258- Poisoned (中毒)
Just after Jing Yun Zhao left Old Man Xu’s place, Li Shao Yun, whom she’d been waiting for a few days for, finally announced the results.
Without a single shred of doubt, they weren’t related.
Under this night, Jing Yun Zhao finally smiled, she kept the container of medicine back into her space. She was in quite a pleasant mood, so she shopped a little more on her way back home and bought some more things.
On the way, she passed by a tea shop. She peeked her head in, but even though it was a mess inside, she still went in. The moment she stepped through the doors, she found three people collapsed on the floor. Their faces and lips were black and they were convulsing, some even vomiting. It was disgusting and their fingers were also undergoing cyanosis 1.
This kind of situation looked not unlike poisoning.
Jing Yun Zhao immediately rushed forward and her expression also changed. Why would the people of a regular tea shop like this be poisoned with heartbreak grass out of nowhere?
Heartbreak grass, also known as Gelsemium Elegans, would make someone feel lightheaded just from a few sniffs. The poison was very strong, but because it was still a type of plant, it wasn’t something commonly seen…
Those heavily poisoned with this could possibly die. Jing Yun Zhao didn’t dare to dally too long and, under the cover of her bag, she took some fresh japanese violets 2 and swept her gaze around the shop. Once she found the utensils needed to mash it up, she added water and filtered it, before bringing it over to the three.
“Everyone, make way!” She was strong and pushed her way through the people and, without hesitation, poured the juice into their mouths.
Even though it was to be said to be a major poison, the antidote wasn’t really complicated. Other than Japanese violets, duck, goose, and goat blood could also be used to alleviate the poison. Otherwise, there was also the option of brewing red beans and lido rice root and taking it with water. However, under these circumstances, it wasn’t too convenient to implement these options. She could only choose to take the herbs from her space.
After settling the three poisoned victims, Jing Yun Zhao finally relaxed, but the next second, she was caught unaware by someone and dragged away.
“Jing Yun Zhao! Why are you here? What did you just feed them?!” the other party showered questions on them.
When she raised her head, she couldn’t help but sigh. It really was a matter of enemies meeting on a narrow road. The number of tea houses in Hua Ning County, but she had to save the people in the one belonging to the Jiang family.
“You can’t tell what I’m doing?” Jing Yun Zhao found it funny, the people who were poisoned were already visibly doing better, but this Father Jiang still wanted to interrogate her.
Father Jiang’s mood hadn’t been good for the entire day. During the day, he was extorted 100,000 yuan by that dog piece of shit Qiao Wei Min. Qiao Hong Ye, that shameless and honorless girl, was still staying in their home and refusing to leave. His son had also learned from her bad example. These few days had already been making his head spin, how would he know something would also happen in his tea house?!
He had been operating his tea house for more than a decade and something like this had never happened!
All that was in there was tea, how could it kill anyone?
“Was it you?! It’s not like I don’t know how poisonous your heart is. Coming to my shop to create trouble for me on a night like this, you’re really outrageously daring huh! To get your hands on poison at such a young age, if something happened to the three of them, you’ll be on your own!” Father Jiang seethed.
Jing Yun Zhao huffed,” You’re saying I poisoned them? Are you treating these customers’ eyes as problematic?”
When she finished, she directly rushed to where the three customers were seated and carried over the cold tea and mocked, “Uncle Jiang, this cold tea of yours is made with beautyberry leaf, right? But it’s a pity that you can’t even tell the difference between beautyberry leaf and heartbreak grass, causing your customers to consume the wrong thing. Now you’re blaming that on me? Do you have the right?”
“Nonsense! What heartbreak grass! I’ve never heard of it!”
Father Jiang had a guilty conscience but was indignant, and without another word, charged towards her and snatched over the leftover cold tea from Jing Yun Zhao’s hands and threw it onto the floor, the contents spilling everywhere!
