Chapter 277: I Like Horse Riding
“Pick anything you like. He has a diamond mine. You don’t have to save anything for him.” Song Mian stood up and smiled at Yun Xiangxiang. “I’ll do some checkup for you.”
Bhamra grinned at Song Mian before leaving with him. Someone like Bhamra must have their family physician or machines for a checkup at home.
Song Mian might be great at Chinese medicine, but he needed to respect the foreigner’s way of treatment. He probably went to look at the records left by the family physician or used the machines for the checkup.
Bhamra didn’t look young. He must be around forty, and yet he didn’t have a wife. That’s why nobody entertained Yun Xiangxiang. He let her choose a gift because he didn’t want to disrespect Yun Xiangxiang.
Yun Xiangxiang went through the albums, taking it as a chance to know more about diamonds. She didn’t know much about them.
She knew the common white diamonds. She knew about clarity and weight too. The album listed the color grade and cut grade.
Color did not refer to color per se. It referred to the level of colorless impurities inside the diamond. It didn’t conflict with clarity. Clarity referred to both inside and outside of the stone.
Yun Xiangxiang knew there were pink, red, and blue diamonds. She saw green ones in MonRoe before. She had heard of yellow ones.
It wasn’t a complete list of colors. The red diamonds were classified into blood red, rose red, pink, and more. The blues, yellows, and greens were differentiated according to the shade of their hue. There were even dazzling golden diamonds.
She also saw grays and blacks for the first time, although only in picture.
Only then did she know diamonds were as colorful as jades were.
It wasn’t easy to choose. But she had to. Foreigners were different from the Chinese.
To them, refusal wasn’t politeness, but rather, contempt. They owed Song Mian. One gift wouldn’t be able to repay him, but it was their way of showing courtesy.
The pictures didn’t say the price of the stones. Every one of them was of excellent quality. She remembered the time when she chose the ghost orchid when she was in Song Manor.
Yun Xiangxiang was worried if she would choose the most expensive one by accident. It would be a bit discourteous.
Bhamra wouldn’t mind, as he did ask her to choose. She knew that.
It would be fine if she liked it. But the point was that she didn’t like diamonds that much. If she took the most expensive one away, she would feel awkward.
Yun Xiangxiang struggled for a long time. Even when Song Mian had returned, she was still flipping through the album in a dilemma.
“Why? You don’t see anything you like?” Song Mian sat beside her.
When she saw Bhamra looking at her puzzledly, she said, “There’s a lot here. I don’t know what to choose.”
She wasn’t lying. There were nearly fifty of them. All were dazzling. Any woman would have no idea what to choose.
Yun Xiangxiang was about to push the album to Song Mian when Bhamra said, “Do I have the honor to choose for you?”
She couldn’t refuse him, so she nodded. “Thank you. I don’t understand diamonds.”
Bhamra noticed the lack of jewelry on Yun Xiangxiang. As Song Mian’s beloved, only one explanation was possible: This lady wasn’t obsessed with jewelry.
But that didn’t mean she hated it. This was his family’s specialty. He would only give them to distinguished guests.
Bhamra was very familiar with his own thing. He quickly flipped to some pages. “This, this, and this,” he said to his reliable assistant.
Yun Xiangxiang rubbed her forehead. She didn’t even want one, but Bhamra chose three for her straight away…
Yun Xiangxiang looked at Song Mian. Her gaze said, “Is this okay?”
Song Mian held her hand. He smiled but did not stop Bhamra. Since even Song Mian said so, Yun Xiangxiang stopped thinking about it.
It wasn’t dinner time yet. Bhamra invited Song Mian for a golf session. Yun Xiangxiang knew nothing about elegant sports like this.
Song Mian knew his girlfriend knew nothing about it. “I would prefer horse riding.”
Bhamra respected his guest’s opinion. He immediately asked his servant to get some riding outfits. He had a riding hall himself. And he had some horses.
Yun Xiangxiang knew how to ride a horse, thanks to her playing in ancient-era dramas in her past life. She didn’t have any equestrianism, though.
Song Mian didn’t know if she could ride a horse, but playing golf wouldn’t be a great way to interact with her. He could take care of Yun Xiangxiang and talk with Bhamra if it was horse riding.
When they arrived at the riding hall, Bhamra forgot about Song Mian and started galloping on his beloved horse.
Song Mian picked a more docile horse and instructed Yun Xiangxiang on how to ride it. He even led it around a few rounds for her.
“I’m letting go. Can you go for a few rounds yourself?” Song Mian thought it was almost time.
Yun Xiangxiang nodded, “Yes, I can.”
Song Mian let it go and retreated to the sides. Yun Xiangxiang didn’t dare make the horse gallop like Bhamra. She only slowly rode it.
She sped up a bit in the end, but not too fast. She didn’t have this experience before. It wasn’t like flying, but she could feel the unbridled freedom in the horse’s sprint.
Song Mian also rode a horse alongside her.
“Horse riding feels amazing,” Yun Xiangxiang turned to Song Mian.
“Do you like it?” Song Mian asked.
“En.” Yun Xiangxiang nodded.
Her smile was like a blossoming flower. As the sun shone down upon her, she looked bright and dazzling.
Song Mian made a mental note of raising a horse belonging to her when he got back. She could take it for a ride to de-stress when she was unhappy or tired from work.
Going for a few rounds tired her out, but she felt energetic in mind. Dinner was served right after she bathed.
Bhamra arranged the specialty here as dinner for them. Yun Xiangxiang had a different kind of sausage, which was made of beef. It had a distinctive taste.
Noticing Yun Xiangxiang loving it, Bhamra gave her a lot when they were leaving. He even gave her some packaged ones.
Yun Xiangxiang needed a whole car to take everything back with her to China.
Yun Xiangxiang was reluctant to leave, but she had to. Her exam was one of the reasons, the other being her interrupting Song Mian’s work too much.
Song Mian sent her off. Yun Xiangxiang chuckled. Previously, she was the one sending him now. Now that their roles were reversed, it amused her. The sadness of separation was taken away somewhat.
She slept throughout the flight. Song Yao would wake her up for meals. Little did she know that upon her return to China, big news would await her.
