Chapter 3907: We Should Leave
"So, let’s see... The Bonelands are attacking the southeast, which no one finds surprising," Rean was speaking to Roan in the Celestial Dimensional Realm. "This kind of thing happened countless times in the past, with various degrees of success and failures, but nothing that one couldn’t imagine. Yet, here you are, intending to leave this region straight away. Why?"
Roan looked at everyone there. Of course, Wisfreya wasn’t present since she only enters the Dimensional Realm during the time Rean needs her blood or soul. "Because they aren’t coming alone. You just need to look at the information available in the network to predict the outcome easily."
Rean looked at Sister Orb. "Is that so?"
[Errr...] Sister Orb immediately accessed the network and looked at everything regarding this situation there. Yet, she couldn’t find anything out of the norm. [Maybe?]
Rean’s mouth twitched. "That’s the same as saying you don’t know. I thought the processing power of the system had received a big upgrade, and it should make things easier for you, no?"
[Listen, I can’t find any clues in the network, alright? I truly can’t see where Roan found out that the Bonelands invasion is just the start of something bigger.]
Roan wasn’t there to convince them. "If you can’t see it, that’s not my problem. The higher-ups of the Green Cluster Alliance don’t seem to have noticed it either, which is one more reason for us to leave."
Zangeshu couldn’t help but ask. "But... if we are here to make a name for ourselves, shouldn’t this be the perfect opportunity?"
Roan shook his head in response. "The Green Cluster Alliance will be gone once this is over. Still, this is not something that will happen straight away. Sister Orb, keep an eye on the Werdlem Network. There should be a lot of information regarding various other borders getting ready for an invasion pretty soon."
[Do you mean a coalition attack?]
"Yes," Roan nodded.
[That makes even less sense now,] Sister Orb said. [The Green Cluster has been attacked by all the regions around it in the past. Coalitions trying to take some of the land of the Green Cluster isn’t anything new. Yet, even though some land was lost in the past, the Green Cluster Alliance always persevered. Eventually, because of their much higher concentration of resources, they always took back the lands they lost. Even if there is a coalition attack coming, that shouldn’t be a reason for us to flee this place.]
"Hmph!" Roan snorted. "If that was all, I obviously wouldn’t have cared. Forget it. I’ll explain it from the start. First, tell me, which are the other groups that border the Green Cluster Alliance?"
Sister Orb already had the answer. [There is a total of five. In the north, you have the Marsh Lands, a group consisting of 22 continents. To the northeast and east, you have the Ore Continental Conglomerate, that one with 17 continents in its books, often joining hands with the Marsh Lands for other purposes.]
She continued. [Then you obviously have Bonelands in the southeast, the ones attacking the Green Cluster this time. The continents in that part are pretty barren, a total of 31 of them. Of course, even though I say it’s barren lands, it is still quite good due to the A1 Universe concentration of Energies. Anyone living in the Central Area of the Realm of Gods back in our Lisan Universe would give anything to move to this Bonelands, such is the difference between our Universes.]
[But compared to the Green Cluster Alliance, it does indeed feel like nothing but a bunch of barren lands with few resources. Sigh... what our Lisan Universe wouldn’t give to have such barren lands... Our Realm of Gods would be considered nothing but shit in comparison.]
[In the southwest and western borders, we find the Sea World Continents, which are primarily inhabited by Sea Demon Beasts. This region has a small amount of land, even when considering the combined areas of all 14 continents in that group. Among the five groups surrounding the Green Cluster, the Sea World is the smallest in terms of continental size and numbers, yet it is regarded as the strongest one, apart from the Green Cluster itself. However, because it is mainly populated by Sea Demon Beasts, there are very few attempts to enter the Green Cluster. Although the Green Cluster offers many resources, the lack of oceans makes it less appealing to the Sea World Demon Beasts.]
[Finally, you can find the Storm Grounds Alliance in the Northwest. This one has a total of 25 continents in its books. That area is quite harsh, as the environment is conducive to constant, powerful storms, especially in a Universe with such a huge concentration of Divine and Divine Origin Energies. As you can imagine, Lightning Affinity experts are pretty common there.]
[That’s it, those are the five groups.]
"Good." Roan had already checked it. "Now, the crux of the issue does not lie in these five groups, but in the reason behind the Green Cluster Existence. All five powers around the Green Cluster look pretty terrible in comparison, would you all agree? How can such a rich land exist right in the middle of it all? Shouldn’t it be a more spread correlation?"
Rean and the others nodded. It did look somewhat strange. Back in the Realm of Gods, it was normal to see such a brusque change in the environment when you went from one continent to another. However, that was because the Realm of Gods had the Continental Barriers, which completely separated the continents from one another. After many years, the continents had obviously developed their own unique environments, as the continental properties of the neighboring continents did not influence them at all.
Here in the A1 Universe, there are no such barriers separating the continents. The borders are truly nothing more than imaginary lines that the powers controlling them set down who knows how many years ago. That said, the continents should have some degree of environmental seamlessness. Having a sharp change in environment might be possible in some specific areas, but not to such a ridiculous degree that everyone around the Green Cluster was so different without exception.
Tanxan was the first one to notice the problem. "Wait, you are saying that the Green Cluster is the cause for all the areas around it to be in such a terrible state?"
[That’s actually already a well-known issue,] Sister Orb complemented. [It would take forever for me to explain why it happens, so I won’t. If you are interested, go research it yourselves later. The point is, this is nothing new, and also one of the reasons why the surrounding powers want to enter and live in the Green Cluster. There is also this feeling of the Green Cluster living a good life at their cost, even if this is not something created by anyone, but a natural occurrence of this region of the Divine Realm.]
"That’s pretty much it," Roan continued from there. "However, this phenomenon... It’s starting to affect the other areas even further away from the Green Cluster."
"What?!" Everyone was taken aback. "Sister Orb!"
[Oh, for fuck’s sake! Can’t you guys give it a try first before coming straight to me? The network is available for all of you to use, you know?]
"Then... what good would you have?" They asked back with serious expressions.
[Fuck you! I have many more uses than simple network researching!]
Everyone continued looking at the orb, a silence spreading far and wide...
[Fine! I’ll take a look!]
This time, Sister Orb expanded the scope of her research, utilizing most of the system’s processing power. A few minutes later, she came up with the report.
[Alright, it does seem like the further away areas are indeed starting to be affected. However, there is no evidence that the Green Cluster is the cause, and there are very few reports regarding this issue. I had to look pretty deep to even find them.]
"And there you have it," Roan spoke with confidence. "It’s not that there are few reports, but that most of the reports have been deleted or deliberately kept out of the network. The further away areas are pretty sure the Green Cluster is the reason. If I were them, I would absolutely think so."
"Then, why go so far to conceal all the clues? Because they have no intention to sit tight and wait to see the Green Cluster transform their own areas into shit. I can guarantee it to you. Once the Green Cluster notices that all five Powers around are attacking them, the other areas will be there too. At that moment, it will be too late. The next coalition attack will not have just the five groups around, and their 109 continents. It will definitely have over 500 of them. The Green Cluster Alliance will be trampled like shit."
Roan looked serious. "Their objective this time should be pretty obvious. No such thing as conquering the Green Cluster Lands for their own use. If it were me, I would invade with the intention of ending whatever causes the Green Cluster to be the Green Cluster. Complete destruction is all that awaits this Alliance. Thus, we should leave."
