Jia Li was really taken by surprise to see Jasmine in the same room with her. The last she remembered last night, was that Fu Hua refused to hand over the child to her. She remembered housekeeper Zu escorting her to her bedroom and nothing else.
"Did he bring her when I was sleeping?" Jia Li said in a low tone, but she didn't think it was so because throughout the night, she didn't hear Jasmine crying.
Even if she slept with the motion that Jasmine was with her father, there was no way her cries wouldn't wake her in the middle of the night if Fu Hua brought her back after she fell asleep, so there was only one possibility, that he brought her back this morning.
"...but that doesn't mean I will forgive him." Jia Li murmured as she changed Jasmine's diaper.
When she was done changing Jasmine's diaper, she breastfed her just before Housekeeper Zu came in with another servant to assist in the little bun's bath.
Jia Li wanted to ask Housekeeper Zu if she knew when Jasmine was brought to her, but she stopped just before the question could leave her lips.
This morning, Jasmine was very quiet. She was normally active in the morning as she would be babbling to herself but she was calm this morning.
Jia Li thought she must have over-eaten, so she pinched her tender cheeks with a happy gaze, and continued to dress her up.
"Madam, your breakfast has been served." A servant came to inform Jia Li.
"Bring it here." Jia Li said without sparing the servant a glance.
Housekeeper Zu smiled from the side as she informed Jia Li, "Madam, Sir left the house more than an hour ago."
"Did I ask about him? Why are you telling me about it?" Jia Li asked with a frown.
"I thought you didn't want to eat at the dining because of him but it looks like I had it wrong." Housekeeper Zu said in an apologetic tone.
"Who said I was avoiding him? Serve my food here." Jia Li said and looked away from them.
"Yes, Madam." The servant that came to report about her breakfast, replied before walking away.
Jia Li asked housekeeper Zu to watch the little bun while she goes to have her bath. When she came out from the washroom dressed in some casual clothes, her food had already been served.
Jia Li was lucky to eat peacefully as Jasmine was fine playing by herself.
"Jasmine, you will get hungry so quickly if you play so actively." Jia Li said to her.
The little bun heard her mother's voice and glanced over. She paused with her actions for only a second before she smiled and went back to kicking her legs and her hands about.
Jia Li was glad that her little bun was happy. As she ate, she was thinking about her little bun and the competition.
Jasmine would be 5 months old by the time the competition would end and at that age, it wouldn't be so bad to start working. She just needed to make good plans, so she can see her little bun during lunch hours.
After breakfast, Jia Li fastened Jasmine to her body in her baby carrier and took walks outside the house.
Ocean and her puppies barked and circled Jia Li and the little bun.
Jasmine looked frightened at first because of Ocean's barks but she relaxed after her mother pacified her.
"Jasmine, do you want to say hello to them?" Jia Li asked with a smiling gaze on the little bun.
Jasmine looked at her before glancing at Ocean and the puppies. She had a curious gaze on them.
"Let's do a quick introduction since your father is not here." Jia Li said as a servant spread a mat on the grass for her to sit.
Jia Li released Jasmine from her carrier and sat her on the mat, while she sat behind her with her legs spread. The little girl was basically leaning on her mother as she looked up to glance at Ocean and the approaching puppies that came to play with her.
Fu Hua who left the house early drove straight to the Fu House instead of going to his office. His gaze looked unapproachable.
It was still quite early when he came over but Grandfather Fu was taking early morning walks when he come to his side.
"Good morning, Grandfather." Fu Hua greeted with a slight bow.
"What are you doing so early this morning? How are Jia Li and Da Xia doing?" Grandfather Fu asked with a smile.
"They are fine. I came out early because I have something to talk to you about." Fu Hua said with a collected gaze.
10 minutes later, the grandson and grandfather were sitting side by side on the couch.
"You look like you quarreled with Li girl. What is the matter?" Grandfather Fu asked in a concerned tone.
'Is it obvious?' Fu Hua thought.
"Grandfather, there is an upcoming competition FJ is planning but Jia Li wants to join. The competition will be tough as thousands of designers will be applying for it. I..." Fu Hua went on to explain everything that went down between him and Jia Li, but he omitted the part where he took Jasmine from Jia Li and made her cry.
"...She rejected the goodwill I did for her... At first, I thought about her before thinking about this competition but after analyzing things, I knew it wouldn't be an easy one, so I made another plan for her to get into FJ but she doesn't want it, she instead chose the tough part." Fu Hua complained.
Grandfather Fu glanced at him with a smile. "How can a little matter make you quarrel with your wife? Do you know how sad she is? I know you care about Jia Li but you also have to think properly and not let your fondness for her, get in the way of a serious matter."
Fu Hua looked confused and waited for the old man to continue.
"You are being over-protective of her and that's the reason you are not thinking clearly. Allow Jia Li to join the competition. I have faith and trust in her and even if she fails, I will still believe in her. This competition will be a chance to stretch her. She is getting into FJ but she needs training or she would be swallowed up by jealous wolves. This competition will train her and sharpen her horizon. Go home and make peace with your wife. You can help to put her through with important details concerning the designing, if you are that scared she would lose.." Grandfather Fu said and looked away from him.
