Chapter 206: I’ll Fulfill My Promise After I Get Better
Shi Beiyu instantly turned speechless. As he looked at Mu Siyin’s googly eyes staring at him, his heart softened like water.
He smiled as he lifted a hand to caress her waterfall-like black hair. He said adoringly, “Be good. I’ll go and see if there’s anything to eat.”
Mu Siyin immediately grinned. “Okay!”
Uncle Zhong had just gotten the servants to clear the table when he saw Shi Beiyu walking down the stairs.
“Eh? What are you doing downstairs again, Little Beibei?”
“I think it’s better to let Yinyin eat some stuff.”
Upon hearing this, Uncle Zhong rolled his eyes. “Look at you! I’ve already told you to let little Siyin eat something, but you won’t listen to me!”
Shi Beiyu laughed helplessly. “You’re right, Uncle Zhong. Can you get the kitchen to heat up the dishes?”
“Sure, sure. Wait for a while.”
“Okay.”
Uncle Zhong headed towards the kitchen with a smile on his face. Meanwhile, Shi Beiyu stood idly on the ground for a while and then headed back to the study, where he took out his phone. With a frown, he dialed Shi Ran’s number.
Shi Ran answered the call as soon as it rang. He did not wait for Shi Beiyu to speak before saying, “Don’t worry, Brother. I’m still looking.”
“How long do you need?”
“I’ve just found a guy, but I haven’t located him yet.”
“Is he reliable?”
“He’s quite popular in the capital. Rumors have it that he has the powers to… you know, life and death…”
“I don’t want someone popular. I also don’t want anyone that knows how to predict death or wealth. I want a real medium.”
Shi Ran paused abruptly.
Shi Beiyu said again, “Tomorrow. Find me someone latest by tomorrow afternoon.”
Shi Ran was taken aback but nodded his head. “Okay. I’ve got it.”
After hanging up the call, Shi Beiyu took a few deep breaths. Although he did not understand the supernatural, he had heard of some folktales before.
He used to despise this nonsense in the past. However, he had no choice but to get to the root of the matter about Mu Siyun.
Shi Beiyu personally brought up a few of Mu Siyin’s favorite dishes upstairs. Having waited for a long time, Mu Siyin’s eyes lit up happily the moment she saw Shi Beiyu walk in.
“Let me see if there’s anything I like.” Mu Siyin smiled as she got off the bed and ran towards Shi Beiyu.
Shi Beiyu lifted an eyebrow. “They are all your favorites. Eat up.”
Mu Siyin followed behind Shi Beiyu and took a seat at the coffee table. Then, she lifted her gaze to look at him. “Have you eaten?”
Shi Beiyu nodded his head. “I’ve eaten a long time ago.”
Mu Siyin lifted an eyebrow. “Eat more, then.”
Shi Beiyu shook his head. “It’s fine. You should eat while it’s hot.”
“Okay.”
Only after her belly was filled did she feel a little more energized.
“Are you full?” Shi Beiyu was sitting across from her when he asked.
Mu Siyin smiled as she nodded her head. “Yep! I overate.”
Shi Beiyu burst out laughing. “You have to take your medicine in a while.”
Upon hearing this, Mu Siyin asked curiously, “I don’t even know when I started burning up this afternoon.”
“At the balcony. You started having a fever while you were sleeping.”
Mu Siyin frowned. “I used to be fine with standing in the rain. I don’t know why my body is so weak today.”
“That was in the past. You have to pay more attention to your body from now on.”
“Yeah, I understand.”
Mu Siyin began to feel drowsy after taking the medicine. As she thought about what she had promised Shi Beiyu that day, she started to feel bad.
She paused for a while before she let out a soft cough. Then, she looked at Shi Beiyu and said, “Um… I’m sorry.”
Shi Beiyu seemed to have understood where the apology came from. However, he lifted his eyebrows slightly and pretended not to know why. “Sorry for what?”
Mu Siyin became more embarrassed as she lowered her voice and whispered, “For being sick. I’ll fulfill my promise once I get better!”
