Compared to the barrage of questions from Samantha, Kanter was more urgently concerned with Angel’s current state. From the brief glimpse before reaching Lassudral, Angel appeared unharmed, but Kanter didn’t dare to confirm that for certain.

After all, there was an unknown strong presence by Angel’s side.

However, Kanter couldn’t directly ask Angel whether he was safe, worrying that such a question might anger the dark-skinned woman. He could only ask vaguely, “Are you alright now?”

Angel, who had just been bombarded by Samantha’s questions, felt warmth in his heart upon hearing Kanter’s inquiry.

“I am fine.”

“If you’re in good condition, then come back with us,” Samantha paused. “Your mentor is also waiting for you.”

Although Samantha’s tone still carried an air of arrogance, they had indeed planned to take Angel back with them. Kanter too wanted to know if Angel could leave with them.

Only after Angel had left this dangerous area would Kanter dare to truly confirm his safety. At the same time, there wouldn’t be any worry about provoking that supreme being with their questions.

Angel actually wanted to return as well, but… he glanced at Toby and, with a sigh within his heart, said,

“I still have some matters to attend to and can’t leave just yet.”

“Why can’t you leave? Has that woman imprisoned you?” Samantha’s tone was skeptical.

However, no sooner had Samantha finished speaking than an overpowering sense of dread, borne from deep within, descended from the sky and mercilessly pressed down upon her.

Having nearly exhausted her magical core in the fight against Nitotipu, Samantha was defenseless against such a ferocious spiritual pressure. She immediately plunged into endless darkness, where at its edge, a pair of eyes—one green and one red—watched her coldly.

“Ah—” Samantha let out a piteous cry, her figure swaying unsteadily.

Kanter steadied her, preventing Samantha from stumbling and falling. Judging by the current situation, Samantha’s use of the dismissive term “that woman” had clearly enraged the other party. Any supreme being has their limits, and in the Wizards’ Realm, such behavior by Samantha would undoubtedly be suicidal.

Kanter shook his head, realizing that Nitotipu’s influence on Samantha’s emotions had not yet abated.

However, Samantha’s impetuous act was not entirely without benefit; at least it gave Kanter two pieces of information: first, that the supreme being must be watching their conversation, meaning they must be careful and measured in their questions henceforth; second, the supreme being had not killed Samantha outright, suggesting there was still room for de-escalation.

Whatever Kanter thought inwardly did not affect his outward expression. After propping Samantha up, Kanter softly told her, “Leave this to me; you take a rest.”

Although his tone seemed commanding, his eyes conveyed a message that brooked no argument.

Samantha opened her mouth to speak but ended up suppressing the words she had been about to say. Indeed, her emotional control was on the verge of collapse, not suitable for further questioning… Moreover, after being attacked by that supreme being, Samantha was worried that she might say something even more disgraceful.

After Samantha fell silent, Kanter finally turned back to Angel and asked, “The reason you can’t leave, is it about yourself?”

“It’s Toby,” Angel paused. “Mentor should be aware of Toby’s condition. I need to remove the curse on Toby before I can leave.”

Kanter suddenly realized the situation, as he was well-aware of Toby’s condition. Sky Island had faced the turmoil of the Evil God, and it was because of the information left by Angel, informing them of the Calamity Curse, that Sanders and Rhein were able to come quickly. The reason Angel knew about the curse was because Toby had also been afflicted with it.

Samantha, unaware of Toby’s situation, looked at Kanter in confusion.

Kanter whispered to her, “Calamity Curse.”

Samantha’s pupils shrank. ‘Brown Sugar Servant’ Brufen had previously eaten an Olaf Tentacle Crab, resulting in the Calamity Curse, so she knew all too well the grave consequences it brought.

If it was because of the Calamity Curse that Angel chose not to return, then that was an acceptable reason.

“I see, but are you sure you can lift the Calamity Curse?” asked Kanter.

Angel: “Yes, the place for removal, mentor should know too. Once I’ve lifted the curse, I will return immediately.”

The place for removal, Sanders knew? Kanter recalled and then thought about Sanders’ previous words that Angel had left a message in Wind Whisper Valley saying ‘he was going to Ice Valley.’ Considering the omnipresent curses within Ice Valley, it suggested that the being in Ice Valley must be quite adept regarding curses, which made sense.

So, did Angel mean that he intended to go to Ice Valley to lift the curse? But why then did he appear in Lassudral?

Before Kanter could ask, Angel continued from where he left off, saying, “I came to Lassudral to complete a senior’s task. Only by doing so can I save Toby.”

As for what the task was, Angel couldn’t reveal it. It pertained to Odeclass’ strength status, and Angel estimated that if he disclosed it, Fafnir would probably obliterate Kanter and Samantha.

Having heard what Angel had to say, Kanter came to a realization. It seemed that the dragon in Ice Valley had arranged for Angel to come here. Although Angel did not specify the task, at least Kanter understood one thing: they could not take Angel away just yet, but he knew that Angel’s next step would be to go to Ice Valley.

By then, it would be possible to wait for Angel at the Ice Valley.

“Okay, I understand. I will convey your message to Sanders,” Kanter said, “By the way, the message you sent before, are you sure it’s true? Is there really a lord about to Ascend the Throne?”

Given the current splendid skies, Kanter could almost confirm the news, but of course, he still had to ask.

Now that the topic had shifted to the main issue, Samantha wasn’t idle either; she covertly activated the communicator, and using long-distance magic to maintain the frequency, connected to the floating ice above.

“It’s true, the Night Innkeeper is indeed about to Ascend the Throne very soon.”

The Night Innkeeper? From Angel’s tone, it seemed he knew the person?

While Kanter pondered this question, Angel abruptly changed the topic: “However, that’s not important for now. The most pressing matter is that the floating ice in the sky must leave its current location.”

Angel’s words were filled with an evident urgency and anxiety.

Not only did they reach the ears of Kanter and Samantha, but Samantha also relayed them to the floating ice in the sky.

Monty looked at Sanders, “Your apprentice seems to indeed know quite a lot.”

Sanders could see the probing look in Monty’s eyes. Sanders himself was expressionless, but he sighed inwardly with resignation.

Before, when Monty told him that Angel had Sinafa send a message, upon hearing it, Sanders’s heart clenched with worry, hoping that Angel wouldn’t become the focal point of the vortex. Because when one’s individual strength is inferior, becoming the center of the vortex will not turn them into a trendsetter but only a target.

But contrary to his wishes.

Sanders sighed deeply within his heart. Angel not causing trouble was simply impossible. He just hoped that Angel wouldn’t reveal anything too shocking next.

Just as Sanders thought this, a commotion came through the communicator.

“Why must it leave?” Kanter looked at Angel with confusion.

Angel glanced back at Fafnir, who seemed to not be paying attention to this conversation, continuing to calmly drink her wine and eat her meat. He then sneakily peeked at Canaan; what he was about to say, after all, was told to him by Canaan. To say it in front of him, Angel felt somewhat embarrassed.

Canaan, however, showed no change in expression, continuously chewing on Magic Marrow Meat and repeatedly muttering, “Delicious.”

Though the Magic Marrow Meat Greya provided tasted good, it was actually flavorless. Canaan clearly knew what Angel was about to say and acted this way to indicate his attitude.

Angel gave Canaan a slight nod, then stepped out of the Domain of Wind.

Fafnir didn’t stop him, and Canaan’s expression remained unchanged, just sighing in an almost inaudible whisper before quickly returning his gaze to his plate. He wasn’t lying; for him, the Magic Marrow Meat was indeed delicious. Though inherently bland, it was cool and smooth, crisp to bite into, perfect with a dip of wine, thoroughly matching his taste.

With ripples echoing out like water, Angel’s figure appeared in front of Kanter.

Angel’s appearance surprised both Kanter and Samantha; from this, it seemed that the ultra-powerful being wasn’t restraining Angel?

Kanter approached Angel, eyeing him carefully.

After not seeing Angel for just a few days, he noticed no change. He paid attention to Angel’s aura, which was calm and steady, his clothes unwrinkled, and his hair meticulously groomed. This meant that what Angel had said earlier was likely true; he indeed seemed to be doing well.

Presumably, even better than they were. After all, Kanter himself almost fell during the Evil God’s rampage.

On the other hand, Samantha was also scrutinizing Angel. She had seen Angel before at the Watchguard Fortress but hadn’t really paid attention to him. Now, taking a proper look, her understanding of Angel was renewed.

When Angel first appeared, his attire made her think she was seeing a second Sanders. But on closer inspection, one could see that Sanders’s strictness was innate, and he always had an indifferent demeanor. Angel was different; he exuded peace, even mildness, and there was a natural sense of Alienation about him, which reminded Samantha of the Book Elder.

“Academy Faction,” Samantha mused inwardly. Sanders, who always had issues with Wallace from the Academy Faction, had in the end taken an apprentice from the Academy Faction.

If Sanders knew Samantha’s thoughts, he would likely scoff immediately.

Indeed, he too initially thought Angel was a proper Academy Faction member.

“It seems you’ve been doing well. Tell me, are you that shop owner?” Kanter inquired curiously after his observation. Sinafa had asked before, but Angel had evaded the question. However, Kanter had a hunch that the mysterious little shop owner who stirred up trouble in Lassudral might be none other than the Angel before him.

Angel’s expression paused, then in the next second, it shifted to one of urgency: “That’s not important right now. The most crucial thing is that the floating ice can’t stay where it is because the Demons are initiating a human cleansing plan!”
