Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4569: Into The Shard Continent

Chapter 4569: Into The Shard Continent

Months back, Davis finally left the Wrathful Aeons Shard Region with a few others.

Standing in front of a honeycomb-like structure that looked as though it was a gateway to multiple locations, Davis blinked. He couldn’t tell if it was one giant beehive or a mountain that took the shape of a honeycomb structure due to the ores that could be inside.

He brought out the map and surveyed it, recognizing that he had to enter the thirty-fourth hexagonal prism from the large tree that had been marked. He flew over to the side, searching for a mark before he finally found it.

Then, looking towards the right after thirty-three hexagonal prisms, he spotted the thirty-fourth one.

Walking towards it, he stepped into it boldly.

Isabella, Myria, Tia, and Fairy Thunderblaze followed him inside while Nadia was on him, keeping a vigilant gaze around him.

The moment they stepped in, a new world stretched before them, one that was as vast as the true immortal world’s skies, the altitude extremely high, and the expanse stretching beyond the horizons.

The Shard Regions felt as though they were stuck in elemental caves, but this was different. It encompassed a full word, filled with a sense of endless grandeur and boundless openness, as though the very core of this secret realm had been forged into a realm in this place.

Cloud oceans churned beneath them, their crests flashing with distant lightning.

Above, titanic celestial bodies- moons and suns both alien and familiar, different than the Solar Reverence and Lunar Reverence, hung in strange configurations, casting alternating bands of gold and silver light across the land.

Mountains pierced through the clouds like spears, their peaks wrapped in shimmering halos of energy. Rivers of starlight wound between them, flowing upwards instead of down, disappearing into the vault of the sky. Countless lifeforms traversed in the river, even what appeared to be a giant Space Swallowing Heavenly Whale- accurately, three of them.

Davis’s eyes narrowed slightly. This world was different than any other Shard Regions they had visited.

The air here was denser than expected, heavy with essence so pure it bordered on oppressive. His skin tingled- not from danger, but from the sheer concentration of energy pressing against his soul. This was a place where even Primarch-level existences could be born, easily so. At least, that was how he felt it could happen.

“This place…” Isabella murmured from his side, her gaze flickering across the horizon, “It’s beautiful~”

“I could spend some time atop this cliff, watching this grand utopia untouched by human hand for billions of years…”

Fairy Thunderblaze uttered with some sentiment.

Everyone was more or less enamored with this fantastical world. Here, Void Calamities and Realm Calamities seemed to be somewhat commonplace. They were not only predators but also prey for whatever bigger lifeform was out here.

While they were enjoying the scenery, a giant bone-masked bird with a large pelican-like beak spread its wings on the distant mountain peak. It took off, flying towards the stream before pecking a Space Swallowing Heavenly Whale just like that. It flicked it twice above with its long beak and swallowed the entire whale whole like it was nothing in a few seconds.

“…”

Davis and the others felt like returning at this point.

That bird- they had no idea what it was, but it wasn’t a magical beast. They guessed it was also a Realm Calamity of some kind. Even Myria shook her head, not knowing what it was.

However, what was clear was that it was a Primarch Stage lifeform.

They belatedly ducked, concealing themselves. It was mostly fine since an existence of that kind of level wouldn’t take notice of ants unless it found them tasty or annoying. Since they were a long distance away, they felt they were fine.

Indeed, nothing happened even after five whole minutes.

Davis turned to look and nodded at them before following a pathway.

They weren’t the first ones to come here. Many supreme geniuses attempted to pave a path to treasures and other regions, only to end up dying. However, it wasn’t those Empyreal Sovereigns who had a bright future who came here, but those who had a bleak future, those who wanted to rise above their peers and stand at the extreme top, or those who were chased to the ends of the realms.

The former was in the extreme minority. Hence, the latter were also easy to exploit.

The True Peak Emporium hired such people for a mindboggling amount that they wouldn’t be able to refuse, even giving insurance that they would take care of their family’s cultivation expenses for a thousand years.

Which poor genius could resist such an offer?

Hence, they essentially became disposable map charters for the True Peak Emporium and other powers. They were marked. Therefore, the True Peak Emporium would know which path they took, and once they found some kind of danger or gateway to other regions, they needed to break some talismans, which would let them know where it was.

It was a simple task, but the result was that the geniuses either made it or ended up dying.

Davis didn’t spread his soul sense, so he didn’t know where the True Peak Emporium and other powers were hiding here. He took out the new map he got from Ragoon Crystalveil when he went to meet him and deliver the goods. He saw that the paths were much more detailed than the last one, but still not enough, as the path traced went through quite a few danger zones.

If it were only him, he wouldn’t need to be so careful, but he turned to look back at his entourage.

No matter what he said, they were determined to step into this zone.

If he said otherwise and they foolishly followed after him after he left, then it would not be good, so he had no choice but to bring them with him.

“Isabella and Tia, climb on top of Nadia’s doppelgangers. Fairy Thunderblaze, you’re with Myria. Nadia and I will be the forerunners. Suppress your aura to the max. Be vigilant enough to activate your energy to defend yourself even on a moment’s notice, but don’t be spooked. Otherwise, you’ll give our positions away. Shall we go?”

Tia gulped.

Isabella and the others nodded.

Nadia split into three and concealed herself so much so that Davis felt like he wouldn’t be able to find her without the pact he shared with her. Her concealment ability was truly peerless at the moment, but he wasn’t far off.

No one would be able to find him either without using their brains to calculate his movements, but that was during a battle.

Regardless, they were now dealing with Primarch-level existences, so they couldn’t let their guard down for a single moment.

Davis, with a small but deadly Nadia on his shoulder, strode forward on foot, and the others followed suit.
