Chapter 200: A Hint From The Inspector
Su Yang held his rage down and bellowed, “Why would the SAMR contact you first and not me? And why are you telling me this now?!”
The agent answered in a lazy tone, “Mr. Su, we don’t work on the weekends, so missing out on the notice is normal. And as for why the SAMR contacted us, maybe because I wrote my information on the form instead of yours. Anyway, now that I’ve delivered the message, remember to attend the inspection tomorrow.”
The agent then hung up the phone.
Su Yang’s face was as gloomy as the dark clouds in the sky. He looked at the panel in front of him and heaved strongly.
‘Calm down. Calm down. I’ll do this step by step.’
Su Yang called Deeny over and started an emergency meeting with Pool and Sanque.
These three little monsters had Intermediate Intellect and could work like young adults. Now that problems had arrived at their doorstep, it was time for them to figure out something to help solve the problems.
Su Yang briefed them about the situation before he leaned back on the couch and said, “What do you guys think?”
Pool glanced and Sanque before responding, “Sanque and I are inexperienced in handling situations like this. The inspection is important to the shop, so if we cannot pass the inspection, the milk tea shop might have to close down, so…”
He looked at Su Yang. “Lord Su Yang, you might have to take my place tomorrow.”
Su Yang nodded stiffly with his morose look. He hated this kind of bland and trivial jobs, but for the sake of Pool and Sanque, for the milk tea shop, and for the Silver Mission, he had to take up the responsibility that he hated. He was the only one with the health certificate after all.
“I’ll take your place for the day, but what about the milk tea? The inspector will surely check on the process of making it,” he said.
Pool and Sanque exchanged gazes as they could not come up with a solution alone.
After a while, Deeny said, “Master, I have knowledge in mechanical engineering as well. Why don’t I design and draft an automated filling system, and we can build it using the sticky note?”
Su Yang thought for a while and said, “Workable but it won’t be enough. Even if you have a fully automated filling system, the milk tea cannot come from the faucet alone. We must have storage for the milk tea.”
He looked at Pool and said, “Let’s work together. Deeny will design the filling system and we will go to a nearby beer factory or bar to see whether we can get our hands on some clean barrels. We will have to move the barrels to the shop tonight and fill them up with milk tea.”
Pool nodded and added, “We are providing three flavors of milk tea and can sell around 400 to 700 cups a day. One cup of milk tea is 500 ml, which means we will need at least three 100 liter barrels.”
Su Yang shook his head. “We don’t need that many in that size. The inspection will certainly affect our business, so all we need to do is fool the inspector until the end of the inspection. If we can get a bigger barrel, we will go for the bigger barrel, probably more than 100 liters. If we can’t get that, just buy the smaller ones for now.”
“I understand, Lord Su Yang,” said Pool.
The three of them split up and tried their best to do whatever they could to prepare for the inspection.
Su Yang and Pool almost covered the entire Baoshan District to get three clean wine barrels. The two of them moved the barrels to the shop and filled them up with the different flavors of milk tea using the faucet.
At the same time, Deeny came up with the draft for the automated filling system. Su Yang memorized the draft and brought it to life using the sticky note.
However, since it was just an initial draft, the size was smaller than expected, thus Su Yang told Deeny to readjust the measurements.
The few of them had to work until midnight to get all the preparations done.
Su Yang then went to bed with a heavy heart after everything was done.
The next morning, Su Yang woke up early, washed up, and prepared to go to work at the milk tea shop. Although he was tired, the milk tea shop usually opened early, so as the one in charge of the day, he had to wake up early to prepare.
After he arrived at the shop, Su Yang put Deeny inside the kitchen and let her take charge of everything while he stood outside to deal with the customers.
It was Su Yang’s first time working as a waiter cum cashier. He finally knew how tiring it was because he had to take orders, accept payment, serve milk tea, and prepare the milk tea for takeaway. The work was tiring and repetitive, so he worked like a mindless robot.
Su Yang was impressed by how Pool had gotten by in the past few days.
‘Is it because of his love for the milk tea shop?’
After working for the whole morning, the inspector from the State Administration for Market Regulation finally arrived. The inspector was a middle-aged woman with freckles on her face and she did not look friendly.
When she arrived at the entrance, she knocked on the glass window and said, “Inspector from SAMR. I’m here to inspect your shop.”
Su Yang apologized to the customers and told them to come back later.
The customers sighed in disappointment because they had been waiting in line. Su Yang had to bring out some discount cards for the customers to calm them down. Each customer with the card could get a 20% off on their next purchase.
However, Su Yang giving away the discount cards to the customers slightly crossed the middle-aged woman.
After he dealt with the customers, he walked up to her. The grumpy woman complained, “I’m here for the inspection and you served your customers instead of talking to me?”
Su Yang smiled. “Business is hard nowadays.”
The woman grunted coldly, “You are the person-in-charge, aren’t you? I want to have a look inside the shop.”
“Right this way.” He opened the door and led her into the shop.
She checked the surroundings carefully and even put her hands on the counter before asking, “Where’s your health certificate?”
“It’s on display at the window,” Su Yang said.
The woman walked over to the window and checked the health certificate. She then looked at Su Yang and nodded. She sized up the walls and the decorations before she asked, “Is there only one health certificate? What about the other employees?”
“I’m the only one working here.”
She frowned. “I want to have a look inside.”
Deeny had been monitoring the situation from inside the kitchen, so she already knew about the inspector’s arrival through the bone conduction earphone. She already had everything prepared.
Su Yang opened the door and showed the woman how the milk teas were made.
The first thing she saw was a silver machine that was separated into three parts.
The first part had three different pipes connected to three different barrels. The second part was where the cups were loaded and sealed. The third part was a belt that delivered the sealed milk tea to the front counter.
Surprised, she asked, “What’s this?”
Su Yang said with a smile, “This is our fully automated filling machine. We only sell three flavors here. When I key in the orders at the front, the pipe connected to that particular flavor will open and the cup will be filled. When the cup is full, the machine will automatically stop.
“It will then seal the cup and be delivered to the front via the belt, and a freshly sealed milk tea is ready to be served.”
He even pressed a button in front and demonstrated the process to the woman. The second pipe opened and filled the cup. After the cup was filled, it was sealed with a layer of plastic before being delivered to the front.
The whole process only took less than 10 seconds, which stunned the woman.
After that awe-inspiring scene, she regained her senses and sized Su Yang up with an astonished gaze. “Not bad. It’s smart.”
When she walked back out to the front, Su Yang quickly closed the door to the kitchen and sent her out of the shop.
Right after the woman stepped out of the shop, she paused for a moment and said without turning around, “The safety of food and beverage is something we at the SAMR take very seriously. I think we will pay frequent visits to your shop in the future, so you’d better be prepared.”
She then walked away without even looking at him.
‘Frequent visits? What is she trying to say? Why would the SAMR pay frequent visits to a shop? What about my business? Is this the handiwork of that damned landlord?’ Su Yang’s eyes were burning with rage. ‘Do you really think I will just sit back and do nothing?’
