Provocative Fiery Wife: My Superior is a Affectionate Spitfire

Chapter 1622 - : I said before that we are family.

Chapter 1622: I said before that we are family.

Ji Ziming received his assistant’s message in the morning, saying that there was an important document for him to look at personally, such that even the secretary had no right to read it.

This incident happened probably because there was a spy in Pei Ge’s company and that person was someone she trusted.

“Ge Ge, I settled your company’s matter last night. Those people who left had no right to come back, and I also fired those who tried to return. I hired a new batch of trustworthy elites for you.”

He spoke tirelessly. The woman had no inkling of all his actions.

Last night while she was making him spiteful, he was already doing everything for her.

“You… Why didn’t you tell me anything?”

She was surprised. Compared to the fact that her company’s data was leaked, she was more surprised that he had done all these for her.

“I instructed your close aides in that company not to tell you anything.”

His eyes were glued on Pei Ge and they were filled with tenderness.

The only person he loved was her, so how could he bear to let her fight a battle alone?

“I…”

The woman needed not say anything because all the man had done for her was visible now.

“Alright, I’ve already gotten the remuneration I wanted.”

His blurry eyes scanned her body from top to bottom and vice versa until she gently hit his arm. “If you look again, I’ll dig your eyes out.”

“Sure, if my eyes are dug out, they can be auctioned for a high price.”

He was not infuriated and, instead, gazed mirthfully at the little woman before him with his gentler eyes.

“How do you plan to settle this matter?”

His voice quickly became frosty again. He would always know how to behave when it came to serious matters.

“Let me settle my company’s affairs. It isn’t very peaceful these past few days.”

She had a hunch that the company would be faced with a far more serious matter. If this crisis was not it, then something more serious would happen. It seemed that everything had a new problem.

“Sure, do feel free to tell me if you need my help. I’ll always be by your side.”

The man’s eyes darkened. When he looked at her, there was warmth in them which he could not conceal.

“I got it.”

She nodded just as he handed another document to her.

“This is the list of all the employees in your company I’ve arranged. It’s certainly not easy checking each of these people, so I made remarks on them, including the situation of their families. This includes the janitors.”

“Doesn’t this mean that you’ve settled everything for me?”

Pei Ge was surprised. She was supposed to settle her company’s matters, but he had done so before she could. He even made annotations on every employee. Therefore, she only could sort out the new hires and learn more about them just by reading this file. By doing this, the one who had leaked the company’s confidential information could be found.

“No, just as you said, this is your company’s matter. I can only help you this much; you must decide on what to do for the rest.”

His lisp curled up and he looked at her more endearingly.

“Okay.”

She nodded in acknowledgment of his good intentions.

The night was getting darker. The two had been settling office matters for a long while. Pei Ge spent some time considering the three most suspicious persons in the company but rejected her choices in the end.

“Let’s go; it’s time to head home for dinner.”

After being around the woman, Ji Ziming found enjoyment in going home early for dinner.

“Okay.”

Still clueless after a whole afternoon of browsing, she felt that her brain had expanded to five or six times its size. All traces and clues seemed to have bee broken when it came to her.

All of a sudden, she saw a name. The person’s family background and even his relationships with others were clean.

She knew that the more spotless a person’s background was, the greater danger lay in them.

“Ziming, look at this person.”

She sat on the sofa and signaled him to come over.

He stood up and his tall build made him look like a huge tree and his shadow covered Pei Ge. The lights in the office decreased as they shone on his back.

“What’s wrong?”

He walked to her, and the shadow which he cast made the woman lift her head and look right into his eyes.

His beautiful features, cold contours, and silent eyes were so good-looking and striking.

“What’s wrong?”

He frowned when he saw the person in front of him blushing.

“No… I-I want you to look at this person.”

She pointed at the second to the last person on the list, who was the HR Manager in her company.

Ji Ziming’s eyes sparkled and became normal again. “What’s wrong?”

“I have no impression of her.”

“Oh?”

His lips curled up. It seemed that this little woman was not that stupid, after all.

“Are you sure? Is there any problem with her?”

He sat down beside her and supported his cheek with one hand and rested the other on his knee. Seeing her explaining herself seriously made him feel that she looked especially good like this.

“I don’t know if there’s any problem with this, but I feel that the HR manager I saw in the office looks different from the photo. She wrote that she only lived with her father in her family background. Could there be any reason that she chose to—”

“I understand what you’re saying; go investigate in case it’s suspicious.”

He nodded. “No matter what you do, I’ll support you. Of course, if you need my help, just say so.”

“I got it; don’t worry.”

Her beautiful eyes narrowed at him while her blush receded. In place of it was a calm and composed look. “Ziming, thank you for helping me.”

“You’re being polite with me again. I’ve said before that we’re a family and you’re my woman. If you didn’t insist on doing all of this on your own, I would settle it for you.”

He laughed. In actual fact, the man had already found that person, but because this was her choice, he remained silent even if he knew the truth. He would do everything she wanted, including keeping quiet.

“Alright, alright, alright. I shan’t say further.” She smiled.
