Chapter 3927: Universes In One’s Grasp

Chapter 3927: Universes In One’s Grasp

Lu Yin and the others returned to the megaverse’s primary universe and waited there for half a year. After that, they started searching for more parallel universes, one at a time. As long as they found one where the Devourer had been destroyed, they would be able to follow the trail and find the hidden entity.

The search lasted for more than half a year. When combing through all the parallel universes where they had thrown Devourers into, they found that almost every universe had been devastated. The Devourer had grown into colossal collections, and even though the three men were attacked upon entering the universes, though none of them were injured even the slightest.

If the Devourer was a living creature, it would probably be laughing. The Allsense Megaverse was simply perfect for it.

The only drawback was the lack of flesh and blood.

However, the metal could eventually leave the megaverse and aimlessly drift through the Aevum Inch until a suitable destination was found.

For the moment, the Devourer was unable to leave the Allsense Megaverse.

“Why hasn’t anything come out yet? The flowers have been almost completely shredded,” Ming Zhuo asked in confusion.

Yu replied, “Maybe this still isn’t enough.”

Lu Yin spoke in a low tone, “There are too many parallel universes. Think about it—if these flowers have really spread across countless universes, then the Devourer has only destroyed a small portion of the flowers, which is still within the hidden entity’s tolerance. They have all the time in the world and can simply outlast us.”

“So what do we do? If we want to push things past the point of tolerance, we’ll need to stay here for a very long time, though I don’t really mind,” Ming Zhuo said.

Yu looked at Lu Yin. “However, I don’t think that you want to stay here for too long, Mr. Lu.”

Lu Yin gazed at the Devourer writhing in the distance. “Parallel universes are connected by sequence strings. We normally don’t look too deeply into a megaverse because there are too many minute details and doing so also makes the place unlivable. However, we have to look now.

“I want to see how many parallel universes this megaverse has, as well as how many of them I can destroy.”

“Junior Brother, don’t tell me—are you planning to connect all the parallel universes through sequence strings? Even if you can manage to do that, all of the connection points will quickly recover. Even if the Devourer pieces pass through and those universes are destroyed, we still won’t be able to track down anything,” Ming Zhuo said.

Lu Yin exhaled. “Then I’ll just have to make sure that they don’t recover.”

Ming Zhuo’s expression changed. “Are you planning to hold onto the sequence strings?”

Every megaverse had a point of origin for its sequence strings. For example, the Tianyuan Megaverse’s origin was at the Immemorial Citadel, while the Orchid Megaverse’s had been at its Mother Tree. They were naturally occurring origin points, but if someone with overwhelming power observed the entire megaverse and grasped every sequence string away from the origin point, they would essentially create a new convergence, or knot, within the sequence strings.

However, doing so required an unimaginable amount of strength, as it was essentially grabbing hold of entire parallel universes.

Even Ming Zhuo and the others could not fathom what might be required for such a feat. It might only be possible for an Immortal.

But Lu Yin was not yet an Immortal.

Yu was right; Lu Yin did not want to spend too much time in the Allsense Megaverse. If there was a problem, he would deal with it. He knew that his suggested approach was incredibly difficult, and it was also something that he had never considered before. However, it was worth trying at the moment.

“Both of you, step back.”

Ming Zhuo wanted to say something, but Yu stopped him. “Let him try.”

Ming Zhuo sighed. “To hold the megaverse in one’s hand and toy with its universes... that’s a privilege of the Immortal realm. No one else can do it. Junior brother...”

Yu looked intently at Lu Yin’s back. “His power already surpasses what we understand.”

Ming Zhuo stared at Lu Yin. “Let’s hope that that’s true.”

The universe grew still. Ming Zhuo and Yu deliberately moved farther away, though they continued to watch Lu Yin.

Lu Yin raised a hand and curled his fingers. He then abruptly shot his hand into the void and grabbed it.

Terrifying power spread through the void, tearing open countless black lines across the universe. Far away, the massive piece of Devourer sensed the power and frantically rushed towards it, but before it could even get close, it was forced back by the resulting shockwaves. The metal stubbornly shot forward again, only to be sliced apart by the spatial tears that it had run into.

Infinity caused Lu Yin’s strength to increase, while Heaven's Seal’s and Near and Far sequence particles spread out. Behind Lu Yin, lanterns rose upwards as he used True God’s Natural Art. Simultaneously, an unbelievable amount of consciousness enveloped the universe as the Nine Heavens appeared and rose further and further up. Lu Yin was able to dismiss or reform the Nine Heavens Transformation with but a single thought.

“Rise!” Lu Yin growled. He could see the megaverse’s sequence strings that were stretching through multiple layers of parallel universes. He grabbed them and then forcefully pulled them back.

At that moment, the entire Allsense Megaverse began to tremble. This included not only the universe that Lu Yin stood in, but also the megaverse’s countless parallel universes and the primary one, where the Second, Fourth, and Fifth Night Pillars were waiting. Everything shook as the cultivators on the Night Pillars stared at the quaking universe around them, confused by the sudden turn of events.

Was the universe about to collapse upon them?

In an unknown universe, countless enormous flowers bloomed. Endless Allsenses surged like an ocean as they orbited the glowing planets and flowed into the depths of the flowers.

At the center of all of those flowers stood the Mother Tree. It towered high into the sky, though it was much smaller than the one that stood in the Nine Odysseys Megaverse; it was even smaller than the one that had stood in the Orchid Megaverse.

Clinging to the trunk of the Mother Tree was a massive moth-like creature. It was large enough to cover nearly half of the tree. If it opened its wings, it would undoubtedly eclipse the universe.

As Lu Yin’s power continued to pierce through various parallel universes and grab hold of the sequence strings, the moth-like creature’s compound eyes opened, and its wings trembled slightly. It seemed to be raising its guard. All of the Allsenses froze and fell silent.

The moth was hiding.

Lu Yin’s arm pulled back further, his hand dragging a bit of space that was trembling.

Ming Zhuo and Yu stared in shock. Above them, they could see countless parallel universes overlapping. It looked like something from a dreamscape, and yet they knew that it was real. Lu Yin had captured the megaverse’s parallel universe with his own strength. He had just destabilized the entire megaverse.

If he simultaneously snapped all of the sequence strings that he had grabbed, then theoretically, as long as he had grabbed enough parallel universes, he could reset the megaverse.

When Gu Duanke had reset the Orchid Megaverse, he had to first find the origin point of the megaverse’s sequence strings and then cut them.

In contrast, Lu Yin had not found the origin point of the sequence strings but had instead pulled them out to create a new nexus. If this were to be reported back to the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, everyone would be shocked by Lu Yin’s power yet again. This was enough to startle even the Immortals.

Lu Yin clenched his right hand tightly, maintaining a tight hold on the countless sequence strings. Beads of sweat dripped from his forehead as lightning flashed and the universes quaked. Countless spatial rifts tore across the starry vault.

There was a blast as Lu Yin took a step back. His right arm turned, twisting the captured sequence strings. With each step he took back, new parallel universes were connected to the bunch that Lu Yin had already pulled out. After ten steps, countless universes had been gathered, and they all lay spread out before him. There were far more than what the three men had ever managed to visit.

Lu Yin had succeeded. He had also redefined just how terrifying a level of power one could achieve without becoming an Immortal. He had just forced countless parallel universes to converge.

Still, compared to the ease with which Master Qing Cao had done the same thing, Lu Yin knew that his strength still fell a bit short of the Immortal level.

Master Qing Cao had effortlessly connected Heavenspire to the Spirit Nidus, creating a connection large and stable enough to toss the Immortal beast through. Even after countless people had passed through the connection, it was still stable and allowed unfettered passage for the Spirit Nidus’s cultivators.

Such a thing required even greater power than what Lu Yin had demonstrated. That was the terror of the Immortal realm.

Lu Yin had opened up a connection between the parallel universes, but they were too small to even be compared to what Master Qing Cao had opened.

“Cut the Devourer apart and throw it through!” Lu Yin shouted.

Ming Zhuo and Yu quickly suppressed their shock and moved to attack the distant metal.

They proceeded to slice the Devourer to bits and then tossed the fragments into the various parallel universes that Lu Yin had connected to.

“Junior Brother, as soon as these connections close back up, regardless of how much Devourer we throw over, we’ll never be able to track it.”

“Then I won’t let them close,” Lu Yin retorted, firming his grip on the sequence strings.

He stared at the sequence strings in his grasp. Strength was steadily draining from his arm. He was incapable of replicating Master Qing Cao’s accomplishment. Lu Yin could not open a stable connection between parallel universes that would persist even if he left. Ultimately, Immortal matter was the difference.

"How long can you endure for?" Yu shouted.

Lu Yin could not directly use Immortal matter with his physical strength. The only way to use the substance effectively was through Immortal battle techniques. At least, that had previously been the case.

A stream of white energy appeared in Lu Yin’s palm. This was the result after his Wielder - God battle force had transformed. He had discovered that this form of battle force could also be fused with Immortal matter, which made it the strongest power available to him at this moment.

As long as he merged his battle force with Immortal matter, even a single speck of Immortal matter would be enough for him to maintain a hold of the sequence strings for a very long time. At the very least, it would be long enough.

“I can keep these connections stable. We’ll see what endures longer: my diminishing strength, or the hidden entity as it watches its universes be destroyed.”

Ming Zhuo and Yu exchanged looks. They had not expected Lu Yin to actually be able to accomplish something that was only possible for Immortals. Once again, their understanding of the young man’s power had been redefined.

While they were all aware of the existence of Immortal matter, it was supposed to be impossible to directly use it with one’s body. Neither man could understand how Lu Yin was accomplishing it, but it suddenly appeared that they might have some genuine hope of defeating the Allsense Megaverse.

The two men did not hesitate, and they increased the rate at which they dissected the Devourer and hurled the metal pieces into the parallel universes.

Let’s see how long you can tolerate this.

...

Eleven years after the four universe-class battleships departed from the Spirit Nidus, the people aboard them finally saw a massive stone gate in front of them. Through it, they saw a dark, star filled universe. They had arrived at the Tianyuan Megaverse.

E' Nan stood at the prow of Genesis, his eyes bright with excitement. He had finally returned home.

Beside him stood Su Shidao and Zi Tianshu, who were also staring at the Tianyuan. Not one of the three men had ever expected to set foot in this megaverse again.

The many cultivators from the Spirit Nidus also silently stared forward. They could still remember the words that Lu Yin had spoken to them.

The Spirit Nidus had once invaded this megaverse, but Lu Yin had rolled back time and reset everything. In doing so, he had also given the Spirit Nidus a new beginning.

Last time, the Spirit Nidus had arrived at the Tianyuan Megaverse with a desire for conquest, believing themselves to be vastly superior. This time, they felt lost. They did not know what might await them there.

If the High Seraph and the Seven Seraphs were still alive, the Spirit Nidus would still be able to act proud. Unfortunately, all of those powerhouses were gone, save Su Shidao. Not a single other Seraph remained.

On the other hand, the Tianyuan still had Lu Yin to prop it up. He served as their gateway into the Nine Odysseys Megaverse. On top of that, there were also many other powerful experts in the Tianyuan. All of the experts who had been on Boundless and amazed the Spirit Nidus had returned to the Tianyuan, and there were also the masters who had remained behind.

At the moment, even when it came to the total strength of their cultivators, the Tianyuan might no longer be inferior to the Spirit Nidus.

Within the gate, there were cultivators from the Heavens Sect keeping watch. Even if most of them had been pulled back to help deal with the threat of the bugs, some had remained at the gate to maintain a watch.

When they saw the massive form of Genesis approaching, the watchers grew alarmed and quickly contacted the Heavens Sect with a wireless jincan.

Within the Heavens Sect, Lu Yuan, Ancient God, and the others were stunned. Why was a battleship approaching their megaverse?

Chu Yi and the others immediately thought of the Spirit Nidus’s universe-class battleships, and they all raced to the megaverse’s boundary.
