Chapter 6384: Soul Talisman Locked
Chapter 6384: Soul Talisman Locked
“Chu Feng, I’ll handle him,” Eggy said with a murderous aura from the World Spirit Space.
“Having Milady Queen deal with him would be flattering him,” Chu Feng replied before turning to Jie Mubai. “You want my treasures? Give it a try.”
Boom!
Jie Mubai’s spirit power gushed like a volcanic eruption, manifesting as a behemoth and charging toward Chu Feng. However, the spirit power was blocked by an invisible wall before it could reach Chu Feng.
At the same time, the sand suddenly assaulted Jie Mubai. Its attack was much more ferocious than what Chu Feng faced earlier in his test.
The sandstorm should have brought Jie Mubai down, no matter how strong he was, for the sand passed through spirit power and treasures.
But soon, Chu Feng widened his eyes in shock.
The sand stopped just a meter away from Jie Mubai. It was blocked by a ray of light coming from Jie Mubai’s hand. It was a copper candle that emitted a green light, and it was keeping the gray sand at bay.
The candle possessed the same aura as the tombstone.
Chu Feng realized that Jie Mubai had made some progress, even though he wasn’t confident in breaching the formation. He must have obtained the candle before Chu Feng arrived.
The candle served as a death immunity token, making the sandstorm no threat to him.
“Is that the source of your confidence?” Jie Mubai asked.
Chu Feng’s ability to control the sandstorm was a reward for breaching the tombstone, but it also revealed that the powerhouse was not with Chu Feng. Otherwise, Chu Feng wouldn’t have to go through so much trouble here.
Jie Mubai waved his sleeves, and the surrounding ground cracked. Massive light pillars rose from the ground, each one comparable to the tombstone. The light pillars converged to form what resembled a massive lantern, sealing off this realm.
This was the sealing formation Jie Mubai had prepared long ago.
“As formidable as the sandstorm is, it can only damage living beings. Your control over the formation here is also limited. You can only use it for self-defense against attacks within a radius. Let’s see how you can deal with my sealing formation,” Jie Mubai said with a smirk.
Chu Feng took out a teleportation talisman with a flick of his wrist. It was the teleportation formation he had instructed Jie Mubai to construct earlier. Squeezing the talisman paper would immediately transport one into the formation.
“Hahahaha!” Jie Mubai burst into laughter upon seeing the talisman paper.
Only the talisman paper he kept worked. The one he had given Chu Feng was ineffective.
What Chu Feng did next made his smile freeze.
Chu Feng tore the talisman paper.
“Do you think I can’t tell that your talisman paper doesn’t work?” Chu Feng asked.
“Then you should know that you’re cornered,” Jie Mubai scoffed.
“Who told you I need a talisman paper to activate a teleportation formation?” Chu Feng replied with a smile. He formed a hand seal and vanished into thin air. He had entered the teleportation formation.
“That fellow!” Jie Mubai quickly ripped his talisman paper,
Much to his shock, he remained on the spot. He wasn’t transported into the teleportation formation.
“Damn it!” Jie Mubai realized he had underestimated Chu Feng.
He was the one who constructed the teleportation formation, but he lost control over the formation just because he followed Chu Feng’s method.
The teleportation formation was so fast that even Jie Mubai would struggle to catch up with it. He looked up at the sky with determination in his eyes. He reached into his Cosmos Sack and took out a bizarre talisman paper.
This talisman paper emanated an Ancient Era’s aura, and it was shrouded in a light that continuously flickered between red and green. Its runes resembled specters, making it look incredibly sinister.
“Soul Talisman lock on. You have nowhere to hide,” Jie Mubai murmured.
The talisman paper burst into flames, transforming into an eerie aura that first coiled around where Chu Feng was before vanishing.
...
It didn’t take long for Chu Feng to leave the tombstone realm and return to space, thanks to the teleportation formation.
He didn’t stop after leaving the teleportation formation. He continued flitting ahead, making his way toward the location pinpointed on the map inside the tombstone realm. That was where the true treasure or legacy was.
He thought he could kill Jie Mubai with the sand and monopolize the treasure, but he didn’t expect Jie Mubai to acquire the candle that made him immune to the sandstorm.
Jie Mubai would surely head to that location too, but Chu Feng wouldn’t surrender the treasure easily to him. He might encounter Jie Mubai there, but it should be fine as long as he didn’t get into a direct confrontation with the latter.
If he could leverage the initiative he had claimed from deciphering the earlier tombstone, he might be able to stand up against Jie Mubai then.
That said, their earlier clash made him realize that Jie Mubai was no pushover, so he dared not let his guard down. Even while making his way toward the location, he extended his senses to the largest possible radius.
Shortly after, he sensed a dangerous aura approaching. It was Jie Mubai.
“How did you find me?” Chu Feng turned around and asked aloud.
He activated his Lightning Mark, Lightning Armor, Lightning Wings, and Lightning Aura, raising his cultivation from rank five to rank nine True God level. There was nothing in the direction he was looking.
“Kikiki...”
Space suddenly warped, and Jie Mubai appeared. “I didn’t expect you to sense me.”
He stopped and assessed Chu Feng from afar. “You’re not just a talented world spiritist but a prodigious cultivator too. You do have a bright future ahead of you. It’s a pity it will all end in my hands today.”
“Do you think you have the means to end my future?” Chu Feng mocked.
“Where can you escape now that you don’t have a teleportation formation?” Jie Mubai was confident in his ability as a rank two Heavenly Dragon World Spiritist. He didn’t think Chu Feng could give him the slip a second time.
He wouldn’t even fear a rank two Heavenly God level cultivator, let alone a rank nine True God level Chu Feng.
“How did you find me?” Chu Feng asked.
His teleportation formation had a bizarre configuration that should have made it impossible for Jie Mubai to trace his exit location. On top of that, Chu Feng had been concealing his aura with a concealment formation.
It shouldn’t have been possible for Jie Mubai to find Chu Feng.
Chu Feng had only extended his senses out of vigilance.
Yet, Jie Mubai still found him somehow.
“There are countless fortuitous encounters in the world. You aren’t the only lucky one.”
Instead of answering Chu Feng’s question, Jie Mubai raised his hand, and his spirit power morphed into a behemoth that reached forth to grab Chu Feng.
