Death… And Me

Chapter 3901: Won’t Take Long

Chapter 3901: Won’t Take Long

’Wisfreya, you know what to do,’ Rean called her.

Wisfreya nodded, and she jumped on Kentucky’s head, staying closest to the front.

Rean and Roan took positions on the left and right wings, pulling their swords backward as energy accumulated inside.

Just as they were about to encounter the other three teams, Kentucky flapped his wings in the opposite direction, and he quickly stopped in the air.

The three teams saw that and understood. Kentucky intended to turn back and fly away again. However, the other teams were also coming after them from behind, so going back wouldn’t be a good decision for the twins’ group.

Nonetheless, those three teams accelerated, just in case the twins’ group was planning to do something. They all raised their weapons and circulated their energies and elements. If Kentucky fled, that was fine; if not, they would take the twins’ team down here. The best would be to kill three members, which would disqualify them. The idea of having Wisfreya out of the picture excited them.

However, just as those teams were about to catch the twins’ group, Kentucky flapped his wings again with all the power of a Core and Soul Fusion Realm demon bird. Then, he flew straight at those three teams head-on!

One might be thinking: Why did Kentucky stop at all? He was already flying in their direction, so wasn’t that stop meaningless? The answer was no, it wasn’t meaningless. When he did not flee and actually flew straight at them in the last moment, that took those groups by surprise, even if for just a moment. That was all Rean, Roan, and Wisfreya needed.

’Death Style, Stellar Piercer!’

’Death Style, Stellar Piercer!’

Rean and Roan immediately used their best ranged attack. Well, the ’best’ one for that ’cultivation’ of theirs. Their target? The right and left-most members of the enemy teams on the right and left sides.

’Aether Crystallization!’

Wisfreya didn’t hold back either, and hundreds of much bigger crystals took form, shooting in the direction of the center-most team.

Of course, those teams immediately reacted, but how could they match Rean and Roan? The twins might not have used any power beyond what a Core and Soul Fusion Realm could, but that was definitely more than enough for them.

*Pft, pft!*

*arrgghh!*

One attack each, one target struck down on both right and left sides. Rean and Roan selected those two targets because they could tell those two youngsters would be the ones less likely to dodge.

As for the center-most team, their leader and two other members of his team struck Wisfreya’s crystals, destroying them in the process. At the same time, the other seven members of their team attacked the twins’ group! Not only them, but also the rest of the members from the left and right teams.

However, it was then that Zangeshu, Tanxan, Foliana, and Celis acted. They immediately jumped ahead and countered those attacks as various explosions followed in the space between the twins’ group and their enemies.

*Boom, boom, boom, boom!*

The chaos caused the center team to stop for a second, but they quickly recovered. Wisfreya’s attack failed, and they had the numbers advantage.

*Ugh!*

*Arrrrrghh!*

Yet, out of nowhere, three members of that team suddenly fell from the skies. If one looked at them closely, one could see countless tiny holes in their bodies.

"Burst!"

Wisfreya showed no mercy! The crystals inside those guys’ bodies suddenly burst, and so did their bodies. That was exactly the same attack Wisfreya used back in the Labyrinth, and now she was showing it again! When she shot the big crystals earlier, she wanted the enemies to destroy them. It caused the tiny crystals of the aftermath to disperse everywhere around them, and she controlled her Aether Energy to target three of their members.

Truth be told, she wanted to take down the entire center team. Unfortunately, three enemies were her limit now that her cultivation was suppressed to the Core and Soul Fusion Realm.

*Zush, zush, zush, zush, zush, zush, zush...*

As soon as those three guys died, the other seven disappeared with a flash of Silver Light. As stated by Bugel before the start, if a team loses three members, they would be disqualified. That’s why they disappeared.

Everyone watching from the city below or through the online stream was amazed by that. However, their attention quickly shifted. Wisfreya only managed to take care of a single group. What about the other two? They were still there...

*Bzzzz!*

Or so they should. Too bad, though. Kentucky flew past them, right through the middle, and none of them did anything. Actually, they weren’t looking at Kentucky and his team at all. Instead, they were quickly flying in another direction as their faces contorted in pain.

Why did they? Pretty simple! The two guys that Rean and Roan struck down didn’t die, but they lost consciousness straight away. It shouldn’t be a surprise that the twins could strike precisely enough to achieve that effect.

That wasn’t the point, though. Since they lost consciousness, they fell from the skies, and soon... they fell more than ten meters away from their closest companion. That immediately activated the chains’ special ability, and a powerful Divine Energy Pressure assaulted both teams! Bugel warned them all. The teams must not break that limit, or that would be the result. Now, the two teams completely ignored the twins and flew after their members who were falling from the skies. They had to do it soon, or they would not be able to continue if the pressure persisted.

Finally, Kentucky appeared on the other side, flying away. Just as he disappeared into the distance, the other six teams arrived, the ones who were pursuing Kentucky from the back. They tried to get here faster, but the chains made it hard to move as a group, so their weakest members kind of held them back a little.

Nonetheless, they were still able to see what happened with their Divine Senses. If they had any doubt before, now they were certain. Wisfreya’s group was definitely stronger than any of them. Even worse, they still haven’t understood very well how Wisfreya’s ability worked. Those crystals were too dangerous. Would they be the ones to die if they were targeted by her? They began to hesitate.

Well, to be honest, they should be looking at the entire twins’ group. For the high-level experts watching from the outside, things looked much clearer.

"It wasn’t just Wisfreya," Kenty, an elder of the Janweng Organization, said. "Everyone in that group accomplished some truly amazing feats. The two boys on the right and left wings were able to strike down the correct enemy before the fight even began, and they did so from a distance that one wouldn’t expect a sword user to reach. Their precision was remarkable. It was clear that they intended to exploit the special abilities of the chains to their advantage."

"Indeed," Klincks agreed. "The other four who jumped to block the attacks also stood out. They knew exactly where to strike to create a chain reaction that nullified all the enemy attacks on the other side. Has this team truly been formed during this gathering?"

"Hehe!" Bugel smiled at them. "And who do you think is commanding them all? Did you forget? Wisfreya’s crystals can redirect elements. She must be the one coordinating everything. Of course, I will admit, these kids she put together surpassed all my expectations, but that just shows how impressive our Verjansy Country’s Wisfreya is."

Everyone nodded. If only they knew it was actually the twins who were coordinating everything...

It didn’t matter, though. Everyone in that team was making a dazzling display, and none of them could be ignored. Surprisingly, even Gakrid and Rovitel were doing incredibly well. No one expected them to be able to hold the Crystal Core for an entire minute each. Could it be they judged those two youngsters wrong?

They did not. Gakrid and Rovitel were just lucky that Celis had prepared the crystal for them. That’s all.

No one was going to tell them that...

Back in the dome.

*Ugh...*

Rovitel finally reached his limit, but at that moment, Rean stepped forward and took the Crystal Core from his hand as Kentucky flew away. "You two did an amazing job. Just sit down and relax. It won’t take long."
