Chapter 3787: What To Expect?

The system was just about to charge the twins another 10 Celestial Points when suddenly, the connection was cut. A vertical crack appeared in the middle of Rion’s body, shining black and white on two different sides. Finally, the twins separated, returning to their normal bodies.

From there, Rean took over. "Alright, seems like there is a good use for you, after all."

Erxando didn’t know how the twins could get together and separate, but he didn’t find it too weird. All Umbras know about the outside world due to the fragments of memories, but none of them really knew much as a whole. In his head, that was probably some kind of ability from the twins’ race.

Above all, he was relieved that the twins’ group wouldn’t kill him right now. "I’m definitely worth keeping alive. So, what do you need from me?"

Actually, Roan’s plan was pretty simple. Other Umbras might come to Erxando to check what he is doing, but that wasn’t a problem. The only reason Erxando found the twins was because he attacked Xian. This time, the Umbras will not attack Xian for no reason since Erxando is there.

Since Rean can bend light to make him and Roan invisible, in everyone’s eyes, it will be as if only Xian and Erxando are present. The twins will be there too, but other Umbras won’t see them. So, Xian would be the one responsible for keeping the twins’ intents and souls concealed, while Erxando would be there just to keep others away.

With that in mind, Rean pulled out several rune materials from the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm, speaking. "I know that you can open a gap in your Emotional Energy cover so Xian can feel your intentions. Do that now. I’m also going to use that gap to put a little something inside your soul." As Rean said that, arcs of Bright Red Lightning danced in his hand while he worked on the runes.

Erxando felt a chill in his soul. Unfortunately, it was either that or dying. The worst part was Xian’s presence. Once he opens that gap, his intentions will be felt by Xian, and he can’t hide it. So, if he tried to trick the twins somehow, they would know through Xian. "Be... Be gentle with me..."

Meanwhile, Kentucky talked to Celis through Sister Orb. ’I had to come out by Rean and Roan’s side to help them against a Level Three Umbra. So, if something happens on your side, I won’t be able to help you.’

Celis, who had just killed another Level Two Umbra with Foliana, wasn’t very happy to hear that. Asking for an explanation, Kentucky told him everything that happened, and Celis could only sigh in resignation. ’There was no other choice. If this Erxando guy had escaped, chances were you would have a bunch of Level Three umbras looking for you in no time.’

Kentucky agreed with him. ’Indeed. Anyway, be more careful there from now on. If you are found out, you will only have yourself to rely on.’

Celis looked at the Level Two Umbra’s Shadow Energy, which was dissipating completely in front of him, saying, ’I understand. I’m still fine on my side. Back on the twins’ side, Erxando wasn’t having a very good experience. Rean used Divine Sense Circuitry Formation Runes that could store energy. With his Bright Red Lightning, he charged them with plenty of it, merging them with Erxando’s soul.

Rean might not understand Erxando’s and the other Umbras’ Souls very much. However, one thing was certain: his Bright Red Lightning was extremely effective. It was especially so with these runes, which will keep his Red Lightning right inside Erxando’s Soul.

Still, that job was quite painful, as Erxando could feel the Red Lightning entering the rune, even if Rean was being careful to not damage his Soul even more. Let’s not forget that with this last battle, Erxando was truly in pretty bad shape. Who knows if he would be able to use Celestial Laws as he is at the moment?

It took Rean almost two hours, but he was delighted with the result. "Now, that’s what I call a job well done. Don’t try to get rid of the runes. I will know if something happens to them straight away."

Following that, he attached something to one of his hands and Roan’s. It was a rune, a rune connected to the ones merged into Erxando’s Soul. With a single thought, they could make the runes inside Erxando’s erupt with all the Bright Red Lightning inside.

Roan made a simple test, raising his hand and activating one of those runes just slightly. A tiny, tiny bit of the Red Lightning burst out in the next moment.

*Arrrghhh!*

Erxando felt an excruciating pain, and this time, it truly damaged his soul again. Fortunately, it wasn’t much, and he could hold himself together. "Y-You! Why did you do that?"

"Hmph!" Roan snorted. "There wouldn’t be much of a point in doing that if the runes didn’t work. Seems like they do."

Rean shrugged, explaining. "Alright, Erxando. The rule is straightforward. You follow our orders, and the runes inside your soul won’t explode. I don’t care if you are a Level Two, Three, or even higher. With what I prepared for you, I can absolutely guarantee that you will die if any of us activate the runes. It doesn’t even need to be all of them, just a fifth would be enough. But... Well, you know how the old saying goes, better safe than sorry."

Erxando felt like crying. His plans to escape became a lot harder now. How far could the twins activate those runes? Was there really enough to kill him? Even if there wasn’t enough, which he doubted to be the case, it would likely still be enough to make him lose his mind. Too many questions, and the twins definitely wouldn’t answer a single one. "I will try to do my best..."

"You die if you don’t," Roan added.

With that out of the way, the twins proceeded to ask more about the area where the Level Three Umbras lived. "So, tell me, what can we expect going further into your Level Three Umbras territory?"
