Chapter 97: What Matters Is That I Know Her, So All Of You Should Stay Out Of It

Shi Beiyu walked to a place out of Mu Siyin’s view and answered the call.

“Mom.”

“What’s going on with you, Ah Yu? Quite a few shareholders have called me up tonight to say that you’ve been delaying the shareholders meeting for three days. Did something happen with the company?” A woman’s clear and elegant voice rose curiously from the other end of the phone.

Shi Beiyu let out a long breath. “No. Something urgent came up, and I had to delay the meeting. I’ve already informed Yan Ze to arrange for it at 9 a.m. tomorrow.”

“What’s so urgent?”

Shi Beiyu became annoyed. “I have my right to privacy, Mom.”

Mother Shi was shocked to hear what her son had said.

“Privacy? Listen to me, Ah Yu… I heard you’ve been getting friendly with a girl. Is this true?”

Shi Beiyu’s gaze darkened as he lowered his voice. “Who told you that?”

Mother Shi laughed. “Look at you. All I’ve done was ask a question, and I’ve already gotten on your nerves.”

Mother Shi only found out about this from the conversation she had with the shareholders that night. Otherwise, she would never have found out that Shi Beiyu had delayed the monthly shareholders meeting for three days all because of a girl.

If he really had a girlfriend, she would be over the moon.

He has finally started dating after all these years.

However, she must do a background check on who that girl was. After all, a girl who could persuade her son to ditch his work so many times must not be an ordinary girl.

Shi Beiyu did not want to talk to his mother about this anymore. “That’s not it. You don’t have to worry about the company. Those old shareholders are just whistleblowers.”

Mother Shi could not do anything about it, so she said, “Okay. I’ll look past the company affairs, but you must tell me if you have a girlfriend.”

However, Shi Beiyu replied, “I’ll tell you about it after things are official.”

Mother Shi immediately laughed when she heard this. “Are you for real this time?”

Shi Beiyu frowned in silence.

Mother Shi could not hide her excitement from her voice. “Tell me, which family is that Young Lady from, Ah Yu? Don’t keep me at bay.”

Shi Beiyu replied indifferently, “What matters is that I know her, so all of you should stay out of it.”

Mother Shi was completely speechless and could only reply, “Okay, okay. We’ll stay out of it. But you must bring her back and introduce her to your Grandpa and me when things are official.”

“Okay.”

After ending the call, Shi Beiyu could not help but let out a long sigh. The frown on the tip of his eyebrows and his complicated gaze were impossible to read.

He stood rooted to the ground for a while to calm his emotions. Only after that did he shuffle his feet and walk out.

On the other hand, Mu Siyin was getting bored from waiting in the living room. When Shi Beiyu did not return after a while, she decided to turn on the television.

By the time Shi Beiyu came back, he instantly saw Mu Siyin sitting alone on the sofa. She looked rather pitiful with her eyes glued on the television and a pillow tightly pressed against her chest.

She looked exactly like an abandoned child.

“Have you taken your medicine?”

Shi Beiyu strode over and sat next to her with a smile. He did not bother to see if anyone was around before pulling her into his lap.

Mu Siyin’s figure was so petite that hugging her was like hugging a child.

“Not yet. We just had dinner, so I’ll take them later.”

Shi Beiyu nodded his head and raised his eyebrows inquisitively. “Do you want anything to drink?”

Mu Siyin blinked. After pondering for a while, her eyes lit up. “Do you have snow pear and rock sugar dessert?”

Shi Beiyu instantly burst into laughter. “I guess you’re still a child at heart.”
