Peerless Battle Spirit

Chapter 1664 - The Illusionary Immortal Dao Gate

In the huge city, the cultivators were astounded.

They did not think someone would challenge them to a game of chess while the feast was happening.

Even if the man was a Peerless Genius at the Palaces of Elites, he would easily offend the other Peerless Geniuses and experts still.

Normally, a Peerless Genius could act recklessly in their respective Small Immortal Realm, but it was surely not the case today.

No one knew if there were some extreme talents that were hiding in the city.

“That guy is restless as usual.”

Qiu Hong harrumphed with a hint of disgust.

“Who is he?”

Qin Nan asked in an intrigued manner.

The moment the chessboard appeared, Qin Nan could sense a shocking illusionary intent from it.

Normally, the illusionary intent was used to baffle others, but the illusionary intent of the chessboard was different, it was imperious and murderous.

“He’s the first core disciple of the Illusionary Immortal Dao Gate, one of the thirteen Supreme Daoism factions, Xiu Shenliang.”

The disgust in Qiu Hong’s eyes grew stronger, “This man is very strange, it doesn’t matter what level the cultivation of his opponents are, he would always mock and irdicule them.”

Xiu Shenliang had mocked Qiu Hong when he arrived. The man almost lost his calm and threw a punch at Xiu Shenliang.

Xu Xianzhi giggled and said, “That man is very strange indeed. He had a pair of mysterious wings since he was born. He’s quite a powerful Peerless Genius.”

Before Qin Nan could speak, several cultivators flew into the air.

“Since you’re asking for a game of chess, I shall be your opponent.”

“How can I not accept the challenge knowing that you have such an interest?”

These cultivators were peak Heaven Gods, and were extremely good at playing chess.

{TL Note: The chess here is the Chinese board game, Go}

In their eyes, the fact that Xiu Shenliang was challenging everyone to a game of Go was too disrespectful, hence it was necessary to teach him a lesson.

However, when they reached the illusionary chessboard, their expressions changed significantly as they realized something.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Following three loud blasts, the three cultivators let out cries of agony. Their minds received a tremendous blow. They fell and landed in the city.

“He dares to use violence?”

The cultivators were shocked.

Everyone knew that violence was not allowed in the Flowing Moon Dao City.

“Those three are being too careless.”

However, many cultivators sighed disappointedly.

Even though the Flowing Moon Dao City forbade the use of violence, it never said that the cultivators were not allowed to use their Martial Intent to suppress the others.

Besides, when both sides gave their consent for a duel to take place, the cultivators were allowed to use violence.

“You dare accept my challenge when that’s all you got?”

Xiu Shenliang’s disdainful voice echoed in the city, “Besides, how stupid are you three? Do you really think I’m interested in playing a game of Go here?”

“I just want to find an excuse to teach you mere ants a lesson.”

Many cultivators were startled by the words.

The man was simply too full of himself. He basically treated them all as mere ants.

“Amitabha, Cultivator Xiu, your evil tendencies are too strong. You should convert to a disciple of our Ancient Bodhi Temple. Otherwise, a great disaster will befall you.”

A Bodhi chime echoed in the sky above the city.

An old man dressed in a white monk robe, surrounded by wisps of Dao glow, with a friendly look on his face appeared in the air and reached the chessboard within the blink of an eye.

A strong intent surged at the old man, yet he did not seem to be affected by it. His white robe flapped wildly in the wind.

“Since Cultivator Xiu is challenging us to a game of Go, I shall not go easy on you.”

The old man’s eyes emitted a golden flicker. His face changed swiftly and turned into a young man with a handsome appearance.

His aura skyrocketed too as he pointed to the rift.

BANG!

A giant black chess piece appeared, with a strong gust surging in all directions.

“Xiu Shenliang, you’re too full of yourself. I’ve long been waiting for a chance to teach you a lesson!”

An icy voice suddenly said.

A long-haired young man in a rugged robe, with sharp eyes like a pair of peerless swords made his way to the chessboard.

He unleashed his cultivation and pointed forward. A blinding glow soared into the sky and placed a giant black chess piece on the other corner of the board.

Two outstanding intents clashed with the illusionary intent like two black dragons.

Strong gusts swept the surroundings.

Even though no one had executed an Immortal Art, the people could easily sense the strong clash between the intents.

“That man is called Yu Mingfou, a Peerless Genius of the Ancient Bodhi Temple. He’s only second to Long Chan among the core disciples. However, rumors say he’s actually a woman.”

The Blood-Eye Human Immortal transmitted his voice to Qin Nan from some other palace among the Palaces of Elites, “The other man is the core disciple of the Sanqing Ancient Sect, Qing Yuanzi, he once killed a Peerless Genius.”

When the Blood-Eye Human Immortal was not around, he had been busy collecting information of the Peerless Geniuses apart from focusing on achieving the Human Immortal Realm, just so Qin Nan was aware of the opponents he was up against.

Qin Nan expressed his gratitude and continued to focus on the chessboard. He was interested to see how Xiu Shenliang was going to handle the situation.

“Tsk tsk, it turns out that two Peerless Geniuses have accepted my challenge.”

Xiu Shenliang said mockingly, “But, you two should realize that you are never worthy enough for me to remember your names.”

A strong gust blew at the chessboard following the words.

Countless deities appeared in the sky, like an entire kingdom had just descended.

Yu Mingfou uttered a chant calmly, while Qing Yuanzi let out a hollow laugh.

“Is that so?”

The two moved rapidly and placed their chess pieces in thunderous explosions.

However, the chessboard only shuddered slightly. There was no crack on it. The white chess pieces remained firm in their places too.

“Xiu Shenliang’s cultivation significantly outmatches the average Peerless Geniuses!”

The cultivators were startled upon seeing this.

Even though they found the man extremely annoying, they could not help but admit how outstanding his cultivation was.

“Xiu Shenliang, I, Luo Yan should remind you that every time you hear my name, you will find yourself trapped inside a nightmare. Nobody can save you.”
