Chapter 3798: The Four Commands Grand Swordmaster

Chapter 3798: The Four Commands Grand Swordmaster

Lu Jing and Lu Bi descended from the Sword Altar. Still facing Lu Sizhan, Lu Feichen said, “I truly want to know. How can someone in the Origin realm exploit the flaw in my Beheading Star?”

Lu Sizhan shook his head. “You can just go straight to your second technique.”

Lu Feichen’s eyebrow shot up. “That man never saw my second move.”

Lu Sizhan exhaled. “He deduced it.”

“Impossible!” For the first time so far, Lu Feichen’s expression changed.

On the observation platform, the sect’s elders and even Ming Zhuo reacted with similar shock. Deduction, if it was true deduction, could only be done by someone with vastly superior cultivation than their target.

Ming Zhuo believed that his own cultivation was quite impressive, but even he was unable to deduce Lu Feichen’s second technique. In fact, Ming Zhuo was unable to analyze the sword intent of even an Ortuser like Lu Sizhan.

For someone to truly deduce Lu Feichen’s second technique without even seeing it... If that was beyond even a peak Dukkhan, then did the person have to be an Immortal?

Lu Feichen did not believe it, and neither could anyone else who heard Lu Sizhan’s claim. In fact, the man himself did not believe it. Personally, he had no idea what Lu Feichen’s second technique was, and he sincerely hoped that it was not what Lu Yin had deduced. If it was, then Lu Yin was far too terrifying.

Lu Feichen took a deep breath, his expression growing solemn. “Do you really believe that he was able to deduce my second technique?”

Lu Sizhan calmly replied, “I don’t know.”

Lu Feichen nodded. “Very well, then let’s see if he succeeded or not. If he did, then his sword skills surpass all others’ in existence.”

With that, the man’s sword slashed out. He attacked with Beheading Star. It was a dazzling sword technique that glittered like stars falling from the sky. Right after that, his sword turned. “Last Court.”

Ming Zhuo slightly leaned forward. What exquisite swordsmanship!

All eyes were drawn to this attack. It could overwhelm both one’s body and mind. It felt as though the attack was not aimed solely at Lu Sizhan, but rather at everyone present, the entire universe. It seemed certain that it would cleave all things.

Lu Sizhan stared blankly at the sword. He had once experienced Beheading Star, and he had been utterly powerless before it. His own sword technique was called Flowing Retreat, and it used the concept of yielding in order to advance. However, no matter how he retreated, he had never been able to escape from Lu Feichen’s slash. This time, Lu Sizhan was not facing Beheading Star, but rather Last Court.

Last Court was exactly what Lu Yin had deduced.

At that moment, Lu Sizhan’s heart plummeted.

Anyone who could truly deduce Lu Feichen's second sword technique had to be terrifyingly powerful. Why had such a person come to the Four Commands Sword Sect? Why had he gotten entangled with Lu Siyu? At this moment, Lu Sizhan understood how this person had caught the eye of Greater Sancte Green Lotus.

Even so, the man acted with absolutely no regard for propriety and showed no restraint.

As the sword fell, so too did the stars. Last Court was a technique that had been comprehended in the Seventh Odyssey. No one had ever managed to force Lu Feichen to unleash his second technique before. He had not even planned to use it during the competition for the Four Commands Grand Swordmaster. It was a technique reserved for after he succeeded in claiming the title, when he would challenge the greatest swordmasters of Nine Odysseys Megaverse. It was the technique that would elevate the Four Commands Sword Sect back to the peak.

Still, if he had to reveal his hidden technique at this moment, then so be it. He would let everyone witness what gave some unknown man the audacity to claim that he was capable of deducing Lu Feicheng’s second technique.

Lu Sizhan stood without moving, not even when the cold, sharp edge of the sword fell upon him.

Three breaths. One... two... three.

At the end of the third breath, Lu Sizhan’s sword rose and then fell back down.

There was a soft ringing as the man performed the simplest vertical slash. It was like seeing a child lift a sword for the first time and then allow it to fall back down with only gravity. It was like seeing a blacksmith hammer metal, throwing sparks.

Yet that single, most basic slash succeeded in cutting through Lu Feichen’s descending attack.

Lu Sizhan should never have been able to even see the attack. The true brilliance of Lu Feichen’s technique had not even been revealed, but it had already been cut apart.

Lu Feichen stared in stunned silence at the broken sword in his hand. How... how is this possible?

He was not the only one asking that question; everyone else was as well. Even Ming Zhuo’s eyes were bulging, as not even he had been able to instantly find a flaw in Last Court, let alone perfectly time a counter attack enough to sever the attack.

If Lu Feichen’s sword technique was actually that easy to break, then the Four Commands Sword Sect would have ceased to exist long ago.

All techniques and powers in existence contained flaws. Ming Zhuo had heard his master once mention that even karma had weak points. The challenge was finding those vulnerabilities.

If the flaw could be found, then it would be possible to shatter countless techniques.

At this moment, Ming Zhuo saw that ability. He did not see it in Lu Sizhan, but rather in the one behind the swordsman. The one hiding in the shadows. That person had not only deduced Lu Feichen’s second technique, but he had also seen completely through it and given Lu Sizhan an opening that he could exploit.

Just how terrifying must that person be?

A chill ran down everyone’s spine. No one had anticipated such an unbelievable outcome to the competition.

With a single strike, Lu Sizhan had not only cut through Lu Feichen’s sword technique, but he had also shattered the obsession of every swordsmen in the Four Commands Sword Sect, possibly all of them throughout the entire Nine Odysseys Megaverse.

At this moment, Xian Ding was questioning his very existence. This sort of existential crisis was not something that even his own master, the Azuresword Sovereign, could do.

Elder Le was shaken. He secretly made a decision to ask his martial uncle to move out and find the mysterious assailant behind the entire ordeal. That person’s strength had to be incomprehensible.

Lu Siyu’s face turned pale. Just how powerful does Lu Yin have to be to accomplish something like this? Did Master already know something? We truly know nothing about that man.

At that moment, the Sword Altar was filled with a deathly silence.

Lu Sizhan slowly raised his sword and pointed it at Lu Feichen. “You have lost.”

Lu Feichen stared at Lu Sizhan. Finally, the man let go of his sword and let it fall to the Sword Altar with a soft clang.

Lu Feichen laughed, genuinely laughed. There was not the slightest trace of bitterness from his defeat. “Hahaha! There really is such a person! Someone capable of deducing my technique and seeing through my sword intent! My life has not been in vain. It wasn’t in vain!”

He looked around and offered a low bow. “Lu Feichen thanks you for your instruction! To have my technique deduced by you is the honor of a lifetime!”

In the distance, Lu Yin nodded in approval. This Four Commands Sword Sect... Really isn’t bad.

“Feichen, what nonsense are you spouting? Pick up your sword! Lu Sizhan may have broken your Last Court, but he can’t counter your other techniques! Even the most common ones that you have are still enough to defeat him!” the northern elder screamed from the observation platform.

Everyone was staring at Lu Feichen. The elder was correct; Lu Sizhan had merely been taught how to take advantage of the flaws in Beheading Star and Last Court, but that did not mean that he had the strength to win with his own strength. In a normal exchange of sword techniques, Lu Sizhan would not stand any chance at all.

Lu Feichen shook his head and let out a deep breath. “The Four Commands Grand Swordmaster represents the entire Four Commands Sword Sect, not just the North Command.

“My technique has already been completely seen through. That man is beyond anything I can compete with. However, he is not beyond him.” The man turned to pointedly look at Lu Sizhan, who met Lu Feichen’s gaze. “Lu Sizhan, has that man ever fought against you?”

Lu Sizhan frowned. “Never.”

Lu Feichen smiled. “Exactly. That man is too proud, not even seeing you as someone worthy of facing. That means that you’re the only one of the four of us who might be able to surprise him and win. Use your sword intent to merge the four directions’ sword intent and transform into the Sword Master. Only then will you be able to face him.

“The title of the Four Commands Grand Swordmaster belongs to you and no one else.”

Atop the observation platform, the northern elder wanted to interject, but nothing came out when he opened his mouth.

There were a few things that Lu Feichen had left unsaid.

Their mysterious assailant had already defeated three of the sect masters, leaving Lu Sizhan alone untouched. This was not because the unknown swordsman was incapable, but rather because he had not deemed Lu Sizhan a worthy opponent. Despite the reasons, to the outside world, Lu Sizhan remained undefeated. He had also just overcome the other three candidates, which meant that having Lu Sizhan become the Four Commands Grand Swordmaster would serve as a veil of dignity that could preserve their sect’s pride.

Why Lu Sizhan was undefeated made no difference. What was important was that he had never lost.

For that reason, Lu Sizhan alone could take the title of the Four Commands Grand Swordmaster.

Lu Sizhan met Lu Feichen’s gaze with an intense stare of his own. “I understand.”

“Will you one day challenge him?” Lu Feichen asked.

Lu Sizhan did not answer. Instead, he walked to the center of the Sword Altar. “Four sword intents: unite!”

As the words were spoken, Lu Feichen raised his hand and pointed a finger at Lu Sizhan. As he did so, Lu Bi and Lu Jing made the exact same gesture without any hesitation, using the exact same technique.

They were employing the foundational sword technique that had been passed down from the founding ancestor of the Four Commands Sword Sect. Each direction of the sect would cultivate a distinct sword intent, and when those four intents were merged, they would completely transform.

From every direction, countless eyes stared at Lu Sizhan. The next Four Commands Grand Swordmaster had defied all expectations. Who could have imagined that Lu Sizhan would be the one to rise to the top?

Word of the results instantly spread out, reaching across the entire Nine Odysseys Megaverse. Wherever the news reached, it stirred utter shock.

In particular, those who had been eyeing Lu Siyu were completely thrown off. This development shattered all of their plans.

The fact that Lu Sizhan had become the Four Commands Grand Swordmaster dramatically elevated Lu Siyu’s status. This meant that not only was she one of the Seven Fairies, but she also had the entire Four Commands Sword Sect behind her. The price of proposing marriage to her had just skyrocketed.

“More! Keep adding to it! Make it a sky-high price!”

“Old man, is this even worth it anymore? You’re ruining your entire fortune just for a chance to marry Lu Siyu.”

“What the hell do you know? Lu Siyu has the Four Commands Sword Sect, and she is also one of the Seven Fairies, which means she has Greater Sancte Green Lotus behind her. Marrying her would be the greatest luck your ancestor has ever seen!”

“You’re not dead yet...”

"Scram!"

...

“Well, this might actually be a good thing. Lu Sizhan is not ambitious, yet is a man of integrity. He ignores the darker aspects of the world. Such a man can never enter Dukkha. He’s sure to become the weakest Sword Master in the history of the Four Commands Sword Sect. Hmph! This means that we can disregard his sect from now on.”

“What about the hidden expert who guided him?”

“They don’t matter. There’s no doubt that they’re one of Greater Sancte Green Lotus’s disciples, or maybe even the Greater Sancte himself. The Seven Fairies really are favored.”

...

“So he really did become the Sword Master? It looks like we’ll need to renegotiate the terms.”

...

The Four Commands Sword Sect was in a remote corner of the Nine Odysseys Megaverse. While their swords were sharp and trained for war, they kept their sharpness hidden. It was possible for the appearance of a new Sword Master to change the status quo and influence the structure of the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, but outsiders understood Lu Sizhan all too well. Because of this, no one expected much of him. As long as he did not disappear into secluded training with the entire Four Commands Sword Sect, this was a lucky outcome for many other groups.

Lu Sizhan was not someone who would change the status quo.

From afar, Lu Yin curiously observed Lu Sizhan as he absorbed the sword intent. This process was somewhat reminiscent of the Nine Clones Secret Technique, except that this was cloned sword intent. The founding ancestor of the Four Commands Sword Sect had been quite imaginative.

The separated sword intent did not present much of a threat to outsiders, but when needed, the sword intent could be merged back together. It was truly interesting to see.

It took half a day for the four sword intents to fully merge. Everyone waited patiently, including Ming Zhuo. This was to show respect for the soon-to-be Sword Master.

Sword intent suddenly shot into the sky, seemingly splitting open the sky above the Four Commands Sword Sect. At this moment, anyone who dared to pass through the sky would be seeking disaster.

Lu Yin looked up. This sword intent was certainly impressive, despite having fully merged within just half a day.

At this moment, Lu Sizhan had transformed. Not only did he possess his own sword intent, but also the sword intents that had been cultivated by Lu Bi, Lu Jing, and Lu Feichen. If Lu Sizhan were to challenge Lu Feichen again, he would not even need Lu Yin’s help to find the flaw in the man’s techniques to achieve victory. This was because Lu Sizhan also knew Last Court now.

Theoretically, there was no power gap between Ortusers and Dukkhans; it was nothing more than a difference in one’s mental state. Naturally, there were some who gained greater combat strength when they entered Dukkha, which happened to be true of the other three sect masters. That was also why they had never considered Lu Sizhan a threat.

At this moment, that gap had been bridged.

Truly and completely overcome.
