Chapter 1196: Unusual
...
Several minutes later...
’As expected, a large crowd as gathered around the building. After the attack on the Noble District, everyone is still one edge.’
Not long ago, Izroth had taken a secret path out of the building that was known only to Verestiaa and a few select individuals.
At the moment, Izroth observed the front of the building where Nova was hidden away from a safe distance.
There were numerous people gathered around, most of which were nobles accompanied by their personal guards who could not keep their own curiosity at bay.
’Things will start to move fast behind the scenes even more so than now. I need to form my own reliable information network as soon as possible—no matter the cost.’
Izroth had Azalea working on finding useful individuals to be a part of the information network he wished to form. He also ran his plan by Aurora, the financial advisor of his Mythical Realm Palace, who agreed with him. Therefore, all he could do was pour more money into it to speed things along without sacrificing quality. After all, there was no point in an information network full of flaws.
As for Aurie and Kalmesia, the two decided to stay with Nova to discuss a few things. Among which was who could and could not be trusted with knowing that Nova had regained consciousness. Not only that, but they would also have to come up with a way to take full advantage of Nova’s newfound strength, as well as this window of opportunity for her to act secretly outside the public view.
In the end, Nova was one of the seven heroes; therefore, all her movements and actions were kept close track of by those with power and influence in the Mortal Realm. It was rare to have that sight temporarily disabled.
Before he left, Izroth offered some of his insight into how they should approach matters. However, he did not go into too many details since those involved caught on quick to what he had to say.
"It should be district located northwest from the Central Hub... Since I’m in the Noble District, I should be able to go straight there after I also pass through the Residential District." Izroth said to himself as he looked off toward that direction.
Now that he had finished curing Nova of the mark of corruption, Izroth had two different missions to complete since he was at Danaharpe.
’I’ve been a grade three Apothecary for a while. It’s about time I increase my rank at the Apothecary guild in Danaharpe.’
The Apothecary guild at the capital city of Amaharpe only allowed one to become a grade three Apothecary at most due to the limitations of those who oversaw it. However, Danaharpe was different. It was not called the city of crafting just for show.
In Danaharpe, players could reach higher and walk further on the path of their profession.
For someone in Izroth’s position, it was at the Apothecary building in Danaharpe that he would be able to take the test to become a grade four Apothecary!
As for the second task he had to complete in Danaharpe, it was to visit a certain someone who had been in Danaharpe since the event first started and entrust them with Franz Winsor’s inheritance. After all, the faster he found someone suitable to take on the inheritance, the sooner he could complete the S-ranked quest Successor of the Legendary Apothecary and obtain the 12 True Seals of Creation.
Not to mention, Izroth understood that even though the inheritance was not going to him directly, it was not as though it would remain completely disconnected from him.
Suddenly, Izroth heard the sound of a system alert ring in his head.
Izroth opened his system alerts and saw that someone had sent him a message.
’She finally responded. These coordinates are... I see. Then, I won’t waste any more time.’
The coordinates Izroth received was located at a specific building within the Apothecary district of Danaharpe.
’Since I’m already headed that way, it saves me some time.’
...
Several minutes later...
After leaving the Noble District and making his way through the Residential District, Izroth finally arrived at the entrance of the Apothecary District.
’Even from out here, I can smell the strong medicinal scents that linger in the air.’
Danaharpe truly lived up to its reputation as the city of crafting. The Apothecary District was grand to the point that it seemed like its own town. There were several buildings made of sturdy and luxurious materials lined up on all sides of the neatly kept paved roads. There were stalls selling all sorts of herbs, pills and even some that just offered advice for a certain price.
It was not as bustling as the Central Hub that acted as a way to connect all the districts in Danaharpe; however, it was still incredibly lively and active. Not to mention, the Central Hub was more akin to a general merchandise store. It offered a wide variety of low, mid and some high quality items and services.
However, if one had a more specialized request or wanted something that perfectly suited their needs, they would have to venture to a place like the Apothecary District.
’It’s quite busy. Though it’s not surprising with everything that’s happening in the Mortal Realm lately. Still, is it always this crowded around this time of day?’
For security reasons, excluding the Residential District and Central Hub, there was only a single entry point for the other districts. Naturally, this also included the Apothecary District. And, at the moment, there were two long lines that led up to the entry point where some armored individuals stood guard.
"If you have come to place a pill request on the Wall of Pills, line up on the right side and wait your turn to fill out the proper paperwork! If you have come to pick up a previously placed order or simply for a visit, line up on the left side! If anyone is caught causing trouble, they will be tossed out immediately!" One of the guards shouted.
’At this rate, it will be a while before I’m able to enter. Although it can’t be considered high rank in a place like Danaharpe, I’m still a grade three Apothecary. At the very least, it’s enough not to be looked down on. Surely, a place like this dedicated to Apothecaries won’t those of their own profession wait in line.’
Crafting pills took a lot of time and effort. Not to mention, Apothecaries had to research and study constantly to increase their knowledge and make advances on their path. Making their fellow Apothecaries stand in line just to get into a district made specifically for them—there was no way those stubborn people would agreed to it.
"Out of the way! Do not block the young master’s path!" A voice suddenly echoed as a lavish and exquisite carriage arrived near the front of the entrance into the Apothecary District.
"Ah! You almost hit me, watch where you-!" One of the men who quickly jumped out of the carriage’s way complained; however, when he saw the symbol on the carriage, his face turned pale as he wasted no time swallowing the rest of his words.
He then quickly bowed and said, "M-My apologies! I didn’t realize it was the young master’s carriage!"
"Hmph! Get lost!" The carriage driver scowled as he looked down at the man.
Without hesitation, the man profusely gave his thanks as he swiftly got to his feet and ran away hurriedly.
The following moment, the carriage driver got down and opened the carriage door.
"Young master Pierce, we have arrived." The carriage driver as he respectfully bowed and held the door open.
"How absurd that personal carriages are not allowed on the roads of the Apothecary District. I will have to talk to my father and teacher about changing such an out dated rule." A voice sounded from within the carriage as a young man stepped out.
The young man appeared to be in his early twenties. He had a handsome face with an air as arrogance about it—as if all those around him were not worthy of entering his sights. He possessed a pair of sharp purple eyes, short silver hair and wore an extravagant set of clothes.
More surprising was the badge attached to the young man’s shoulder, which revealed his identity as a grade four Apothecary!
’Oh? Becoming a grade four Apothecary at his young is an impressive feat.’
While Pierce did not come close to a true genius like Franz Winsor who become a grade five Apothecary at the mere age of ten, Izroth knew that Franz Winsor was a rare generational prodigy that may not appear again for hundreds of years. Nevertheless, it was not easy becoming a grade four Apothecary since one required a certain level of knowledge and experience.
’Still, the air about him... Something feels a bit off.’
Izroth observed Pierce with his Energy Vision Sense; however, nothing unusual showed up. Nevertheless, Izroth had a strange feeling that he could not quite put his finger on whenever he looked at Pierce.
’This aura... Why does it seem so familiar...? Where have I sensed it before?’
Izroth possessed a perfect memory; therefore, it should have been something he remembered immediately. But, whenever he tried to think about it, nothing came to mind.
’How strange. Should I look into it a bit when I finish what I have to do here?’
