Chapter 260 - A Familiar Face? A Foe!

Chapter 260: A Familiar Face? A Foe!

Night fell as the setting sun at the edge of the sky lost the last of its remaining glow.

Flaming Blazing Flames was running through the forest with an ominous look on his face. Behind him, a tall and burly black silhouette carrying a limitlessly pressurizing force kept chasing him.

This towering humanoid silhouette, which was wearing sunglasses, was like a beast closing in with heavy steps and constant rhythm. It did not even try to avoid the skills that he would occasional turn back to unleash. The fireballs that smashed on his body only exploded into lumps of Energy flames without any damage coefficient.

What the f*ck? What the hell is this creature?

Flaming Blazing Flames did not fully understand what the opponent was made of and cursed furiously in his mind.

A few days earlier, due to both his Criminal Points and Illegal Points breaking through a thousand, and also his killing of two players who had taken his bounty-hunting mission, Flaming Blazes Flames had triggered this mission while he was going to the Town of Exiles to clear his name.

Under the invitation from an anonymous NPC, he had accepted this mission with a malicious smile. To him, this kind of murder mission was undoubtedly his forte and he did not expect to encounter any difficulty.

According to his estimation, even if he could not get into the top three, top ten should definitely be within his grasp. He had not expected that this so-called “battle royale” game would slip out of his grasp right at the start!

He had just landed and had finished listening to the description of the rules by the army officer in a black uniform. He had not even clearly studied his surroundings when a Light Armored Warrior with green-glowing eyes came charging over to kill him!

A rebel beastified warrior!

As a frequent visitor to Silvermoon City’s Town of Exiles, Flaming Blazing Flames had a good understanding of the rebellion’s beastified warriors. He sensed a threat at the sight of his opponent’s eyes and quickly fled.

Luckily, due to his understanding of the rebellion’s beastified warriors, even though he had been battered and was exhausted from being chased, he had still escaped in the end. However, his expectation of claiming the advantage by carrying out his initial plan of mass-killings had been doomed.

When he had finally seized the chance to kill over 10 people consecutively in the daytime and had unlocked most of the equipment on him, he had thought that his points should have already been very high, possibly even in the top five.

Hence, seeing that a “Hunter” had landed not far from him, he already had the intention of testing the ability of the opponent. He had not expected that the “Hunter” would show no interest in him, carrying his heavy firearms and running off towards another direction.

Very clearly, this Hunter’s actions undoubtedly proved one thing – he was not on the primary hunting list of these Hunters at all, which meant that his ranking was not even in the top 24.

Damn it, how is that possible?

He followed the “Hunter” with a dark face.

Over 10 seconds later, his expression had completely changed when he had personally seen with his eyes a fight between this so-called “Hunter” and a Light Armored Warrior he suspected must be ranked in the first 24!

The Light Armored Warrior was very powerful indeed, possibly even more powerful than Flaming Blazing Flames. However, when facing the “Hunter” charging straight up to him without any attempts to conceal itself, he was utterly defeated.

The Light Armored Warrior’s HP had been reduced by half due to the heavy firepower of the Hunter when he was still some distance away.

When he had finally closed in, the Light Armored Warrior was even more unexpectedly crushed in close-combat by this Hunter. Flaming Blazing Flames had thought that the Hunter must be of the gunner profession, but this did not seem to be the case. The Light Armored Warrior was finished off without barely a chance to retaliate.

An instant later, the Hunter looked straight towards Flaming Blazing Flames’ position. Even though his eyes were blocked by sunglasses, Flaming Blazing Flames could feel the expressionless glare beneath them.

Damn it!

Totally giving up the impractical thought of killing this Hunter, Flaming Blazing Flames first covered himself with a forcefield then quickly fled.

Luckily for him, after killing the top-ranked Light Armored Warrior, the weapon in his opponent’s hand had already been depleted of some of its bullets. The Hunter now carried an Alloy Sword he had picked up from beside the Light Armored Warrior’s corpse.

Without the long-range threat of the opponent’s firearms, Flaming Blazing Flames was at least a little more relaxed as he fled.

It was as if this Hunter had locked on him, persistently chasing behind him.

As a Manipulator, his original movement speed was not fast, and so sprinting at high speed was extremely draining. Therefore, even if this Hunter’s movement speed was not very fast, Flaming Blazing Flames still had no way of shaking him off.

The fact that he had been moving about in this region today was a good thing. It allowed him to be very clear about the surrounding environment. As he fled, he had deliberately lured this Hunter into a densely forested region.

It was now already evening, and the deep parts of the forest were already very dark., Flaming Blazing Flames quickly realized that his thought of wanting to rely on the darkness to escape was futile. As soon as they entered the deep part of the forest, the eyes of the Hunter had shone two dots of red light.

In the unlit environment, looking at this rebel beastified warrior which looked even more obvious than the rebel beastified warrior with red-glowing eyes from before, he recalled one thing.

The black-uniformed army officer had said that, regardless of whether the map was opened, these Hunters could actually know the positions of the surrounding “players”.

Damn it, I forgot about this!

Flaming Blazing Flames’ face fell. He unleashed another obstructing fireball behind him as he hurriedly ran towards the edge of the forest.

“Hm, has he come out?”

10 seconds later, on a tall and steep slope on the outskirts of the forest further away, Feng Luo was holding the Barrett and staring through the scope at a position at the edge of the forest.

Due to the fact that the movement tracks of all the Hunters would directly appear on the map, it was actually very easy for him to determine the moving targets of these Hunters.

For this Hunter now, it was clear from his movement tracks that he was chasing a “prey”.

But what surprised Feng Luo was that the Fire Manipulator player with a grave face being chased out of the forest was actually a “familiar face”!

Of course, familiar faces must be differentiated into two types: friend or foe, and this person belonged to the second type.

During this round of system version update, in order to quickly level up, he had previously carried out bounty-hunting missions for a few days consecutively.

The last mission target he had received was a Fire Manipulator player with the ID of “Flaming Blazing Flames”. His mission had failed, not because of the ability of this Fire Manipulator, but because this Fire Manipulator had collaborated with Roaring Dragon ‘Lightwind’, especially making use of his Wanted Mission to set a trap for Feng Luo.

Luckily, 24K had already hatched the first Elite Scout beetle at that time. Feng Luo had relied on the Scout beetle’s special sight to discover Energy fluctuations in the buildings of the ruins region and escaped.

However, although he had successfully gotten out, he had failed the mission, which was one of his only two failures at hunting missions.

Hence, the relationship between Feng Luo and Flaming Blazing Flames could be said to be foes.

Feng Luo had not really taken this grudge to heart and had not intended to get back at this Flaming Blazing Flames in any way, but now the opponent was putting his head right in front of Feng Luo’s gun!

How could one not happily claim such a head?
