Chapter 74 - Protect Yiling (1)

Chapter 74: Protect Yiling (1)

Yu Residence

Yu Xi scrolled through his phone in boredom.

Today, Master Sheng didn’t go outside. As a result, he had to stay at home with him.

In his boredom, Yu Xi opened the Shenghua High School Forum.

Ever since he saw the post on Jian Yiling last time, he would check the forum from time to time.

Abruptly, he saw another popular post that was related to Jian Yiling.

And it was a confession!

“What the hell? Where did this brat come from? Yiling is still so young. What does he want with her?” Yu Xi exclaimed as he scrolled through his phone.

Zhai Yunheng was sitting next to him. Previously, he had been furiously typing away on his computer but when he heard what Yu Xi said, he had abruptly stopped.

“What are you saying?”

“I’m talking about the girl next door. Yiling. Someone left a bunch of flowers and balloons in front of the school to confess to her. There’s also a banner!”

Whilst Yu Xi was answering, he flicked through the photos.

When he reached the last photo, he saw a picture of the man who was confessing.

The man had shifty looking eyes. He appeared to look malnourished and seemed to look like a juvenile delinquent.

“What the hell?”

Yu Xi suddenly jumped up from the sofa.

“What is this? This piece of trash wants to confess to Yiling? Why doesn’t he take a piss and take a good look at himself in the reflection?!” Yu Xi cried out in disgust. All the profanity and foul language that he knew surged through his mind.

“Pass me.”

As soon as Zhai Yunsheng spoke, Yu Xi quickly offered him his phone.

Silently, Zhai Yunsheng flicked through the post.

“Heh,” Zhai Yunsheng sneered.

###

In the laboratory, Cheng Yi received a message from Jian Yiling.

[Borrow me two security guards.]

The contract that Jian Yiling signed with the Huiling Medical Research Institution stated that the institution would be responsible for the safety of its members.

The security of the research institution couldn’t be underestimated. This was due to the fact that the talent and equipment in the institution were priceless. One could say that it was more valuable than the reserves in certain vaults and banks.

Furthermore, to the institution, the researchers were also incredibly prized.

And thus, the institution stated that they would be responsible for the safety of their researchers!

Although Jian Yiling hadn’t yet officially joined them, the contract was effective from the time they had signed it.

As a matter of fact, they had just signed the contract this morning! They had signed it when Jian Yiling had arrived at school.

The Huiling Medical Research Institution was afraid that if they delayed the signing, Jian Yiling might be signed by another research institution. Undue delay often caused hitches to occur.

That was the reason they had prepared the contract overnight. Early in the morning, they had arrived at Shenghua to wait for Jian Yiling to sign the contract.

Cheng Yi was quite shocked to receive a message from Jian Yiling. He quickly responded:

[What happened?]

[I’m in some trouble.]

[Where are you right now?] Cheng Yi asked hurriedly.

[School.]

[Wait there. I’ll send someone over right now. Don’t be scared.]

Cheng Yi didn’t know what troubles Jian Yiling was facing to need security personnel.

However, since she sent a message to him, it was evident that she needed help.

Cheng Yi quickly put down the work at hand.

Usually, it was enough to just send security personnel over. However, Cheng Yi was quite worried about the situation.

When he thought about someone bullying Jian Yiling, he couldn’t help but feel responsible to rescue the small and cute girl. She was the only ‘real’ female researcher in their institution. It was important for him to ensure the safety of their youngest member.

Just when Cheng Yi was about to leave, he got stopped by his colleague Luo Xiuen. Luo Xiuen was the other female researcher in the institute.

Before Jian Yiling’s signing, Xiuen was the only female researcher at their institute. However, she was only considered female because of her gender… If they were to talk in terms of psychology and strength…
