The Hidden Wife Of The Cold CEO

Chapter 136 - Jia Li Snubs Fu Hua

Feng Alix has been under a lot of attacks since some hours ago. It was a good thing she couldn't hold her phone, otherwise, she would have fainted several times.

She still wished she could deal with Fu Hua because right now, she hated him to the bones, but she couldn't risk the only thing she had left, and which was her life.

Feng Alix thought about exposing the fact that she once dated Fu Hua, and that he got married without breaking up with her when she traveled out for work, but her life would be in the line, as she still wanted to live for a long while and make a comeback.

Feng Alix's mother has already warned her to behave and not to cause more trouble to her, and to the company as she had already done more than enough damage to it.

When Fu Hua got home, it was already late. The lights in the living room were already turned off, so he had to turn them on.

As he made his way into the house, he wondered if Jia Li was already asleep, since the lights were off, and the house was silent.

Fu Hua walked straight to his room to have his bath before going to check up on Jia Li. When he tried to open her door, he found out that it was locked.

"Jia Li, are you sleeping?" He asked after knocking twice on the door, but he didn't receive any response. He had to dial her number to be sure she was in her bedroom.

From outside the room, he could hear her phone ringing.

Jia Li who was fast asleep heard her phone ringing and frowned as she slowly opened her eyes.

She picked up her phone and answered the call.

"Hello!" She said in a sleepy tone.

"Are you sleeping?" Fu Hua asked.

"Mmm." Jia Li responded.

"Okay, Good night." Fu Hua said before ending the call.

When the call ended, Jia Li put her phone back on the nightstand before covering her body with the duvet and going back to sleep.

Although Fu Hua was surprised that she went to bed so early, he had another thought that she must have been tired out in school.

Fu Hua went straight to the kitchen to get himself something to eat, before going straight to bed.

The next morning, around 3:00 AM, Jia Li got off the bed and went to wash up, before going to the study to read for a while.

After studying for 3 hours and 30 minutes, she went straight to the kitchen to prepare breakfast.

When Fu Hua got dressed and came to the dining room, he met Jia Li serving breakfast.

Usually, Jia Li would greet him, but this time around, she didn't say a word to him. Fu Hua was sensitive enough to know that something was wrong.

"Jia Li, how were your exams yesterday? I couldn't ask since you went to bed early." Fu Hua said as he sat down with his gaze on her.

"The exam was okay. I went to bed early because I was exhausted." Jia Li replied before taking a seat.

Up till now, she hasn't spared him a glance.

Fu Hua didn't know what was wrong with her, because she seemed to not be in a good mood.

"Why are you unhappy, did something happen?" Fu Hua probed.

"I'm fine, I'm just tired and a bit tensed for my today's exam." Jia Li lied as she picked up her teacup to drink from it.

Fu Hua felt there was more to it, but he didn't know how to deal with her, so he let her be and started to eat after encouraging her with some words.

In the middle of eating, Jia Li suddenly covered her mouth and rushed out of the dining room. Her action came as a surprise to Fu Hua who stopped eating as he directed his gaze to the side that Jia Li disappeared to.

After throwing up, Jia Li gaggled some water and threw it up, before returning to the dining room with a worn-out look.

She felt so tired after throwing up the food she had just eaten. Touching her forehead, she felt how hot it was and sighed to herself.

She has been feeling down since she saw the news about Fu Hua and Feng Alix while in school, and she has been in a bad mood since then.

Jia Li knew Fu Hua didn't love her, and she didn't have the right to be angry with his actions, but still, she couldn't help but feel bad.

She wasn't sure if she liked him, but she couldn't control her emotions of being angry with him because of the news online.

When she returned to the dining room, Fu Hua asked with a concerned gaze, "Are you alright?"

"I'm fine." Jia Li replied as she sat down and drank some tea.

"You don't look okay." Fu Hua replied with a frown.

"I'm fine." Jia Li said again as she finally spared him a glance.

Fu Hua refused to believe she was fine, so when she lowered her head, he placed his palm on her forehead to check her temperature, only to discover that it was hot.

He withdrew his hand and said to her with a frown, "It looks like you have a fever. I will send you to the hospital after breakfast."

"No, I'm fine." Jia Li said without looking up.

Fu Hua's gaze turned cold. "Why are you refusing to go to the hospital when you're not feeling well?"

There was a few seconds of silence before Jia Li decided to reply to him.

"I have an exam in an hour, so I can't go to the hospital now."

Fu Hua finally understood. It was not that she was refusing treatment, but because she didn't have enough time to visit the hospital because of her exams.

Before Fu Hua could talk about rescheduling the visit to the hospital, Jia Li stood up and left the dining room.

The next time Fu Hua saw her, she was already dressed and carrying her backpack.

"I'm leaving for school now." Jia Li said to him before leaving the house.

'Why is she having mood swings?' Fu Hua thought.
