Chapter 400: Sunset Swamp

“Boss Li, I don’t think we have enough gold to do that.” Financial Manager Xiao Chen reminded.
Li Xiao Bing’s meaning of “You die or I live!” would definitely mean that he intended to fight to his death with the Quan Zhen Sect. However, their entire fluid funds for this month was all invested in the ingredients market. If they chose to continue investing more money, their other business would be affected.
A studio, even one which monopolised the industry, would have a limit to the amount of wealth. Tens of millions of fluid funds were almost if not all of Li Xiao Bing’s years of hard work.
“You don’t have to worry about the gold. I’m sure there are other studios interested in this medicinal industry. We can just share some with them.”
“But our opponent knows how to concoct high grade medicine ah.” Old Five replied.
Li Xiao Bing responded, “It’s okay! We can just destroy anything that we are unable to obtain.”
Old Five’s eyes lit up as he asked again, “Are you saying that we kill their Pharmacist until her level drops below 10?”
“Indeed!” Li Xiao Bing smiled as he nodded his head.
Old Five suddenly felt extremely relieved and pleased, “Boss is definitely the smartest one here!”
Secondary jobs could only be learnt after level 10. When gamers die, they will not only lose experience points. If their level dropped, the experience points for their secondary job will drop too.
If she was killed to below level 10, she could forget about her secondary job as an Alchemist and the need to give up on her skill to concoct high grade medicine.
Li Xiao Bing was indeed ruthless to think that he would come up with such an extreme and drastic measure. Of course, if he dared to do something like that, he must be confident that he had the means to do so.
While the number of men at the Daybreak Studio couldn’t be compared to large guilds, they still had at least four to five hundred people. Other than the few who helped to operate the business, the rest of them were making a living by searching and fighting for treasures. They were all of decent strength and well equipped by the Daybreak Studio. Even a fully dressed newbie could go up against an ordinary expert with the equipment provided by the Daybreak Studio.
As for the Quan Zhen Sect, Li Xiao Bing had his fair share of data on them. A full squad of 15 people still dared to fight against a larger guild like his. If playing dirty didn’t work, he planned on fighting them with force directly. If the Quan Zhen Sect still dared to fight back, Li Xiao Bing really didn’t mind wiping their existence of this game.
With the high grade medicine as their trump card and a large amount of gold as their backing, the Quan Zhen Sect was indeed fighting back well. At the fastest possible speed, Frost Blade was able to help Mu Zi Xian regain control of the market for ingredients. He was able to ensure the constant and stable supply of ingredients for Li Xue.
Wang Yu and the rest had no clue regarding these business tactics and had no intention to intervene. Regardless, they would have a share of the profits at the end of the day.
Two or three days earlier, Wang Yu and the rest of the Quan Zhen Sect members entered level 30.
After stepping into level 30, they would be entering the Risk Taker Phase. There would no longer be clues from the advisor and gamers had to depend on themselves for everything. They had to search for clues and dungeon quests by themselves.
The system shirked responsibility and even gave it a glorified name: “High Degree of Freedom”.
Gamers could only display their helplessness when facing the system’s despicable behaviour.
After level 30, the guild headquarters started a compulsory guild mission system. As long as you’re a level 30 gamer, you have to complete at least one guild mission every day. Otherwise, the system would deduct the guild’s main city contribution points. Once the main city’s contribution points decreased to a certain level, the guild will decrease in level.
The Quan Zhen Sect was never concerned about the decrease in guild level. However, they were just worried that once their level couldn’t be decreased any further, the guild might be forcefully disbanded so they had no choice.
Wang Yu’s today mission was to wipe out the Sunset Swamp’s Poison Arrow Frogs.
Sunset Swamp was located at the common boundary between Twilight City and Thorn City. The terrain of the swamp was one of the most hated terrains of many gamers. This was because there were swamp pits everywhere throughout the swamp. Once gamers fell into the pit, their speed will decrease by 60%.
Poison Arrow Frog was a level 30 monster at the periphery of the Sunset Swamp. Even though they only have 2000 HP, they specialised in long-range attacks. They could even stealth within swamps to hide from attacks. As for close combat, they were a nightmare existence.
Those who specialised in close combat usually have short reach. Therefore, they had to go near to fight the Poison Arrow Frog. However, going near would increase their odds of falling into the pits. After falling into the pits and had their speed reduced, it would be devastating once the Poison Arrow Frogs attacked.
However, it would make it easier if there were ice wizards in the team.
Ice wizards’ ice effect would be even more effective in terrains with water. Against land creatures, the effect of ice could reduce the speed of the monsters. In swamp areas or places with water, the ice effect could enforce the freezing effect.
Therefore, the periphery of the Sunset Swamp would be an ice wizard’s paradise to train. This was also one of the only few places where they could kill high level monsters easily. This was even true for ice wizards who were merely in level 20 or more. With the use of skills such as Icicles, Ice Thorns, Ice Pistols and etc, this set of skills could easily kill a group of monsters within seconds.
When Wang Yu arrived at the Sunset Swamp, the place was already filled with ice wizards.
When the wizards saw that a Pugilist was here to grind monsters, disbelief was written all over their faces.
“F*ck, that fella is a Pugilist right?”
“He seems like one…”
“Even a Chastener wouldn’t dare to come to a place like this, is this Pugilist here to send himself to death?”
Chasterner was the advanced version of a Crusader. The pike in the hands of a Chastener had the greatest range of attack among all the other close combat jobs. The short hands of a Pugilist were simply too pitiful.
Under the observation of the wizards, Wang Yu picked an emptier corner as he stared quietly at the Poison Fog Frogs that were respawning.
Beside Wang Yu was a lady who knew how to use a level 25 Ice Mirror skill. One swing of the hand and a layer of ice formed on the surface of the swamp. Following which, she used Icicles and Ice Thorns to kill three monsters in one go. As compared to the other gamers, it was considered impressive.
This lady was evidently very interested to know why Wang Yu was here too. She was equally as interested to find out how Wang Yu was going to deal with these monsters. Ever since Wang Yu arrived, she had been staring intensely at Wang Yu.
As a martial artist, Wang Yu was very good with his senses. This was especially so when he was being watched intensely by someone. Wang Yu’s whole body would feel uncomfortable because of this.
Very quickly, Wang Yu was getting goosebumps from the intense glares from this lady.
“Lady, may I ask why you’re staring at me like that?” Wang Yu couldn’t help but ask.
The lady was also very honest in her answer, “I want to see how you’re going to kill these monsters.”
“Simple!”
Wang Yu spotted a Poison Fog Frog which just spawned not too far away. With a wave of his left hand, a white light was seen and the Poison Fog Frog was pulled to the shore. Following which, the right fist followed suit and one punch was all it needed to kill it. The entire process took less than two seconds and every move was clean and sleek.
The lady was dazed at what she witnessed, “What skill is that?”
“Void Seizing Palm but I am only able to use it here. It wouldn’t have been possible if it were any further away from me…” Wang Yu replied.
“Oh!” The lady nodded her head before saying, “Alright, you can have this place then. I shall go somewhere else.”
“Thank you!” Wang Yu didn’t stand on ceremony because he needed to kill over hundreds and to kill them one by one was evidently a huge waste of time.
“My name is Red Spiderlily, you?” The lady smiled.
“Iron Bull!” Wang Yu casually clicked on the friend’s list.
“Iron Bull? Why have I heard this name from somewhere before? I’ll make my way to that area to practice so do take care of yourself.” As she spoke, she ran off in another direction.
“Take care?” Wang Yu was muttering to himself, “What can these small monsters do to me? You’re simply underestimating me.”
