BOOM!
After the impact, the front of Edward's car became unstable, and it swerved into a billboard on the side of the road.
At the same time, two men dressed in black emerged from the Audi. They were holding pistols fitted with silencers.
"Su, we're in trouble!" Edward's face paled. He immediately locked the doors, rolled up all the windows, and said, "They must be after me. You know how it is for us rich folks. We make mortal enemies without even realizing it!"
At that moment, he still hadn't realized the two men in black were likely there to stop Su Xuan from meeting Alice. They had absolutely nothing to do with him.
"Oh, right!"
Seeing the two men closing in, Edward hurriedly unbuckled his seatbelt. He reached under the back seat, pulled out a rectangular case, and said, "I have a Colt submachine gun right here, just for a situation like this!"
To calm his nerves, he muttered to himself, "In my family, all the young men learn to shoot once they come of age. My marksmanship is flawless, heh heh. Those guys outside are in for a nasty surprise. They have no idea who they're messing with!"
He opened the case. Inside was a gun, but it wasn't fully assembled. It was just a collection of scattered parts.
Edward's hands trembled as he tried to assemble the firearm, making his progress painfully slow.
"Let me."
Su Xuan's expression was perfectly calm, as if the current crisis had nothing to do with him. He took the partially assembled weapon from Edward's hands and then...
RATTLE!
In the blink of an eye, Su Xuan had assembled the scattered components into a complete Colt submachine gun and casually tossed it to Edward.
"Su, you're incredible!" Edward clutched the weapon, his voice filled with sincere admiration. He suddenly felt a surge of confidence.
He assumed Su Xuan must have also spent countless hours practicing with firearms; otherwise, his movements couldn't possibly be so slick.
But he had no idea that Su Xuan had memorized an entire global firearms manual. He could assemble not just a submachine gun, but even a sniper rifle capable of killing from a thousand yards away, in a mere instant. This was the superior learning ability granted to Su Xuan by the system's third phase.
"Try not to fire unless you absolutely have to," Su Xuan said suddenly. "Even if this is the land of the free, with shootouts every day... cough, cough."
Before the words had left his mouth, Su Xuan did something that made Edward's heart pound in his chest.
He unlocked the car, pushed the door open, and stepped outside.
"Come with me, or I'll shoot you on the spot!" The man in the lead was momentarily stunned to see Su Xuan exit the car voluntarily, but quickly aimed his weapon at him.
Unfazed, Su Xuan walked steadily toward the man.
The gunman was so intimidated by Su Xuan's domineering aura that he involuntarily took a few steps back, his finger hovering over the trigger.
"One more step and I'll shoot!" the man warned again.
Su Xuan took another step without a shred of hesitation.
The man's hand trembled as he pulled the trigger.
It's over! He's done for! Huddled in the car, Edward cried out in alarm, certain that Su Xuan was about to die. He couldn't help but feel a flash of resentment. We have a gun, too! Couldn't we just hide in the car? Why would he go out and put himself in harm's way?
But then, the unthinkable happened.
The instant the man pulled the trigger, Su Xuan moved. With a subtle sidestep, he dodged the bullet that screamed from the barrel.
"Huh?"
The man in black stared, dumbfounded. His eyes filled with terror, unable to comprehend how anyone could dodge a bullet. He hadn't meant to fire; the immense pressure from Su Xuan had made his hand act on its own. In fact, his employer had explicitly told him not to harm Su Xuan.
Dodging bullets is actually quite simple... Su Xuan thought to himself.
After seeing Qi Li's senior brother dodge a bullet, he had figured out the key. A bullet was incredibly fast. Even with his superhuman senses, dodging it at the last microsecond was impossible. But he could watch his opponent's trigger finger. The moment that finger moved, he would have just enough time to react and execute the dodge. And it had worked perfectly.
BAM!
Wasting no more words, Su Xuan closed the distance in a flash and sent the man flying with a single punch.
The man in black flipped through the air before slamming onto the windshield of his own car. His legs twitched a few times, and then he was still.
The entire sequence—from dodging the bullet to sending the man flying—happened in the blink of an eye. The second man in black was still in shock, his brain unable to process what to do next. He wouldn't get the chance.
Suddenly, Su Xuan's handsome face was right in front of him.
BAM!
The second man in black went flying as well.
Without even checking on the men, Su Xuan returned to the car and turned to the stunned Edward. "Can you still drive?"
"Uh... yes, yes!" Edward stammered, snapping out of his daze and hastily nodding.
He restarted the vehicle, straightened the wheel, and continued down the road, though his hands on the steering wheel were shaking uncontrollably.
He never would have imagined Su Xuan could be so formidable, dispatching two armed men with his bare hands so effortlessly. Was this man even human? He was clearly a superhero!
"Su, can I ask you for a favor?" Edward asked, taking a deep breath.
"What is it?" Su Xuan replied.
"Can you take me as your disciple?" Edward, from his prestigious background, asked with complete seriousness. "I want to acknowledge you as my master. Name your price for the tuition!"
"We can talk about it later," Su Xuan replied dismissively, having no intention of taking on a disciple.
"Master!" Edward said, shamelessly insistent. "Whether you agree or not, you are my master now. I promise I'll do my best not to disappoint you!"
Just as he finished speaking, another Audi burst out from a side road.
Edward, filled with a sudden surge of courage and likely wanting to impress Su Xuan, grabbed the Colt submachine gun with one hand, stuck it out the window, and unleashed a full magazine at the approaching Audi.
"Are you insane?"
The driver of the Audi slammed on his brakes, his face a mask of terror. He quickly grabbed his phone, made a call, and said four words: "Mission has failed."
"Master, how was that? Pretty badass, right?" Edward asked respectfully, glancing at the rearview mirror to confirm he'd dealt with the car.
"Decently badass, I suppose," Su Xuan commented casually, an evaluation Edward savored.
Before long, they arrived in front of a spectacular villa.
Edward, however, drove around to the back gate and placed a call to the villa's butler.
Su Xuan gazed at the back gate and murmured softly, "Finally, we meet."
"Alice."
