Chapter 6380: Ambush!

Even after Tianjian Qingyuan disappeared in the vortex, Chu Feng continued staring at the vortex with a contemplative look.

“What’s wrong? Why are you standing in a daze?” Eggy asked.

“I’ve been cultivating hard, but there are still so many things I’m unable to deal with. I thought I was making progress, but I’m still unable to protect the people I care about,” Chu Feng said with a sigh.

“That’s just life. There’ll always be things beyond your control, even if you wield unparalleled strength. You’ll still have the same troubled face as before,” Eggy said.

“I don’t have a troubled face,” Chu Feng pointed out.

“You might not be showing it, but I know you’re worried about your grandmother. Don’t worry too much about it. If you aren’t strong enough, you just have to work harder. I know your big sister told you to steer clear of this place, but since we’re already here, we might as well explore the area. Let’s see which tombstones contain fortuitous encounters that can further your strength,” Eggy said.

“My thoughts exactly. Let’s go,” Chu Feng said as he turned around and made his way out.

By the time they left the fog, the members of the Heavensword Sacred Palace were already gone. They didn’t stop to wait for him. He wasn’t bothered by it as he wasn’t planning to travel with them in the first place.

Eggy, however, wasn’t happy with that.

“What’s wrong with the Heavensword Sacred Palace? How can they leave like that after Tianjian Qingyuan told them to help you? They have no gratitude at all!” Eggy grumbled.

“We didn’t tell them to wait for me, and they weren’t sure when I’d be coming out either. It’s normal for them to leave without me,” Chu Feng replied, thinking little about this matter.

When Chu Feng left the realm, he noticed the tombstone on the outside had become dull, though it didn’t become lifeless. It felt like an empty shell. It signaled that someone had claimed the tombstone’s legacy.

It was easy to tell whether a tombstone’s legacy had been claimed or not.

Tianjian Qingyuan likely chose this tombstone not because of its difficulty level, but because its legacy happened to be aligned with what they needed. It was not that hard to figure that out from the name of the tombstone’s owner, the Spirit Sword Reverent.

Since Chu Feng had decided to explore the Immemorial Cemetery, he should choose a tombstone that was helpful to him. Instead of venturing deeper in, he returned via the path he came from.

Soon, he arrived before one of the smaller tombstones in the Immemorial Cemetery. The tombstone looked ordinary and had no name on it, but Chu Feng still made his way toward it.

“Chu Feng, why did you choose this tombstone? It looks ordinary,” Eggy asked out of curiosity.

“While searching for my grandmother, I have also been assessing the tombstones along the way. I can’t see through some of the tombstones, and most of the ones I can see through aren’t of much use to me either. The ones that are useful to me exude different auras of danger.

“This tombstone is one of the less dangerous ones. Based on what I can see, it likely contains a fortuitous encounter related to world spiritist techniques,” Chu Feng explained.

“I thought you only had your grandmother in mind, but I guess that didn’t hinder your observations,” Eggy said with a laugh.

She thought Chu Feng had turned back because it was too dangerous to venture deeper into the Immemorial Cemetery. To think that he had already chosen a target.

Similar to the one before, this humongous tombstone was also shrouded in a layer of fog, and beyond the fog was a realm. This realm was monotonous in color, nowhere as beautiful as the one chosen by Tianjian Qingyuan.

The air felt heavy. The clouds, earth, mountains, and rivers were all gray. The realm felt suffocating and lifeless.

Whoosh!

A peculiar wind blew as soon as Chu Feng entered the realm, sweeping gray sand into the sky until it devoured him. The sand particles might be small, but they battered Chu Feng with great force reminiscent of little sharp knives. It was not lethal, but it ripped his skin.

At this rate, Chu Feng would be reduced to a pile of white bones.

“Are you fine, Chu Feng?”

Eggy wanted to rush out from the World Spirit Space when she noticed something was amiss about the sand, but Chu Feng exclaimed, “Don’t come out, Eggy. This is a formation. You won’t be able to withstand it either. I need to decipher the formation.”

So, Eggy stayed put and observed the situation. She trusted Chu Feng’s judgment.

Blood and flesh splattered from Chu Feng’s body. The sand bored countless holes in his body. The situation only seemed to worsen as time passed.

However, Chu Feng’s gaze remained unwavering as if he couldn’t feel any pain. He was focused on assessing the situation in search of a solution. It didn’t take long for his eyes to light up.

“Found it!”

Chu Feng formed a hand seal and released his spirit power in a special trajectory into the sand. His spirit power seemed to calm the sand. The sand fell back onto the ground, and the peculiar wind faded.𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

At the same time, a massive tombstone appeared in the distance.

“You’re incredible as always, Chu Feng,” Eggy complimented in excitement.

The tombstone should have been too far away for Chu Feng to see, but it seemed like the realm was guiding him to it as a reward for overcoming the trial.

“This must be a world spiritist’s tomb; there was a formation trial right after I entered this realm. On top of that, my concealment formation has been rendered useless,” Chu Feng said.

The master of this tombstone seemed to encourage competition.

“Chu Feng, how’s the difficulty level?” Eggy asked.

“It’s not easy, but I can handle it,” Chu Feng replied as he made his way to the tombstone.

Along the way, he noticed two fresh corpses devoid of origin energies. They must have failed to overcome the sand formation trial.

“Looks like some people have already entered this place,” Chu Feng said.

The sand formation posed a fatal danger to challengers, but it didn’t damage treasures. This could be seen from how Chu Feng’s clothes remained intact despite having countless holes bored into him earlier.

Most carcasses Chu Feng saw along the way had their clothes intact, but they were stripped of all their treasures. Chances were that their surviving companions had taken all their treasures.

Weng!

The sky suddenly glowed with incredible radiance, and humongous shackles emerged from the light and coiled around the realm. It was a sealing formation trapping everyone within the realm. However, this formation wasn’t intrinsic to this realm.
