Chapter 4711 Heading Into The Death Zone
Above the Eternal Eclipse Bird, a pair of humans made their way through the dense forest, which slowly became sparser and sparser. Numerous mounds wrapped in dark and gloomy trees appeared, and there was a coiling, tail-like, small mountain range that blocked their path.
"That mountain should be the one…" Davis said.
After they crossed this mountain, there should be a barren land, which signifies a complete drop in elemental heaven and earth energy. It was the start of the path to the death zone.
"Are you ready?"
He turned to look at Fairy Thunderblaze.
She gazed at the mountain with some trepidation in her heart. Reason told her that she wouldn't survive there without Davis, but she was already here, and he brought her all the way here, intending to fulfill her request. Of course, she had her trump cards to chart an escape, but that was that. She didn't think she could battle this bloody carnage, which the spirits were wary about.
On their way, they stopped by some pocket realms that house spirits.
They also feared them, but seeing that they weren't harmful, they looked at them curiously.
Davis used their curiosity to get more information on the death zone, and it appeared that not a single brave soul that ventured in managed to survive to even tell the tale. All they knew was that this bloody carnage was singlehandedly responsible for creating many departed souls and even Abhorrent Spirits.
With elemental heaven and earth energy out of the way, the land of death produced death and yin aura, creating a ghost region and eventually giving birth to ghost attribute spirits and even ghost human souls that had died long ago.
Nonetheless, she nodded, turning to glance at him, "We rested enough. But are you sure you really want to enter? You have more to lose than me, even if you're undying."
This was the fifth morning after they ventured past the Myriad Coiling Spirit Peak. They got enough rest last night despite engaging in discussions regarding Thunderfire Laws and Obliteration Laws for the past two days.
Davis opened his mouth, wanting to say if she was going to ask that after bringing him all the way here, but didn't.
"After hearing about the blood carnage Calamity, I can't possibly sit back. It would become an important resource for me and Schleya to enter the Exalt Stage. Its blood energy should be endless and give me enough vitality, and then inversely improve my Chaotic Genesis Physique's prowess."
Davis had branched out into Space Law within the Chaotic Genesis Physique with Stella, but if he could use blood to do that again, it would be incremental. Considering this blood carnage Calamity was capable of replicating others; he imagined that there must be an iota of chaos energy involved. At the same time, it would be a breakthrough for creating a powerful avatar.

"Alright," Fairy Thunderblaze nodded, "According to our agreement, the Realm Calamity will belong to you, and the treasure indicated in the map will belong to me. Anything else will be up for debate with a priority for choosing laying within your hands."
"Correct." Davis chuckled, "Let's go."
As they alighted, he gave a command to the Eternal Eclipse Bird to protect itself until Rioxys Plume appeared. With her speed and ability, it shouldn't take long for her to come here if she wanted to.
He considered Rioxys Plume reacting worriedly and coming to look for them after she hears about the place they are visiting.
Davis didn't descend and went towards the Eternal Eclipse Bird's head. He arrived by its side and caressed its silky black feathers. As more time passed, its Ghost Will was becoming more and more intelligible. He could feel its emotions right now as it was reluctant to be separated.
Davis was highly curious as to what a Calamitous Lifeform was.
He had been thinking they were there to maintain balance in the universe by being innately aggressive enough to end realms. However, some ended up gaining sentience as though they could become a race themselves.
He remembered the Gargantuan Ice Fiend, which spawned Unfettered Behemoth Ice Fiends and Unfettered Ice Fiends back when he was an Immortal King. Even the spawns possessed an iota of intelligence behind their actions, other than acting aggressive.
However, these things were never really communicated, so it was a mystery that remained unsolved.
But after using his improved Grim Death Awakening and bestowing it with a new Will that brought it back from the dead into an undead, it now seemed to be emitting intelligent emotions. Did this change happen because he caused its Ghost Will to sprout?
Davis was curious, but regardless, having flown with the Eternal Eclipse Bird for some time now, he was slowly getting attached to it.
"Krra!~"
The Eternal Eclipse Bird cawed adorably to his caresses, causing Davis to be momentarily taken aback.
"Protect yourself." Davis patted it one last time before moving away.
He didn't intend to use the Voidplane Temporal Ring on it since he would be unable to take it out from inside because of the cultivation restriction.
Fairy Thunderblaze no longer felt incredulous about taming a Void Calamity, but it was new seeing him bond with one. She looked at him with an amused gaze before following him forward.
They seamlessly went above it and descended to look at a barren land. As they passed the mountain ridge and descended down the slope, they felt something. It was invisible, but they could tell that they had passed through some kind of barrier, although it was unknown if it was natural or artificial.
"This is the barrier that restricts only Empyreans and below to enter…"
"Strange…"
Fairy Thunderblaze and Davis commented, not understanding why there would be an artificial barrier if it was put up by someone. To seal the blood carnage Calamity here? Couldn't they just kill it with a single strike with the hundreds of Exalt Spirits here?
Each tribe had at least one. Some were even at the High Exalt Stage since they couldn't get inside the Myriad Coiling Spirit Peak after being exiled. They met a few on their way and somehow managed not to break it out into an all-out war since the tribes generally avoided a Calamity if it was just passing by.
They couldn't understand the purpose, so they felt it must be a natural barrier.
If it were a natural barrier, then what was generating this powerful barrier? If it could hamper Exalts, then it must not be simple.
Their steps landed on the barren land that was filled with yin energy. Signs of blood were everywhere, giving it a cadaveric aura. It was unknown how many corpses were buried here, but the two of them strode forward all the same.
They were already at a place where the blood carnage Calamity appeared a hundred and twenty years ago, since this was the place where it lured them in.
Davis spotted something in the distance and waved his hand at Fairy Thunderblaze to stop.
