Chapter 4446: One Dead Another Coming

Chapter 4446: One Dead, Another Coming

My blade reached its face, in front of the large eye of Itornas.

The greatest mistake it had ever made was to use the water sphere. If it had used the direct attack, I might still have been fighting it.

The sphere had kept both of us in the same place. It was also less alert about me, thinking in the sphere, I couldn’t do anything to him.

It had made things much easier.

If we had fought with our blades, I would not only have had to keep thinking about my survival, but I would also have been more alert.

Things were not that easy in the sphere. My defences had reached the limit, but I had an easier time than I would have fighting blade to blade.

By the time it realized the sphere was not doing anything and deactivated it, it had already fallen into my trap.

This time, the trap is much better with a more powerful formation. I had learned a lot fighting the host in the forest and applied it here.

My blade was just a few inches away from its face when the Itornas moved.

It does not care about the host. It’s nothing more than a puppet to it. What matters most to it is its life.

Hun!

It came out of the head, but not the back as I had expected, but from the front, and it is coming at me.

Its intention is clear with its eyes; it wants me to become its new host. It is coming at me with blurring speed, and I can’t let it touch me.

Once it does, it will be very hard.

I didn’t expect it would do something like this, given all three itornas tried to escape through the back, but I had prepared for it.

It was just an inch away from my head when suddenly it came to a halt.

"Do you think it’s that easy?" I asked and pushed the formation to its full power to pull it into my core. It will be bad if it starts self-destructing before that.

There was resistance, hard enough that I wouldn’t be able to pull into my core forcefully without a lot of struggle. I don’t have time for that when the man is hiding and moving sneakily.

Buzz!

So, the formation I had prepared especially for this was activated. Stunning the itornas for a fraction of a second, with energy thick with forbidden power.

It’s very powerful; nothing else would work on it.

It had recognised what it was, the way its eyes went wide in recognition, and I could feel extreme joy even in such a condition, but the next moment, a shock appeared, and it disappeared.

Seeing that, I finally heaved a sigh of relief.

Now, it could do nothing, even the self-destruction would be useless.

Seeing that, I turned and looked at the invisible man who was coming toward me slowly. A few seconds more and he would have come dangerously close to me.

"You can stop hiding. Prime Haklin," I said, and a moment there was a silence, before the handsome blond, horned man with thin blood lines around it revealed himself.

Prime Haklin, the man with the blood-art, I had rescued the Prime Wolfden from.

"It seemed like my stealth was not as good as I expected," he replied with a smile. "It’s much better than the last time," I replied, and it’s the truth.

"Congratulations on your breakthrough, by the way," I added to the surprise of the man.

Yes, he made a breakthrough. It’s near impossible; I am saying near because a few people could manage. It’s extremely hard, but the arts are powerful.

"It was a massive risk, but worth it," he replied, and I smiled.

"It’s good, your strength has increased, but you should have realised by now. That, even with it, you could not kill me. Instead, you should be worried about your life," I said, and the man grinned.

It made me shudder deep within my heart.

There was a fear in its eyes. Instead, the madness that is willing to go to any height to achieve the things he wants.

"I know, it’s why I have a plan," he replied.

"What plan?" I asked. "To consume you, of course. Watching you fight, I had become even more sure that you’re something that will take me to the greatest heights," it replied, its eyes shining madly.

I opened my mouth, but saw the bloody runes had started to appear on its body.

Seeing that, I didn’t waste any time and ran away. Yes, I am powerful than him, but I have a feeling that attacking him directly isn’t a wise choice, running away is.

So, that’s what I did.

I ran at my fastest speed, wanting to get to the village as quickly as possible, but I was still far away. Enough, even the soul senses of the top three didn’t reach me, where I am.

"You cannot run away from this, Prime Arys," he replied from the back, with his voice turning strange.

I turned back and saw the dense, bloody mist begin to envelope it. I could feel the dense power of the arti from it, and it didn’t give me a good feeling.

Its why I had pushed myself faster. I have to get away from this madman.

Seconds passed, and then another, I ran with everything I had, when suddenly, all the hair on my body stood up.

I looked back and I saw the dense ball of bloody mist coming toward me and coming toward me fast. It is faster than I, so it wouldn’t take long for it to reach.

I wanted to burn my essence, but stopped. The bastard’s art is blood art, and so is its law.

It might help him if I had burned my blood.

So, I did the hardest thing. I stopped running and faced it. I will stop it with my power. I didn’t have to hold back for long, just enough that the power from the Itornas’ essence came.

It will make me stronger and give me a better chance of surviving against it.
