2700 Rocks II

“Lord Zaar, do you know what these shining stones are?” I asked Lord Remus, to which I shook my head and turned my eyes back to the little shining stone in my hand.

“Lord Remus, be careful when you touch these stones; the dangerous energy inside them wants to drill inside you the moment you touch them,” I warned him when I saw him moving to pick the stone from the ground.

This stone is heavier than one could imagine; just a tiny piece the size of my thumbnail weighed more than a hundred kilograms, and the thing is, it is not a rock but concentrated energy which had been solidified.

This whole cavern is filled with these rocks; there are hills of them here, and I do not have a damn idea what they do.

Though one thing is clear, they are valuable; this immensely dense energy is definitely valuable, and I am going to find out its value. I am sure, with enough experiments, I will be able to figure out what it does, which immensely for its value.

“Damn!” Lord Reyes cursed behind me as he picked up a rock similar size to the one in my hand. Its energy seemed to have stung him, but he did not throw it away. Instead, he created the isolation shield around the rock, which seemed to have calmed the enemies of the rock.

“These things are nasty,” he said, but he observed it for a while before putting it in a crystal box. I also handed the stone to my clone for the experiments and walked inside the cavern while spreading sound sense around.

The range is only a few hundred meters, which is still better than nothing. The normal soul sense did not work here; the energies here eat that away.

Which is another interesting thing I have noticed about energy; it affects soul energy hard, while the regular soul energy also affects the soul energy, but not this much; it is too aggressive toward the soul and not just the soul, but other things too.

My clone had just performed some experiments and found it aggressive toward the flesh, as well as toward the soul; it is not just that; it is aggressive toward everything.

About half an hour passed when I turned to Lord Remus, “This energy is the reason why the resources on the red-dust hill are so different,” I said to him. “This energy is too destructive; it should have destroyed everything?” he asked.

I smiled at that.

“Adaptability Lord Remus, the plants above got used to this energy, and they are not getting this directly. It is being purified by the rocks and soul and other things before reaching the plants in a tiny amount,” I explained.

I have already expected that much when I have seen the rocks, but after some looking around, I found out my guess is true.

Now, I want to see where this energy is coming from; I could tell it is coming from the ground, but I could not tell how and what from, and my soul sense has a hard time going deeper than a few meters; as th floor, itself made of the shining rock.

I might not be able to find out the due density of this energy, but I want to try. It will be interesting if I am able to find a source of this energy; it will help me in determining the use of this energy.

I am tuning my soul sense to this energy, and slowly, I am able to seep it further into the ground. My soul senses have already crossed the ten meters, and the distance is increasing by minutes; I just hope I will be able to seep my soul sense a few hundred meters deep, which might be able to provide me with some answers.

Nearly an hour passed, and my soul sense had reached a little over hundred meters deep when I had made a breakthrough in tuning.

As I did it, a change occurred; the resistance I was feeling with the energy vanished. I did not waste any time and pushed my soul to sense deeper fast; this breakthrough came with the cost; I am burning a large amount of rule-bending power by the second.

So, I have almost half a minute to look for a source before I have to call back my soul sense.

Gasp!

Ten seconds, fifteen seconds, twenty seconds, at twenty-two seconds, when my soul sensed I had reached nearly eight miles down when I saw something shocking before I had cut my soul sense down; the thing down there had sensed me.

“Lord Zaar, are you all right?” He asked as I crouched down weakly; “I am fine,” I replied a moment later and got up, taking a deep breath.

Cutting soul sense had cost me, but I will heal from it in an hour; my clone had already activated soul healing formation, and I increased the tempo of the soul cleansing method, which I am constantly circulating, even in my sleep.

“Were you able to find something?” asked Lord Remus when I was finally able to calm myself. “Yes, but it is not something we can deal with,” I said.

“We have stayed here enough; let us collect some samples and leave,” I said before he could inquire further.

I might have answered the question he had in his mind if I had known the answer myself. I was able only able to see it for a moment before being forced to cut my soul sense. Though what I saw is recorded, I will study it, as it is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen.

It has made a deep impact on my mind, and I have already decided it is one of the things I will investigate deeply when I reach the Grandmaster class.

I feel like, at that time, I will be able to look at it more clearly.

It took us a few minutes to collect the samples before we walked toward the exit; once we reached the exit, it took us a couple of seconds to reach outside.

“Has anything happened while we are out?” I asked when I reached the group. All of them have already gathered and waiting for us worriedly; this area is extremly dangerous; even Grandmasters here are chickens waiting to slaughter.

In this ruin, they barely have any power and are just glorified herb pickers.

“Yes, not far from here, two huge Grandmaster class birds fought….” Johan gave short detail of the battle, and I listened even though I knew what had happened.

A grandmaster class bird arrived not long after we entered the cavern, but Ashlyn fought it and burned it to the ashes. The only thing that bird had survived was its core.

“We are finished here; let go,” I said after I calmed them with my few words.

BOOM!

A minute later, the shuttle took the air, and Nero once again came out of me and jumped into the embrace of heaven. I did not say anything to him; these people need something to focus on after what they have experienced.
