The General's Little Peasant Wife

Chapter 163

When there was nothing to do, Qiao Tian Chang liked to stay close to Ning Meng Yao’s side; listening to her talk about business and family. Her gentle voice was the sweetest sound that Qiao Tian Chang had ever listened to.

“What are you looking at?” Ning Meng Yao turned around and saw Qiao Tian Chang focused on her with a smile on his face.

Such a look made Ning Meng Yao feel overwhelmed.

“Nothing, I suddenly feel that this kind of life is really good.” Previously, he hadn't known the meaning of life. He had often occupied himself with various things to do to numb himself, and even after arriving at White Mountain Village, he was still looking for things to do to fill up the void within him.

However, after knowing Ning Meng Yao, it seemed that he didn't ever need to trouble himself by thinking of what he had to do every day. As long as he was with her, time seemed to pass especially fast. Day after day passed without him even realizing it.

Ning Meng Yao was stunned before she laughed. Right, life was good.

As for Yang Cui, she was planning to stay at home for a few days before going back to Ning Meng Yao's place. She had spent the time planning on how she should return and attack Ning Meng Yao. Who knew that the arrival of a person interrupted her plan, and that person was Yang Cui's husband, the son of the county magistrate, Li Wei.

“Cui'er, I'm here to pick you up.” Li Wei shouted as soon as he entered the door. It was obvious that he was very concerned about Yang Cui. This made Madame Chen very proud. It would be even better if her daughter took this chance to have a child with him. At the thought of this, Madame Chen grinned.

Yang Cui, who was still in deep thoughts of her plan, heard his voice and a smile finally showed on her face.

“Yang Cui is in her room.” Madame Chen said with a pleasant voice.

Li Wei glanced at Madame Chen and thanked her faintly with mockery in his eyes. However, Madame Chen could not read him.

“Since you're here, why not stay here for a few days before going back?” Madame Chen asked anxiously.

She wanted Li Wei to stay for a few days to let the village people see that her daughter had married to a good person. Even if she was his concubine, she one who was doted on.

She wanted to let everyone know that Qiao Tian Chang was nothing compared to the son of a county magistrate.

Li Wei's brows slightly wrinkled as he took a glance at the house. Although he didn’t speak, he felt utterly disgusted.

He was an only son in his family. How could he stay in such a place? Even if this was Yang Cui’s home, he still couldn't bring himself to do so.

He only favored Yang Cui because she was more obedient.

Yang Cui looked out from her room and noticed Li Wei's impatient expression. She rushed out from her room: “Dear, you're here. Why aren't you saying anything?”

Seeing Yang Cui running towards him so quickly, he blinked his eyes and finally reached for her waist.

Yang Cui’s body slightly stiffened, then she softly leaned against his arms and clutched his clothes. However, no matter how you look at it, the way they stood shoulder to shoulder felt somewhat strange. But Madame Chen still felt happy for her daughter.

The people standing outside felt insulted seeing Yang Cui's behavior. They gossiped a little then returned to their own homes. Just because Madame Chen was happy didn't mean that others felt the same way as her.

Li Wei lifted Yang Cui’s chin and said faintly: “I didn't see you at home, so I came over.”

“Dear, I wish to stay with my family for a few days, is that alright with you?” Yang Cui looked up at Li Wei. Her expression a little uneasy.

Li Wei saw the uneasiness in her eyes. And the faint smile on his face became bigger: “Since you want to stay here for a few days, then go ahead.”

Yang Cui was happy. She nodded quickly: "Thank you, dear."

Li Wei leaned close to Yang Cui’s ear and nibbled her earlobe. He said, “You know what to do for me in return, right?”

“Dear, you're so naughty.” Yang Cui blushed.

Watching the two flirting with each other, Madame Chen felt even more satisfied. This was how things should be. Her daughter should use all means to hold him firmly in her hands.

Yang Cui gave a signal to her mother, and Madame Chen nodded. “Oh dear me. You two carry on, I'm going out to buy some meat.” While saying that, Madame Chen left quickly as if a ghost was chasing after her.
