Chapter 5161: Accidentally Exposed?
Davis walked past the concealment barrier and smiled at the elders who were seated crossed-legged on their cultivation cushions.
The moment he came out, they opened their eyes and turned to look at him with expectant eyes.
"City Lord, how was it?" Morvane Family’s Patriarch instantly asked, "Did they make good use of the opportunity?"
He didn’t seem to be the type to be talkative, but he seemed impatient right now.
Davis made a perfunctory glance at him before looking at the Abyssal Radiance Empire’s Grand Elder. He raised his hands respectfully and cupped them as he brought them near his face.
"Congratulations to the Abyssal Radiance Empire for begetting such an extreme talent."
"Ah? Hahahaa!"
The Abyssal Radiance Empire’s Grand Elder rose up from the cultivation cushion before his feet landed on the ground. He laughed expressively, his expression full of smiles as he nodded.
"Good, good. That young lad didn’t disappoint. His imperial father would be proud."
"Congratulations!"
"Congratulations, Grand Elder!"
The other elders- Morvane Family’s Patriarch, Grayscale Poison Hound Clan’s Patriarch, and Blackcurse Voidfang Eel Clan’s Patriarch all respectfully congratulated the white-haired Grand Elder draped in a black-white robe.
"It’s not much." The Grand Elder spoke, "Our Abyssal Radiance Empire has always been at the top. I’m more interested in seeing what our other promising youths have achieved."
City Lord Davis smiled as he gestured back, "Please."
The Grand Elder caressed his white beard as he walked past him.
The rest of them followed suit.
They entered the secluded chamber, but the moment they took a few steps in, the stench of blood filled the air.
"This is!?"
City Lord Davis instantly said with a sigh, "Aiya, these two youths, Harmon and Girias, colluded with Thousand Windblades and tried to poison and attack the other two as they planned to take the energy in this spring for themselves. Fortunately for the Crown Prince, I chose to intervene."
"Curses!"
The Abyssal Radiance Empire’s Grand Elder saw Crown Prince Wilxes Ingrimm lying in front of the empty spring as he rushed to him, "I knew we shouldn’t have trusted those bastards from the Anarchic Divergent’s world!"
"Indeed, they were always suspicious!"
The Grayscale Poison Hound Clan’s Patriarch roared before he turned around and pointed.
"Morvane Family and Malark Clan, what is the meaning of this? If you don’t have an explanation today, then don’t blame me for being ruthless!"
"This..."
The Morvane Family’s Patriarch and the Blackcurse Voidfang Eel Clan’s Patriarch were both stupefied as they glanced back and forth between the half-severed bodies and the other two, who only looked poisoned. They knew Girias and Harmon weren’t exactly righteous youths, but surely, they wouldn’t be this stupid, right?
’Wait...’
Just when everyone felt something was wrong, as the City Lord had initially said that Crown Prince Wilxes Ingrimm had shown great results, but he was here, appearing to have fainted from poison- then noticing every other discrepancy, like the puddle of blood filling the crevices, their cultivation bases basically being the same as the time when they went inside, showing no changes at all, all of it pointed at something else.
Just before the obvious answer could dawn upon them, they heard the City Lord’s voice.
"Everyone, listen to my words! Everything will be solved!"
Those words were like light shining in the darkness, instantly catching their attention as well as their Will.
Something within them changed without them even realizing it as they turned to look at him.
That enigmatic voice sounded once more, appearing unbearably calm and elusive.
"Just be my loyal slaves."
Davis’s expression turned cold as he uttered, his voice infused with Corruption of Will using State of Divine Possession.
"Yes, master~" The Grayscale Poison Hound Clan’s Patriarch was the first one to collapse as he went on his knees.
His black-green hair fur patches over his body seemed to be standing as he appeared to have experienced goosebumps. It was unknown if it was because he was emotionally moved by gaining a master, or his scalp had turned numb when he realized it was a Will attack at the last moment.
"Your wish is my command, master." The Blackcurse Voidfang Eel Clan’s Patriarch said as he cupped his hands and bowed.
His purple hair swayed ever so lightly as his body, draped in a luxurious brown robe, quivered, but he still managed to offer a pleasant smile with his scary face.
"I have a new master from now on."
The Abyssal Radiance Empire’s Grand Elder turned around while still kneeling and cupped his hands towards Davis.
"This old fool is willing to serve you for life."
"You-"
However, there was one who seemed to be resisting against the Corruption of Will.
It was none other than the Morvane Family’s Patriarch who was clad in a luxurious purple robe, his purple hair rising into the air as he seemed to be using all his soul’s prowess.
"Oh?"
Davis raised one of his brows, "Interesting. Is this because you have a tempered Will or because you possess the innate bloodline power of blood and darkness to have better control or protect the body and soul, and in essence, protect the Will better than the others?"
He walked towards the Morvane Family’s Patriarch as he overlooked him, not because he rose to the air but because the Morvane Family Patriarch’s knees were bending.
His Will was resisting, but his body had already given up!
The dissonance made Davis raise his other brow before chuckling, "So interesting to see the connection between blood and soul fusion at the Primarch Stage and their intricate link to the Will’s defense. Oh well- I’ll say it a second time."
He leaned closer before saying it to his face, "Become- my- loyal slave."
*!!!*
The Morvane Family Patriarch’s mind boomed out with an indecipherable urge to believe and stay loyal to this black-robed, blond-haired man at the cost of his life! He couldn’t resist even though he belatedly realized that this man in front of him was the Divine Emperor of Death and not the City Lord!
The others also more or less realized who he was because Davis had connected his karmic thread with them since he didn’t want them listening to City Lord Kain later on.
The Morvane Family Patriarch’s Will swayed, and eventually, he felt the man before him was his true master, the man who would lead him to a fulfilled subordinate life- wholeheartedly so.
He had been corrupted.
With a sudden curl of his lips, he smiled cruelly, "Please say the word, master. As long as you need me, I will move heaven and earth for you. My hidden Laughing Hexamaniacs branch is also yours to command against the Heaven’s Warriors."
Davis nodded complacently, but his eyes widened as he blurted out, "Eh?"
While Davis was suddenly caught off-guard by this information, Jillian Hayden and Zevonn Malark felt their scalps turn numb. They had already taken a few steps back in fright, even though they were in the shadows.
What the fuck did they just see here!?
