Hello Mr. King

Chapter 201 - The Awesome Future Mother-in-Law

Chapter 201: The Awesome Future Mother-in-Law

“Do you know about your sister having a boyfriend?” Yun Zhibin was planning to interrogate Yun Xiangxiang after sobering her up.

But when he looked at how his daughter cried like a poor creature who might be abandoned while hugging his wife just now, he couldn’t take his anger out on her. He could only interrogate Yun Lin.

Yun Lin didn’t dare to lie now that things had escalated to this point. “I know.”

“When did you know about this?” Yun Zhibin looked gravely at his son.

“Elder sister brought me to see Brother Mian during the trip to New York last year,” Yun Lin confessed.

“Brother Mian? That’s affectionate,” Yun Zhibin was alarmed at the affection his son showed to his daughter’s so-called boyfriend.

It seems this man not only knows how to mystify little girls. He could even deceive children.

“Dad, Brother Mian is a very nice person,” Yun Lin defended Song Mian.

“Nice? I can see that for myself,” Yun Zhibin sneered.

When one had a distaste for someone, everything they did would be wrong in their eyes. That was what Yun Zhibin felt about Song Mian now.

As a teacher for the people, he shouldn’t arrive at such a one-sided conclusion. But Yun Xiangxiang was his daughter whom he raised meticulously for eighteen years.

Nobody could understand how he felt as a father when he saw that scene. He was just an ordinary man now!

His daughter was only eighteen. She might be a legal adult, but she was still a little girl in his eyes. How dare…

The more he thought about it, the higher his temper flared, and the worse he looked.

The air was suddenly heavy. Yun Lin was scared of his father since he was a child. He might have never scolded them, but he forbade anyone from challenging his authority.

“Talk it out nicely. Don’t vent at the kids,” Su Xiuling saw the interrogation after she returned from coaxing Yun Xiangxiang. She patted Yun Lin’s shoulder, “It’s late now. Get some sleep.”

“I am already holding myself back now. You have no idea what I saw earlier!” Yun Zhibin was already enraged. Now that he was chastised by his wife who knew nothing, he raised his voice when he spoke.

“Let’s go back to our room. People are looking at us,” Su Xiuling dragged Yun Zhibin back to their room.

The room belonged to Yun Lin. They couldn’t keep on staying in Song Qian and Ai Li’s room after all. Yun Lin cleverly said the unit on the story below theirs was the staff’s dorm arranged by He Wei. Since Coco and the others were there, he moved downstairs.

“Xiangxiang is already eighteen. She’s in university now. Sooner or later she will have a boyfriend,” Su Xiuling poured a glass of water for Yun Zhibin. “You are overreacting.”

“I’m overreacting? She went to university early, that’s all. Many kids are still in high school when they’re eighteen!” Yun ZHibin refused to talk about how impacted he was by the scene he saw when the elevator door opened.

“Lower your voice. Don’t wake Yun Ting up,” Su Xiuling looked at her youngest son, who was fast asleep, and warned Yun Zhibin. “I can roughly make out what you saw when I saw our daughter.”

Su Xiuling was not stupid. The reason for her daughter’s swollen lips, the reason for her usually reasonable husband being so unreasonable, she could more or less guess it.

“It’s worse than you think,” Yun Zhibin was somber.

Su Xiuling sat beside him, “Xiangxiang is our daughter. If he wanted to take advantage of her when she’s drunk, he wouldn’t send her home that quickly. Neither would you have bumped into them.”

“That Song guy is a rich one, I can see it from how he dresses up. Heavens know if it’s because he’s emboldened by money.”

Yun Zhibin not being rich did not stop him from having students that were kids of wealthy people, especially those who were disobedient. He would have to see their parents frequently. Yun Zhibin’s judgment sharpened from all those meetings.

“Yun Zhibin, if you keep on arguing with me and refuse to talk peacefully, you’ll have to go downstairs to share the room with our son,” Su Xiuling replied coldly.

Yun Zhibin looked at his wife and sat there sulking to himself without saying anything.

The pregnant pause kept on for a few minutes before Su Xiuling broke it. “Yun Lin might be a young child, but he’s really smart. He protects his sister like no one else does. If the guy isn’t really true to Xiangxiang, Yun Lin wouldn’t have been bought over to his side with just minor treats. He’s better than that.”

Their children might not be raised in a wealthy household, but they didn’t lack anything when they were growing up. And their great upbringing manifested in their characters.

When Su Xiuling heard Yun Lin defending Song Mian, she knew that Song Mian may a decent guy. Yun Lin didn’t have anything expensive on him after all.

Since her own son wouldn’t be tempted by money, by the same process, her daughter wouldn’t fall for just money or looks.

As their mother, Su Xiuling knew exactly how her kids behaved. Yun Lin was a snobbish boy whose arrogance topped everything. He wouldn’t be satisfied if Song Mian didn’t have any outstanding talents.

Since he could be acknowledged by both Yun Xiangxiang and Yun Lin, Song Mian left a decent impression on Su Xiuling.

“We should reflect on ourselves first,”Su Xiuling continued.

“We should reflect on ourselves first?” Yun Zhibin was incredulous.

“And you call yourself a teacher. Your son told you that they have been a couple for more than half a year. Why did they hide it from you and me?” Su Xiuling gave him a look of contempt.

“They feel guilty for committing a crime,” Yun Zhibin answered unhesitatingly.

Su Xiuling snorted. She took a pillow and threw it to him. “Scram. Now.”

Yun Zhibin caught the pillow, but Yun Zhibin refused to leave. If he left, his wife would give him the cold shoulder for a month.

Su Xiuling was a well-educated woman. She wouldn’t argue, but she would use the silent treatment, which was worse than arguing.

“Then tell me what we should reflect on?” It wasn’t his first time surrendering to his wife. Yun Zhibin was excellent at this.

“Reflect on why they want to hide it from us!” Su Xiuling repeated herself. “Because she knew we would object. Even so, she still got together with him behind our backs. What does this tell us?”

“What does it tell us…?”

Su Xiuling looked exasperated, “It tells us that Xiangxiang cares about this man a lot. If you do not handle this wisely, don’t say I didn’t tell you so when she becomes distant from you sooner or later.”

“She would abandon her own father for a man?” Yun Zhibin’s rage flared again.

Su Xiuling was icy, “I worry about you more than I do my own father now!”

“You are my wife!”

“So your daughter won’t marry for life?”

“But she’s only eighteen!”

Yun Zhibin didn’t even think about Xiangxiang’s marriage, since it was a distant prospect.

“I married you when I was nineteen, and was pregnant with Xiangxiang when I was twenty-one. You didn’t think I was young back then..”

Yun Zhibin, “…”

Yun Zhibin found himself at a loss for words as he was met with his wife’s look of disdain. He could only reply weakly, “It was a different time…”

“Different feelings you mean. Of course there’s a difference between marrying a wife and marrying off your daughter,” Su Xiuling interrupted him unhappily.

Yun Zhibin shut up obediently. If he kept on talking, he would be punished by his wife.

“You have to back off a bit in this situation. If you want to keep your daughter for a few more years, you have to be smart about it.”

Since their relationship was a reality now, they could only plan for the long term.

She didn’t believe a pair of understanding parents would lose out to a boyfriend.

It’s still too early for you to marry my daughter!
