Young Brother-in-law Is Now My Husband

Chapter 1489: Surprise

Chapter 1489: Surprise

Ming Lan picked up her phone and seeing the name on the screen, her excitement vanished. “Lian! I thought it’s him,” she mumbled and received the call.

“Why are you troubling me at this hour instead of troubling my brother, Ms Lu?” Ming Lan frowned.

“Mrs Wen, I thought you must be feeling lonely and missing your husband in his absence so I thought to not let you feel lonely,” came Lu Lian’s voice from the other side of the line.

Ming Lan sighed, “It sure feels lonely in this room.”

“He will be back soon,” Lu Lian assured and asked, “How was your day with in-laws after such a long time away from home?”

“It was good. I got to spend a nice time with Liwei and we talked about various things. She is so sweet.”

“Hmm, she is. But why are you sounding so low?”

“It’s just….they all are so good with me and I can’t stop feeling burdened with it. There is no way I can make up for their kindness towards me. All I can do is to be on the receiving end.”

“Hmm! You are right. They are good people.” There was a short pause and Lu Lian said again, “There is a way for you to repay for their kindness towards you.”

“What?” Ming Lan asked, curiosity took over her, “I will do anything for it.”

“Ahem!” Lu Lian cleared her throat, “Then you should not keep the son of that family virgin for long. Get him under you and get his bun in your oven…”

Cough! Cough!

“Are you okay, Lanlan?”

Ming Lan didn’t answer and stood up to get water for herself, “You shameless friend of mine? Cough!”

She heard Lu Lian laughing from the other side, “Did I say anything wrong? They will be happy if you give them a new generation of Wen family. And keeping their dearest son virgin for long, isn’t it unfair for him. Look at me? Did I starve your brother? I give him more than he asks of me. He is the happiest soul with me.”

“Shut up, you shameless soul. That blood of the Lu family clearly shows in you now.”

“Just to match the blood of the Ming family. Your grandfather and your brother, do you want me to tell you how shameless they can be?”

“Well, that’s true. You people really suit each other while I am perfectly fine with her with this decent family.”

“Shameless is a way to live.”

“How can be so sure if Zac is virgin?” Ming Lan asked.

“Uhm, I am not sure. I just said it. You can ask him once he is back.”

“As if it matters. Let it be. I am not going to ask,” Ming Lan said with an annoyed tone as her thoughts could not help but drift to Wen Zac. “He didn’t call me today.”

“Must be busy.”

“Here we are talking about having his child but…It might take a while.”

“Why do you sound so low again? Did something happen?”

“Uhm…Liwei told me today that Zac had someone he loved and he waited for her for so many years. I wonder if he would love and would be able to forget her.”

“Don’t think much. Our men are loyal types. If they are with us at the moment, they are only ours and doesn’t matter who they had loved in the past. Didn’t you like my brother Lu Qiang as well.”

“That was just a crush and not like I was waiting for him for so many years. I wonder how Zac would forget her after waiting for her so long?”

“I think he had already forgotten her the moment he decided to marry you. Or he would have never chosen to marry. People do move on and so he did, okay? Forget about his past and focus about what you two would do once he is back. You have to make up for these past six months.”

“I will try to,” Ming Lan said.

“That’s like a good girl. Now go to bed and sleep nicely. If you miss him too much, you know what to do.”

“What?”

“You are a grown up woman, Lanlan. Do I really need to explain it to you or teach you now? Even the high schoolers can give you an answer to this.”

Ming Lan understood what she meant and frowned, “You perverted and shameless woman,” and hung up the call.

Ming Lan lay in bed and turned off the lights. “This Lian is so shameless. I am not going to do anything like that.” Her heart beating a little faster, Ming Lan turned and tossed in bed. “I am not missing him for all those things. I am just missing him normally. She buried her face under the pillow, feeling frustrated, “I will wait for him… I won’t do it…I won’t do it…I am not a desperate one…”

—–

The next morning Ming Lan woke up with fluffy eyes as she could not sleep properly. She dragged herself out of the bed and went to freshen up. ‘Why does everything seem so boring and gloomy?’

She looked at the clock and realized she needed to hurry up and join other family members for breakfast. After getting ready, she went downstairs where she found the Grandmother in the drawing room, sitting in her wheelchair.

Good morning, Grandmother,” she greeted her.

“Morning dear. Did you have a good sleep?”

Ming Lan nodded and searched for others only to hear her grandmother, “Can you take me out dear?”

“Of course, Grandmother,” she pushed the wheelchair to take it out from the drawing room, to outside the home.

“Where are others, Grandmother?”

“You will find out once we go out,” Grandmother smiled while Ming Lan continued to push the wheelchair.

Just then Liwei crossed them. “Morning, Lanlan. There is a surprise for you.”

“Surprise?”

Liwei nodded with a pleasant smile, “Go check it yourself and leave grandmother to me.” Liwei pushed the wheelchair while Ming Lan walked with them with puzzled expressions and she saw someone she had not expected….

Wen Zac!

She paused in her tracks in shock as she watched him standing next to the car and talking to his parents while servants were pulling his bags out from the car. He looked a little tired, maybe due to the journey. His hair was a little messy with his jacket in his hand which a servant got from him.

As if Wen Zac sensed her presence, his gaze moved to look at her.

The moment their eyes met, it was like the entire world zeroed for Ming Lan. Other than him everything around blurred out for her, she could only see him and hear her own loud heart beats.
