’t expect herself to get the Golden Light. Still, she didn’t have time to speak about it. The golden light and the Divine Energy gathered around her, just like it had happened to the guy earlier. Then, her body shot up like a bullet, quickly disappearing in the direction of the Military Academy.

’Hey, golden girl,’ Rean’s Divine Sense reached her on the way. ’Did you feel anything when the eye tested you?’

Wisfreya’s mouth twitched. ’Who the hell are you calling golden girl? Also, I did feel something, some kind of energy, with a sensation similar to a very strong Divine Sense, but different. I’m not su-’

Unfortunately, Wisfreya’s message was cut, and she disappeared on the Floating Island. The structure obviously had anti-Divine Sense features.

Rean sighed and gave up. There wasn’t much they could do. ’Well, in the worst case, we can just flee and try something different next time.’

Even though the commotion was big, it didn’t mean the city stopped moving forward, nor did the participants hold back. They were all still flying with all their might in the floating city’s direction, some already starting to feel the fatigue of constant use of Divine Energy.

Hlock ignored that, taking his CD out and contacting his Galantes country. A Brilliant Halo youngster was just too important; only a few tens appeared every year, and his own country hadn’t had one in almost a decade. Wisfreya was now registered as part of their Galantes Country, so he obviously had to report it.

Too bad that was just the first one.

*Ziu!*

A minute later, it caught Zangeshu!

The golden light followed, with the same intensity as Wisfreya’s, and another Brilliant Halo was recognized.

Everyone once again took notice, especially since Zangeshu came from the same group as Wisfreya earlier. The old experts from other countries who came with their youngsters couldn’t help but curse inwardly. Galantes didn’t have one, but actually two Brilliant Halo prospects! They must have used all the luck the country would have for the next thousand years!

’I’m going ahead,’ Zangeshu wasn’t very interested in any of that, though. He also wasn’t surprised at all. He always considered himself a genius anyway. ’Also, it doesn’t seem like this thing can reveal our real cultivation. I don’t know what it is checking, but cultivation is definitely not it.’

Rean, Roan, and the others nodded. They had paid close attention to Zangeshu since he was in the Space-Time Realm. Now that Zangeshu confirmed it did not touch on the cultivation side of their existences, then it shouldn’t be a problem.

Meanwhile, Hlock had a very interesting expression. "Holy shit! Two Brilliant Halos!"

He now looked at the Verjansy Country with a different eye. He knew about the special conditions of the Green Cluster, how it was a region that took everything away from the surrounding areas. Now he was wondering if it affected the potential of those who were born there. He could have accepted it if the Verjansy Country’s group was actually a gathering of the geniuses of the entire Panpasin Continent. However, they were truly just a bunch of youngsters from a single country! Well, most of them, at least...

Twenty seconds later, the light hit Tanxan, and another golden light followed. It wasn’t a Brilliant Halo this time, though. It was actually the second level, Steady Luminescence. Still, it was a level two Golden Light, which was still amazing!

’Sure enough, I am the one with the lowest talent,’ Tanxan said through Divine Sense. ’Oh well, I’ve never been the battle type anyway, so who cares?’

’See you later,’ Rean and Kentucky answered him.

Tanxan was also pulled up.

The next was Foliana, and sure enough, things changed with her. The girl’s Red Lightning Hawk Bloodline, in addition to the Blood Reformation Pill she took all those years ago, truly showed her potential now. Let’s not forget that the Blood Reformation Pill was something from the Celestial Soul System.

The Golden Light emanating from her was bright to a much higher degree than that of Wisfreya and Zangeshu.

"The fourth level, Dawnflare Brilliance..." Hlock already gave up using his CD to report the situation. It was better to simply wait and see if there would be more of these ridiculous kids popping up before doing that.

Well, he might not be doing it, but the various elders from the other countries around definitely did. They kept telling what was happening here, and most of them received answers, wondering if they were hallucinating.

Of course, it was no hallucination, and things were getting quite lively in the floating island at the moment as well. Too bad the twins hadn’t appeared there yet to see it.

’What do you think it will be for us?’ Kentucky asked.

Rean shrugged. ’It is either very good, or downright terrible.’

’Uh?’ Kentucky was confused. ’Why?’

’Because we have Celestial Bloodlines. Now, would that eye artifact be able to see it? To see its potential? Chances are, it has never truly seen a Celestial Bloodline before, so there is a good chance that you, me, Roan, and Celis will be seen as nothing more than common experts.’

Kentucky had to admit that Rean’s words made sense.

After Foliana, the Judgemental Eye continued, still shooting various rays of white light. Then, as if by coincidence, four lights hit the remaining four members of the twins’ group at once.

Coincidence? Ha! What a joke! The twins were absolutely sure the fucking destiny attraction shit was the reason behind it!

Well, it mattered not, as they would all be tested sooner or later anyway.

The eye on the Floating Island stopped once more. But then...

*Crack...*

It broke!

Everyone looked at the eye, their jaws almost dropping all the way to the ground. Their eyes then turned in the twins’ group direction, not knowing what to say.

Rean felt like crying. He expected either a huge golden radiance or no light at all. He absolutely didn’t expect the Judgemental Eye to break when it focused on his group. "Errr... Does anyone have eye drops?"
