Chapter 613: Mercenary Termination

So many people!

Ruling Sword swept across the area like the wind, leaving behind a floor covered in equips and loot.

If it weren’t for the equips on the ground and the scorched ground from the fight, it would be very difficult to believe that there were hundreds of players here. They were like hunters that had slaughtered a group of lost lambs.

The mercenaries didn’t have time to ask questions or fight back.

Before they could react, the players from Ruling Swords had completely steamrolled through them without any reason or explanation.

As Lu Li stood in the crowd, he felt the overwhelming power that he wielded. This was the power given to him by the players in his guild.

For the players in Ruling Sword, he was their spiritual leader, their all-powerful god. Anyone who dared challenge them would have the face the 60,000 players under his command.

This group of 500 Elite players was just an example of what Ruling Sword was capable of.

As soon as they heard Lu Li’s cry for help, they all immediately left Gadgetzan and forcefully removed any players along the way that tried to stop them.

There were several mercenaries who hunted other players for equips along the way, but they were no match for the members of Ruling Sword.

"You killed quite a lot of people," Square Root Three said as he unmounted while laughing.

Lu Li’s buffs were timing out and the active animations were disappearing. His achievement did not go unnoticed as his PVP points skyrocketed, surpassing several players on the PVP rankings.

There were only three players with more than 100 PvP points, so most players in Dawn knew about them.

PVP points were earned when a player killed another player outside of town. Players with high PVP points dropped more equips upon death and they were often hunted by bounty hunters. Once killed, they would be arrested and thrown into jail, where a large sum of gold could bail them out. Otherwise, they would be locked up for quite some time.

One hundred PVP points equated to 100 hours.

"I found a good piece of equipment for myself. The rest can be distributed amongst the members in the guild," Lu Li said as he licked his dry lips and calmed himself down.

Square Root Three had no idea what Lu Li had experienced, but as long as he came out on top, he would always be unconditionally supporting him. To Square Root Three, it didn’t matter who those players were, as long as he carried out his duty in helping Lu Li.

He had been a part of Star Moon Union before and knew how major guilds operated. Although Star Moon Union operated like a major guild, they did not have the numbers to back this up. Comparatively, the current Ruling Sword had reached a total of 60,000 members and they were also in an alliance with Drizzle Court. They were capable of easily overpowering major guilds such as Blood Red War Flag.

Lu Li and Square Root Three headed to the Zul’Farrak Instance Dungeon.

This time, no one dared to try and stop them. The mercenaries that were waiting for them up the road heard about the news and ran away as far they could from Lu Li and Ruling Sword.

Lu Li contemplated and began typing in world chat.

He was a professional player, so the font and color of his words was more noticeable.

"Today I witnessed thousands of solo players defeated by a team of mercenaries with lesser numbers. Why can’t you solo players team up and strengthen yourselves? If you don’t like being oppressed by the major guilds, then create a chatroom and stand up for yourselves. Don’t get bullied in a game guys. Stop embarrassing yourselves."

When Lu Li hit send, many players were shocked.

Many thought that Lu Li’s account had been hacked or that this was some sort of a joke.

No one knew that in Lu Li’s past life, he was one of those solo players that had been bullied by mercenaries. No one understood how these solo players felt more than he did.

It wasn’t until someone explained the events that had unfolded near the Zul’farrak dungeon over the past few days that they understood what Lu Li was going on about. Although the major guilds weren’t afraid of these mercenaries, they never dared to challenge them. This was because they had to maintain a positive image within the general gaming community to thrive.

The solo players felt the same and hoped that Lu Li and Ruling Sword could deliver justice for them.

The mercenaries that had been defeated today were furious and began talking back.

"Why do you care about how we play the game? What’s so great about major guilds? From today on, we’ll only hunt your guild members so that no one dares to join your guild."

"Overpowered Dragon? He’s a professional Mage and also the co-leader of Dragon’s Peak mercenary group. Is he trying to declare war?" Square Root Three heard about this very quickly.

Dragon’s Peak was a large scale mercenary group consisting of several thousand players. All of their main players had the word "Dragon" in their ID and they were all quite arrogant.

Since there was no laws enforcement or consequences in games, there were many arrogant people hiding behind their virtual characters.

But for them to declare war against Ruling Sword?

This was nothing more than a joke to them.

If these rumors were confirmed, several players would immediately quit Dragon’s Peak out of fear because they knew that they couldn’t defeat Ruling Sword.

Usually, Major Guilds would only associate with one another and leave the smaller guilds and groups alone. However, if the opportunity arose, they would go out of their way to show off what they were capable of.

Overpowered Dragon wasn’t overpowered enough and remained silent.

There was a unique relationship between Major Guilds and other players. The image of a Major Guild was determined by their reputation among the gaming community, thus giving casual players power. However, at the same time, Major Guilds had power over these casual players because of their numbers and resources.

Ruling Sword was very capable of not allowing anyone from Dragon’s Peak to leave the safe zone.

After threatening Dragon’s Peak, Square Root Three began organizing the Zul’farrak dungeon runs. The 500 players from Ruling Sword formed 50 teams of 10 players and began farming a considerable amount of EXP and equipment with the help of Lu Li’s strategies.

Besides numbers, equipment was important in building up the strength of a guild.

Lu Li entered the dungeon and saw Wandering and the others, who had been wiped out twice, sitting in front of the Boss waiting for his help.
