Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4578: A Lucky Break?

Chapter 4578: A Lucky Break?

Davis figured out but didn’t leave.

The Eternal Eclipse Bird looked as though it was going to die any moment now. The resource it depended on didn’t seem like it was going to save it.

He looked at the bird intently, wanting its core and its body parts.

The resources obtained from Void Calamities and Realm Calamities were always extremely useful. It didn’t even have to be considered Void Calamities or Realm Calamities. For example, the first huge lifeform that was similar to calamities he had met, the Elemental Bloodsucking Vine Emperor, its nectar allowed magical beasts to enter King-Tier easily and even Emperor-Tier, but it could only grow up to the Immortal Emperor Stage.

For humans, it helped their bodies grow stronger.

It was extremely useful for beast up to the Immortal Emperor Beast Stage.

In the same way, the Void Dust Tree was another such lifeform, possessing the Void Dust Tree Fruit that bestows the consumer with deeper insights into Space Laws.

These strange lifeforms, whether they are dangerous or not, possess immense use for the human race.

Hence, Davis wanted to collect the Eternal Eclipse Bird’s carcass and the core.

However, he wasn’t foolish enough to wait here.

He went outside the valley, waited for a change to occur in the atmosphere. He waited six hours before eventually sensing the change in the atmosphere coming from the valleys. He instantly made his way and saw that the Eternal Eclipse Bird had turned into a roasted bird, at least on the surface.

Its eyes were probably a great resource since they were unique.

Darkness spirits gathered around. As expected, everything in this area was waiting for a feast. They were at the Immortal Emperor Stage and Empyrean Stage, but he released his death energy.

“…!”

The spirits were alarmed. They fled instantly.

Davis neared the Eternal Eclipse Bird and, with a wave of his hand, tried to store it, but it was extremely heavy. Even though it was just a carcass, its pressure was also great enough to cause ordinary Immortal Emperors to faint, but he could ignore it with his tremendous Will. He used his soul force to encompass the entire carcass. However, its remnant energy was bleeding into his soul, making him bite his lips.

He started feeling dizzy. But in the end, he managed to throw it into his spatial ring.

‘I might’ve contracted the Lunar Shadow Bleeding Sickness for real now…’ Davis inwardly smiled.

He didn’t sense any changes, but it could appear later.

Illnesses, curses, and afflictions were just like that. One day, a person would find them appear for no reason, and only later would they be able to explain how it appeared after spending considerable effort researching it. Moreover, this was not the First Haven World, where the World Master had perfected the human genome, causing nearly all innate sicknesses to be nearly extinguished.

But in the true immortal world, there were kinds of innate illnesses mixing with contracted illnesses, curses, and afflictions, making for a greater threat that only Saints could possibly deal with.

Davis had the confidence to cure any illnesses, so he wasn’t worried.

He then neared the darkness-yin attributed resources and with a precise pluck, the dark-purple bloom shuddered once before stilling, its form drawn into his life ring before being stored in a container. The yin haze around him began to dissipate ever so slightly, as though the valley itself sighed in relief.

However, Davis froze.

He looked underneath the thick leaves and found a Darkness Elemental Orb- that was at Primarch Grade.

It was thoroughly… concealed.

‘So the Eternal Eclipse Bird tried to absorb the energy from this orb and not the darkness-yin attribute resource in order to restore itself!?’

Davis was dumbfounded, but he felt lucky either way. The False Dawn Harbinger had no use for darkness resources, so it simply defeated the Eternal Eclipse Bird and left. It didn’t come here, allowing him to reap the benefits!

He instantly grabbed the elemental orb and looked at it as though he was looking at a priceless jewel.

The essence was so thick and dense that his soul force actually couldn’t enter it to tell whether it was Low-Level, Mid-Level, or High-Level Primarch Grade Resource.

If he remembered correctly, Elemental Orbs of Primarch Grade were called Quintessence Orbs. It wasn’t to say it contained five types of energy but to say that it was quintessential, the highest quality of essence orb one could obtain in the entire universe, at least according to the people of the Greater Realm.

He quickly threw it into his spatial ring after storing it in a container, appearing extremely satisfied. It was worth staying here even if it meant getting an illness.

But that didn’t mean he wanted to stay. He quickly left the area, heading north to see if there was a way past the dark hill on the side and cross the water-metal-attribute flowing river. He traversed hundreds and thousands of kilometers as he dashed.

However, he got tired after all the energy he spent, along with moving his muscles.

It was going to be night soon, so he clenched his teeth and moved forward.

Finally, he saw a lagoon-like landscape in the distance. It was in the river, its boulders causing the river waves to strike against it. Yet the atoll didn’t shake or tremble. They were like mountainous boulders creating a different river flow.

He appeared by the shore and saw that one way for him to teach the other side was to cross this atoll.

However, what were the chances that this atoll itself wasn’t some damned turtle-like lifeform sleeping below the river?

The shape of the boulders felt rather familiar to what he had seen in some records.

Davis narrowed his eyes, trying to see through it. He activated his Death God Eyes and deactivated almost instantly before he left the area in a hurry.

He saw a giant lifeform below.

He should’ve known it was a damned Realm Calamity called the Tidal Annihilation Ocean Behemoth, its giant coiling form enough to create tsunamis to cover entire realms and drown continents. Even cultivators would find their dense energy liquefied and diluted upon contact.

It was at least at the Mid-Level Primarch Stage if he wasn’t wrong, so it was a no-go. If he stepped on it, his entire body might be liquefied in an instant. It was the worst kind of calamity to face even for a cultivator of a higher level!
