Chapter 1188: A Room of Treasures, Upon The Leaf

...

Inside the building that Izroth, Aurie and Kalmestia walked into was well lit. Unlike the lavish building exterior, the interior was rather lacking and there was not much to see. It was almost as if the place had been cleared out beforehand.

’The energy in this place is unusual. It is as if everything is scattered but yet somehow still connected. Is it due to the influence of the Domain that’s encompassing this area?’

Before he even set foot into the building, Izroth noticed the presence of a Domain. Although he had no idea what kind of effects the Domain possessed, he speculated that it had something to do with one of the Pinnacle Four Origin Domains, Space.

’If someone with the power of one of the Pinnacle Four Origin Domains is protecting this place, it won’t be easy for anyone to enter undetected. Well, if they are anything like that man I met at the Sky Palace, rather than not being easy, it’ll be virtually impossible for anyone to set foot in this place unless the owner wills it.’

During the second team’s selection at the Sky Palace, Izroth came across a mysterious man in white clothes. That person was someone who commanded one of the Pinnacle Four Origin Domains, Time. It was to the point that even a legendary realm powerhouse could not escape its influence. Therefore, Izroth knew that those with a Pinnacle Four Origin Domain could not be underestimated.

’That aside, the fact that it can contain such a sinister and foul energy—the effects of this Domain are not simple.’

From the moment Izroth set foot into the building and came under the influence of the Domain, a dark, ominous and oppressive energy crashed into him. It made the air inside feel thick, making it difficult to even breath properly.

"My mother’s room is on the first floor. Commander Izroth, you will have less than one hour to act. After that, we will be forcibly ejected from this Domain for our own safety, whether we like it or not." Aurie stated.

"I understand, Commander. Rest assured, I will do what needs to be done." Izroth replied.

’Though there is something I am curious about. Nova is one of the seven heroes of the Mortal Realm. Undoubtedly, Amaharpe and its allies would do everything in their power to save her. That being said, I scouted the area earlier and noticed that only those of the trephasia race have been assigned to this location. It could be a mere coincidence, but something tells me there is more to it than that. Well, either way, that doesn’t change what I have to do.’

...

After walking for less an a couple of minutes, Izroth, Aurie and Kalemsia arrived before a bundle of wood and vines entangled with one another.

The moment the group stopped in front of the wood and vines, a troubled look found its way onto Aurie’s face as she could not conceal her nerves.

"Commander Izroth has shown me many miracles, so I have decided to put my trust in him, but... Is it really alright to place such a heavy burden on his shoulders? If he fails, then I..." Aurie quietly thought to herself.

A few seconds later, Aurie let out a deep sigh as she rested the palm of her hand against the bundle of entangled wood and vines.

"Brace yourself, Commander Izroth. Beyond this door the mark of corruption is at its strongest. Even though it is currently being suppressed, it can still influence one’s mind if they let their guard down for a moment." Aurie warned.

Izroth gave a small nod and replied, "I will be sure to keep my guard up."

Something capable of incapacitating a legendary powerhouse like Nova, naturally, Izroth did not plan on letting his guard down.

Not long after Izroth responded, Aurie channeled some of her mana into the entangled of wood and vines.

The following moment, the wood and vines spread apart, opening up a path with a thin barrier ahead.

Aurie took a few steps and walked through the barrier without issue as Izroth and Kalmesia followed behind her. And, once all three passed through the barrier, the wood and vines entangled once more, closing off the way out.

’I expected the energy in this place to be chaotic, but it is being suppressed well. Though I can see why that’s the case. They truly went all out in setting up this location.’

The first thing Izroth noticed when he stepped through the barrier was a strong life energy clashing with what could only be described as a terrifying presence. The clash of energies was maintained in such a perfect and delicate way that made it feel as though one was in two different places simultaneously.

The room itself was rather spacious. However, instead of some luxurious recovery room like those that would be typical in the Amaharpe Noble District, it was as if Izroth had walked into a small forest. It was filled with an abundance of plant life, some of which Izroth had never seen before.

At the room’s center was a shallow pool of liquid five meters long and wide.

’Oh? The water here reminds me of the Liquid of Renewal. No, rather, it’s a step above it.’

As impressive as the Liquid of Renewal was, in the end, it was only a byproduct of the Half-Bloomed Divine Flower of Renewal. But, Izroth could tell that the liquid in the pool was a true treasure that stood on its own.

Even the plant life spread through the room were all treasures that were no less than mythical-rank.

However, what caught Izroth’s eye was the giant leaf floating atop the pool of liquid.

’That leaf—such a powerful gathering of life energy. To think I would see an artifact-ranked magic item in this place. As expected, Nova’s identity is not simple.’

To most players, SSS-ranked magic items were the highest grade that existed. However, Izroth knew firsthand that there was something above that in the Mortal Realm. That being said, artifact-ranked magic items were likely the hidden trump card of kingdoms like Amaharpe or those powerful clans that have been around for longer than anyone could remember.

Of course, Izroth was also the owner of an artifact-ranked magic item after coming across the Unburdened Null Beast Statue in The Void.

Unfortunately, since the item was damaged, Izroth felt that he was unable to tap into its true potential. Still, it was effective in containing the Law of Void, which allowed Izroth to make progress with his Boundless Emperor Void Perfection.

Though the artifact-ranked magic item before Izroth now was clearly one in a complete state. Compared to the damaged Unburdened Null Beast Statue, the energy Izroth detected coming from the giant leaf was a few steps above.

Besides the artifact-ranked magic item, there was something else that grabbed Izroth’s focus.

Izroth’s gaze focused on the person lying motionless on the leaf with her eyes closed. She wore a breathable set of fine light green robes. Her long hair was sprawled out as most of it was floating in the pool of liquid. This person was, of course, none other than Nova.
