Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5189: Twin Stones

Chapter 5189: Twin Stones

A while ago underneath the tribulation site where Davis had became an Empyrean and was currently facing the Celestial Transcendent, Fairy Runalise had just asked the Celestial Transcendent if he could take responsibility if the Divine Emperor of Death manages to escape to which the Celestial Transcendent returned a question, asking her if she could take responsibility if something went wrong and the Divine Emperor of Death accidentally makes the Desolate Era even worse instead.

Fairy Runalise’s heart was shaken, but she could only determinedly respond that she would give up her life.

"Truly, your one life wouldn’t be worth it at all compared to the lives of quadrillions. We don’t know what will happen if we let him succeed, and it is precisely why we must stop him no matter the cost."

The Celestial Transcendent responded and turned to look at Davis as he brought out the Stormheart Incarnation Prism. It arced with its strange yet terrifying golden lighting that gave Davis a strong sense of danger.

"I assure you he wouldn’t be able to escape."

"..."

Davis also turned to look back at the Celestial Transcendent, his lips curling into a wide smile.

"We’ll see about that."

With the black-white stone in one hand and the white stone in the other, he poured his soul force into them, causing their surfaces to rumble with death energy. Then, he poured the energy from the black-white stone into the white stone. The energy from the white stone rose into the air, enveloping him in its deathly warmth instead of deathly chill. His chaotic body absorbed the air of this death energy that seemed different than the norm.

It was an amalgamation ghostly yang energy.

The Celestial Transcendent took a step forward, descending on Davis.

*Bzzz!~*

Golden lightning arcs shot out of the Stormheart Incarnation Prism, striking Davis.

With a wave of his hand, Davis summoned a deathly scythe manifestation as he made a defensive maneuver. He swung the scythe in circular and diagonal motions, allowing him to strike the golden lightning arcs from various angles.

*Bang!~* *Bang!~* *Bang!~*

The Celestial Transcendent’s gaze flickered as he saw Davis defend against it.

He was momentarily in disbelief as this rascal’s prowess grew to the layer limit abruptly and silently.

His gaze fell on the white stone replica, making him wonder what kind of replica it was exactly. He knew it could raise ghosts and corpses, but he never imagined that it could also increase one’s prowess phenomenally. This didn’t happen when he was chasing the ghost.

Did this mean that this fellow was able to bring the replica’s true abilities out?

The Celestial Transcendent narrowed his eyes, continuing to attack with the Stormheart Incarnation Prism.

Golden lightning bolts formed at the three edges of the prism, the lightning glowing brilliantly as though they were supercharged before continually striking Davis. He wanted to see how long the Divine Emperor of Death could hold out since this divine lightning was known to suppress life energy and death energy, the two energies that governed over life and death, and by extension, also had a suppression over nirvanic energy.

In this case, he guessed even Davis’s reincarnation energy would be somewhat suppressed. By how much? He didn’t know since he had never faced someone with the ability to use reincarnation energy.

Not even a Divine Phoenix possessed reincarnation energy. Their domain was nirvana, the ability to transcend reincarnation through self, but in his opinion, it was the ability to bypass reincarnation. It was not the ability to have control over it like the Divine Emperor of Death was capable of.

Hence, he believed the Stormheart Incarnation Prism alone was enough to do the job.

*Bang!*

Another golden lightning bolt exploded against the curved blade, but it didn’t extinguish the death energy as he expected.

*Bzzzt!~*

Sparks of gold and black-white essence scattered through the sky as Davis spun. His robes fluttered violently as his scythe carved a crescent arc.

*Rippp!~*

The golden lightning split apart as he strode towards the Celestial Transcendent after each strike, getting closer despite the threat of the Stormheart incarnation Prism.

Fairy Runalise’s pupils trembled.

Fairy Divinacia, Laphria Rinmei, Jaiyan, and Fairy Qiyra Darkstar also seemingly paused, unable to believe that the one who brought up the plan was acting differently than the plan. They found it hard to match his pace already, but they clenched their teeth and followed what was instructed and expected of them.

The Celestial Transcendent’s gaze turned solemn.

He expected that damn scythe manifestation to have disappeared by now, cracked and broken. However, not only could he feel the hint of a Phyletic Law behind its swings, but he could also sense that this death energy was different in a way that made the Stormheart Incarnation Prism unable to overwhelm it.

The more golden lightning strikes he unleashed, the more he saw Davis repelling them effortlessly.

By all right, it should be paralyzing him, and he should be able to effortlessly throw him into the Stormheart Incarnation Prism!

That was how it always went when he or the others used this Peak Primarch Grade Replica for hunting Divergents, Fiends, and even villains who brought too much harm to the world.

This little Empyrean should be in the Prism by now, but his sudden increase in prowess to the layer limit made it more than problematic.

Suddenly, the golden lightning bolts stopped attacking Davis.

Davis also came to a pause, seeing that the Celestial Transcendent was keeping the Stormheart Incarnation Prism inside his ring as he descended to his level.

"What? Coming to rob my replicas now?" Davis chuckled.

The black-white stone that he had from earlier had long fused with him and grown alongside him. Hence, it was a High-Level Exalt Grade Treasure, also capable of raising his prowess to High-Level Exalt Stage, perhaps Level Nine Exalt Stage.

However, the white stone he obtained from the Ghost Tear Hall’s Founder was already at Peak-Level Exalt Grade. It was at the pinnacle of the Second Layer when he had already gotten his hands on it.

It was just that the Ghost Tear Hall’s Founder could barely use it, as all he could do was raise corpses and ghosts, control them, and then keep his ghost body corporeal and attain higher cultivation with it. The Ghost Tear Hall Founder’s death-attributed soul physique alone didn’t manage to invoke the white stone’s true abilities, and more importantly, he lacked the black-white stone.

Davis knew these two replicas were actually one!

Together, they were a whole, and he was currently using the white stone through the black-white stone, allowing them to show their true abilities.

He could only imagine what kind of force they would be able to put out if he fused these two treasures.

However, he didn’t dare force it since he knew there was an instinctive Will within the white stone. It wasn’t a spirit, but it sure preferred him over the Ghost Tear Hall’s Founder, allowing him to obtain it easily. Hence, he was worried that the black-white stone’s instinctive Will that was barely forming slowly might also be consumed by it.

After all, these two treasures have spent a lifetime away from each other due to being split or broken, although whether it was intentional or not, he didn’t know.

He could only ask the World Master after he wakes her up from the dead.

"Indeed."

The Celestial Transcendent slowly inched towards Davis, "With these treasures in your hands, I realize that there is very little the Stormheart Incarnation Prism can do, so I will pry it from your hands by myself."

*Whoosh!~*

Davis flicked his sleeves and showed his hands like a magician. His palms were empty. The twin stones were gone.

"Who said I need to have them in my hands to use them?"

"..."

The Celestial Transcendent turned dumbfounded, momentarily pausing. His expression then turned solemn as he realized that this brat’s reincarnation soul physique was extremely compatible with the replicas that he’s using from his soul sea with the highest authority possible.

Otherwise, the replicas might rebel, even instinctively. And which other person would dare to use the uncontrollable replicas from their own soul unless they wished to die quickly?

Moreover, it didn’t seem like the replicas were taking a heavy toll on his psyche either, which he guessed was thanks to his Enigmatic Will.

In that case, it was going to be difficult to pry them from him until he reaches inside his soul or kills himself.

"Well," The Celestial Transcendent flicked his sleeves before taking out a chaotic sword, "Guess I’ll have to pierce through your soul now with my old partner."

"..."

Davis’s lips parted lightly as he saw the rusted gray sword.

It was a real chaos sword, much like his own Lancelot, the chaos-attributed spear. But Lancelot was so weak.

He recently had a plan for Yama’s significant growth, but for Lancelot, he was still lacking materials. He thought of taking Mira’s horn or fang to improve it, but that lass had already sacrificed so much. He didn’t want to use her like that, and if he asked, he knew she would give it without making a fuss.

She was kind-hearted and loved her people, especially him and Isabella.

Hence, he didn’t dare ask her. But now, he started seeing a path for Lancelot.

He started gazing at that Peak Exalt Grade Sword strangely, his lips going dry and his throat silently gulping.

"..."

The Celestial Transcendent felt strange, but with a step forward, he directly appeared before Davis, his steps leaving a pulse after each step but making no ripple within the space nor the other’s senses, so that it became practically difficult to sense his movements.

’Chaotic Pulse Steps.’

’Realm Severing Sword!’

With his hands raised and the rusty silver sword in his grasp, he brought down the dense world of chaos against the Divine Emperor of Death, intending to split him into two.
