Starting with a Super Five-Star Hotel

Chapter 402 Still Extravagant_1

"Ah Chun, you motherf—" Wang Shanhu, who was massaging Su Xuan's feet, suddenly cursed at Ah Chun under his breath.

He never expected Ah Chun to actually use his cultivation to massage Su Xuan's feet, his vital energy fluctuating constantly! That's just too sycophantic, too damn calculating!

Wang Shanhu quickly took a deep breath and also began to circulate the vital energy in his body, increasing the force of his massage, terrified his status would drop yet again.

"They're using their cultivation to give a foot massage!"

"Things have really changed in our Servants' Quarters!"

The disciples outside exchanged glances, each of them wondering, Should I do something to get on his good side, too? I don't want that ruthless bastard to make an example of me if he's in a bad mood.

After a while, once they had finished attending to Su Xuan, Wang Shanhu and Ah Chun began to make his bed. They even offered him a set of brand-new cotton bedding they had never been willing to use themselves, making Su Xuan's bed the most luxurious one in the entire Servants' Quarters.

That night, all the servant disciples were in a daze.

「The next morning,」

Su Xuan woke up to the smell of roasted meat.

He opened his eyes to see Wang Shanhu holding a roast chicken, standing respectfully before his bed.

"Brother Su, please enjoy your breakfast," Wang Shanhu said with a grin. "I caught it especially for you from the back mountain this morning."

His face was still swollen, looking as if he were holding half a steamed bun in his cheek. Because Su Xuan had knocked out a few of his teeth, he even whistled slightly when he spoke.

"I need to wash up first."

Su Xuan stretched his body. His current living conditions were harsh, but his bed was extremely comfortable, and he had slept surprisingly well last night.

"Brother Su, please wash up."

Ah Chun immediately brought over a brand-new basin full of water and placed it before Su Xuan, saying, "This is mountain spring water I specially heated for you. The temperature is just right."

"Thank you."

After washing up, Su Xuan started eating the roast chicken. He couldn't help but marvel at the order of the world on the mountain; it was far too easy for the strong to exploit the weak.

As he was eating, a group of figures suddenly appeared at the doorway. They were all servant disciples.

"Brother Su, this is some cured meat my mother sent a few days ago. Please accept it."

"Brother Su, these are cloth shoes my wife stitched by hand. They may not be pretty, but they're perfect for walking mountain paths. See if they fit!"

"Brother Su, this is a wild ginseng root I happened to dig up. You can make it into a soup."

The servant disciples presented their gifts to Su Xuan one by one, making him feel a little embarrassed.

"Well..."

Su Xuan didn't want to take advantage of them. After a moment's thought, he took out a pouch of pills he had collected and poured out more than a dozen, intending to share them.

In my mind, these pills might be miraculous and precious to people from the world below, but for those on the mountain, they should be common and unremarkable. After all, every mountain-dweller he'd met so far carried a good number of them.

But he quickly realized he was wrong.

The moment he revealed the pills, everyone in the room gasped.

It was as if he had unveiled a priceless treasure.

None of them dared to accept Su Xuan's pills, saying only that they appreciated the thought. The truth was, a single one of the pills in Su Xuan's hand was something they, as servant disciples, would be lucky to obtain even after half a year of hard labor for the sect.

They were utterly moved by Su Xuan's gesture of offering them pills. They concluded that while Su Xuan was a ruthless man, he was incredibly generous to his own people. They couldn't even begin to imagine how he had gotten his hands on so many pills.

"Brother Su," Wang Shanhu suddenly whispered, "you must never show things like this in public again. It could bring you a lot of trouble!"

"Alright."

Su Xuan put away the pills amid the envious gazes of the crowd.

"Brother Su, you should head to the clothing house this morning to pick up your sect uniform," Wang Shanhu said thoughtfully, noticing Su Xuan was still in his clothes from the world below.

"Fine," Su Xuan waved his hand. "Lead the way."

Wang Shanhu respectfully led Su Xuan outside.

Walking along the path to the clothing house, Su Xuan had no time to admire the majestic morning scenery of the Floating Cloud Sect. He was frowning, deep in thought.

Last night, I asked Wang Shanhu some questions about the current war between the sects and about Qi Li and her father, but I didn't get any valuable information. It's not that he didn't want to tell me; as a mere servant disciple, he just doesn't know very much. He doesn't have access to that kind of information. Based on my own situation, I can only guess that the Floating Cloud Sect isn't the same one Qi Li left behind. Something must have changed. Otherwise, why would a friend of hers be dumped in the Servants' Quarters? It's likely that Qi Li and Lu Dongshan aren't doing too well themselves. If they were, they would have definitely come to see me this morning.

I have to find out what happened to the Floating Cloud Sect, or my quest for medicine will be impossible... Su Xuan muttered to himself, a stranger in this new world.

"Brother Su, after we get the clothes, we have to go to the back mountain and chop trees," Wang Shanhu said from the side. "It's been two days since the last battle with the Spirit-Taming Sect. I'm afraid there will probably be another fight in a day or two. We need to cut down some trees to help the sect make things for the battle. It's a task assigned to us from above."

"Okay," Su Xuan replied casually.

"But don't you worry," Wang Shanhu quickly added. "You can just find a place to rest. We'll handle the hard labor."

The two chatted as they walked and soon arrived before a small pavilion. Bolts of fabric in various colors were laid out to dry on wooden racks in front of it.

"Su Xuan?"

"You aren't registered as a servant disciple, so you can't receive a uniform!"

But when Wang Shanhu went to get the clothes for Su Xuan, a problem arose. Apparently, Su Xuan was not registered as a servant disciple and therefore wasn't qualified to receive a sect uniform.

"Check again," Wang Shanhu told the disciple in charge of distribution. "Brother Su was definitely assigned to the Servants' Quarters!"

"He's not on the list!"

But after checking again, there was still no record of Su Xuan's registration.

"Let's go."

Su Xuan gestured to Wang Shanhu and walked out of the pavilion.

"It's all my fault, Brother Su," Wang Shanhu apologized. "I should have confirmed the details before bringing you here and making you waste a trip."

"It doesn't matter."

Su Xuan glanced down at his clothes. "As long as you're all fine with it."

His luxurious designer clothes were very distinctive and conspicuous within the sect.

"Are the Floating Cloud Sect's rules strict?" Su Xuan suddenly asked.

"Strict. Very strict," Wang Shanhu replied. "Even a small mistake can lead to severe punishment you'll regret for the rest of your life!"

Su Xuan rubbed his chin and smiled. "Does that mean I'm not bound by the sect's regulations?"

Wang Shanhu glanced back at the clothing pavilion and opened his mouth. "You shouldn't be. There's no registration record for you."

Wang Shanhu suddenly had an ominous feeling. This new boss of mine... he's not planning to do something out of line, is he?

And what happened next proved his suspicion correct...
