Chapter 2061: Demonic Rock Giant -Part 1

"Woo hoo! Last one!" The Rifle Mage exclaimed as the team simultaneously brought down the final demonic ogre that was within the second isolation barrier. This was already the expanded radius as Jin had confidently replaced the barrier four times, making it at least 25 kilometres in diameter.

At first, there was some surprise when the barrier disappeared but somehow they had been trained to have a challenge mindset so the Rifle Mages took whatever was thrown at their face to the best of their abilities.

Once the last Ogre was killed, most of the Rifle Mages were already exhausted as they had been fighting non stop for the past 8 hours. The only time they rest was to sit at the top of the Sherman Tanks to refill their magazine pouches.

It was only later when there was fewer Demons that an assortment of resupply trucks came out of Ress' Isolation barrier and into the second one with some escort. That was also the reason why the tanks were being deployed. It was used as some sort of guiding post as well as a protective barrier against the demons who were coming to upset the five supply trucks that were coming through.

The Tanks and a few teams of Rifle Mages made sure that the Supply Trucks were unharmed in their transportation of the resupplies which included a ration pack that enabled the Rifle Mages to munch and kill their enemies. Snack Bars and a drink that had been encased in a metal cylinder. All they had to do was to unplug the top and the sound of sizzling coolness eluded out of the can.

The sugar rush from the drink as well as the snack bar gave them the needed boost in calories as well as replenishment in their mana powers. It went on till the evening that they were afraid they were unable to meet the deadline that their King had set. Of course, a few grumbled in their minds that they had been tricked a few times in terms of the radius that the barrier was to be set with.

But at the same time, they were delighted that they were gaining back more ground than they had expected and more ground means more fertilised fields since every one knew that this was meant to for the up and coming agriculture to feed the people.

Thus, as they looked at the time, there was only half an hour left before the operation officially ends. So, they reloaded their rifles and prepared for the next round if any.

But after a minute of inactivity, there was no change in the isolation barriers and some were thinking that this might actually be the end of the operation…until they heard a loud bang at the northern side of the second isolation barrier.

This time, it was a huge bolt of lightning which struck the isolation barrier and it caught all of the Rifle Mages' attention. "Holy shit what is that…" One of the Rifle Mages asked as they saw that the lightning was crackled once more, revealing a colossus demonic rock giant placing his face near the isolation barrier and attempted to look through it.

The Rifle Mages had never seen such a monster and even the Commando Mages started to call out to the Rifle Mage Team Leaders to go into defensive formation.

"Bloody hell that is creepy." No 9 said as they could feel that this Demonic Rock Giant was not just any normal ranked giant. It was at least an EX Rank. Most Rifle Mages can work together to bring down an S Rank but to see an EX Rank right in front of them, some of them were shivering a little.

"CM3 to HQ. CM3 to HQ do you copy?" Number 3 face darkened as he attempted to reach the headquarters at the northern border of Ress' Isolation barrier.

"What is the matter CM3? We detected a huge surge of energy through the magic detectors."

"I predict that the barrier will break in 2 more hits and what we are facing is not just an EX Rank Demon. This might actually be an EX-F Rank Demon. It is as Lord Kraft had predicted." No. 3 replied which both the Royal Advisor of Ress and the King was listening in.

"Ex-F Rank?" Jin asked and Kraft gave a quick summary that he believed the EX Ranks might have their own set of rankings as well.

"Just like how your Grade 20 is merely the Level 0 of the next level. And you are right now Level 4 of the next Level. In my opinion, you should not be called Grade 4 and instead Grade 20-4." Kraft said and Jin was speechless not because he was speaking nonsense but speechless that this high ranked difficulty world was not holding back their punches.

"If that is the case, there is no use to let the barrier be destroyed. I am going to deactivate it and shift the coordinates of the isolation barrier a little. Overlord to All Teams. I repeat, Overlord to All Teams. New and final objective." King Jin snatched the channel and broadcast it wide to all Rifle Mages within the second isolation barrier.

"We might be encountering an EX-F Rank monster. To keep it short, Imagine EX Rank but even within themselves, there might be a separate ranking within them. Hence EX-F Rank. The Isolation barrier would disappear and appear once more to encompass the Demonic Rock Giant.

Rifle Mages provide support fire to the Commando Mages as well as clearing any monsters that are coming in." Jin ordered before switching to the personal comms of the Commando mages.

"All CMs. Defeat the Rock Giant at all cost. CM Lead and Vice Lead will return to the battlefield shortly. But CM 4 and 8 before you go in, come to the HQ and take some experimental weapons just in case." Jin told his group and every one knew what they needed to do.

Hence as planned, the isolation barrier blinked and adjusted its coordinates, encompassing the entirety of the Demonic Rock Giant as well as the lackeys that were within the adjusted area. Jin believed once this monster was killed, they could safely say that they have the cleared the place.
