Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4660: Dreamsilk Karmic Usurper Serpent

Chapter 4660: Dreamsilk Karmic Usurper Serpent

Ophirya Kaelis waited inside the same place.

Her long serpent tail shimmered with azure scales that caught the glow in strange patterns, her white hair cascading down her shoulders in soft, exquisite waves. Her vacant white eyes were a sight to see, as though they contained a bottomless abyss.

Even though she was facing the front, she couldn’t see what normal people could see. She was semi-blind.

She patiently waited for the Divine Emperor of Death to arrive. This time around, the establishment was empty of customers. It was silent and calm.

“Priestess, his unholiness has appeared.”

“That’s so rude…”

The door opened before Davis walked in, his tone full of complaint.

The blue-haired woman didn’t open her mouth again and closed the door behind him.

Ophirya Kaelis wryly smiled, “She’s just childish, still vengeful about the previous matter of her losing consciousness as soon as she entered.”

Davis nodded, not minding it, “Have you copied the poison-attributed manual?”

“Yes, please confirm the authenticity.”

Ophirya Kaelis brought out two scrolls and presented them to Davis. He rolled down the scroll and differentiated between, confirming the authenticity. It took a while, and the whole time, Ophirya Kaelis was silent.

“Very good.” He said, thinking it would be greatly useful for Evelynn to reference it.

This manual used nine hundred different types of Immortal Emperor Grade venom and a hundred different types of Empyrean Grade venom for research in order to be created. It was also a complete Exalt Grade Manual.

Davis absorbed the scroll into his spatial ring and gave the original one as he gazed at her vacant eyes, “I’m interested in knowing more about your Dreamsilk Karmic Usurper Serpent Clan. What kind of clan is it?”

Ophirya Kaelis nodded as she kept the original scroll inside. She thought for a moment before answering, her voice melodious like a singing mermaid.

“My Dreamsilk Karmic Usurper Serpent Clan has always been in a state of extinction from time immemorial. We are destined to be a race that would die early because our bloodline is karmically cursed. We survive by mixing our bloodline with other serpents. This doesn’t change our fate of dying early, but it’s still better than being a pure-blood. At times, we our called upon to use divination by the ruler of the galaxy, and at other times, we are abandoned. We have long escaped the confines of being used and thrown. Still, in this day and age, there are only a few survivors left, including me. I dare not betray the location of my race as it’s the utmost secret of our tribe.”

Davis nodded, but inwardly, he and Nadia were shocked.

He had thought Nadia’s racial karmic curse in her bloodline was something that solely targeted death-attributed wolfs, but it didn’t seem like it was the case. Nadia was also visibly shaken, and she almost wanted to jump out and ask for more information, but on second thought, she realized that the other party hadn’t managed to nullify the curse yet.

She suddenly couldn’t help but feel pity since she had Davis to circumvent the bloodline curse, but Ophirya Kaelis had no one.

Ophirya Kaelis thought the Divine Emperor of Death was unusually silent, but didn’t think too much of it as she continued.

“After long, long years of waiting, a Divine Oracle like me was born. I possess the blood of a variant Dreamsilk Karmic Usurper Serpent and the bloodline of the Midnight Dreadtide Naga Clan of the Sea Race. The variant bloodline, unfortunately, caused me to become a Divergent. Consequently, I could see much more than my ancestors, who were Divine Oracles. To preserve the clan, they had no choice but to exile me to the branch clan of the Nightshade Ocean Phantasm Clan.”

“I should thank my clan for not killing me in the crib. Regardless, I’m also suffering from Annihilative Heavenly Tribulations that I find increasingly worse. Perhaps, I will not be able to survive my Empyrean Beast Stage Tribulation.”

Ophirya Kaelis’s words were despondent, but her tone was one of acceptance and joy.

It was as though she had long accepted this outcome, but still wouldn’t just sit and wait.

Her words told Davis that she was really passive, and that’s why she didn’t even think of harming him. She just paralyzed Almer Spacewill and left.

“So you also have offensive abilities of the Sea Race?”

“Unfortunately, no. My sea race bloodline is thin.” Ophirya Kaelis shook her head, “However, I am confident in my karmic powers.”

“Your karmic powers might come in handy one day for me. What kind of species technique does your serpent race possess?” Davis looked intrigued.

“Everything we do is learned from a young age and not inherited. Of course, that isn’t to say that we didn’t inherit anything. If we use our inherited techniques, we will quickly die. Moreover, our blood itself is a great medium for divination, so with the help of diviner techniques from humans, we are capable of being the greatest Mystic Diviners the universe has ever seen. Even in this Shard World, I can protect myself better than most Mystic Diviners.”

“Impressive. So that’s why you want the spindle…”

“Yes…” Ophirya Kaelis nodded, “That’s why I’m also fluent in the Sky Word Language and have deeply researched its characters. It really is helpful in comprehending the efforts of humans. Some of the techniques fit my bloodline, such as Oceanic Karmic Curse, which makes one drown in their sleep, and the Oceanic Karmic Usurper, which steals their blood essence.”

“Whoa… you can steal blood essence without someone realizing it?”

Ophirya Kaelis nodded gently, “But I would have to be a major stage powerful than the target. Otherwise, the chances of being noticed are higher, but still, unless they’re like you, who can sense karmic connections to a deeper level, they would have no chance of noticing that it was I who stole it.”

“…” Davis’s gaze shimmered. He wanted to learn the Oceanic Karmic Usurper technique. He was sure that it could be used in more ways than one since it seemed like Ophirya Kaelis just used karmic techniques that accommodated her bloodlines.

Ophirya Kaelis quickly added, “As I did previously, I can also sever connection from one’s bloodline, but you were able to find out, which left me… trembling like a leaf. Is there any way you can teach me how to better hide my one’s blood connection? This technique is something my ancestors worked on for billions of years, but for it to be defeated by an Immortal Emperor… even if you are an Anarchic Divergent, it still hurts my pride…”

She giggled lightly as though joking.

Davis chuckled, “You are good at praising. Is this an occupational hazard?”

Ophirya Kaelis’s smile didn’t fade, “Indeed. But our services are much more faint and unreal than you think.”

“Illusion Laws…” Davis’s lips curled, “This establishment is such a scam.”

He could only wonder what those supreme geniuses would think about just lying down and twitching without anyone even having to touch them, while they drool like a fool.

At this moment, the blue-haired beauty entered, carrying refreshments in.

“The customers are still happier than the time they entered. Do you also want to experience it? Despite how I act, I’m way more skilled at allowing you to realize your wildest dreams.”

She bowed and placed the cups as she flashed a cold gaze at him.

“Tsaryn… be quiet.” Ophirya Kaelis chided.

Tsaryn raised her body up and looked at the two of them. She frowned behind her veil and said, “Don’t touch the Priestess. If you really want a serpent, this queen will entertain you. You can have my first time.”

“Tsaryn, leave…!” Ophirya Kaelis unusually yelled out.

“I won’t have that today, Priestess! My duty has always been to protect you!”

“…”

Davis had the urge to leave. Regardless, he waved his hand and made Tsaryn faint again.

“I’m not interested in you two. However, as Divergents who share a similar fate of being hunted down, will you not join me? I’m sure you’re hiding your most powerful techniques up your sleeves. Regardless, your powers are quite useful for them to be tucked away in some corner. What do you say?”
