"Let's go!"
Looking at the boy crying bitterly, he didn't find it funny at all, just felt inexplicably heartbroken. Zhang Chen smiled and turned to walk away. The boy wiped his tears with his arm and hurriedly followed behind Zhang Chen.
In this unfamiliar world, Zhang Chen didn't know where he should go, nor what he should do. For now, he had two goals: First, study the Qi Blood Dao as mentioned by the boy. Second, to engage with the mysterious in the tribe to see if he could acquire skills from it.
If he could indeed gain skills from the mysterious, that would be ideal.
As the two walked through the jungle, Zhang Chen's Beast Taming sensing skill was activated, and within a radius of five hundred meters, all living creatures were clearly reflected in his mind.
The pair walked aimlessly through the forest for a long time, from the moon's rise until it was about to set.
"Big brother, where are we going?" The boy "Di" carefully asked from behind Zhang Chen.
Zhang Chen shook his head at the question: "I don't know either. Fate will take us where it wants us to go."
As Zhang Chen's words fell, a sudden noise in the forest startled animals into fleeing. Out of the bushes charged a lamb the size of a yellow ox. A spear was stuck in its body as it frantically crashed around, coming straight at Zhang Chen.
"Careful, big brother." The boy "Di" exclaimed in shock when he saw the charging lamb, but before he could finish speaking, the lamb fell still, as if hit by the Body-Stabilizing Technique, standing quietly in front of Zhang Chen.
"Looks like we've got our dinner," Zhang Chen said with a sly smile.
"Leave it to me." The boy volunteered, stepping forward and pulling the spear from the lamb, then said, "I wonder which unlucky tribe member shot this spear into the lamb's butt, causing it to run off."
As he spoke, he drove the spear into the ground, pulled a bronze knife from his sleeve, stepped forward, stabbed it into the lamb's throat, and began skinning it.
But midway through skinning, a sound of footsteps came from afar, and a dozen or so youths aged sixteen or seventeen ran over, their eyes landing on the boy skinning the lamb.
"Shengzi, look at that spear! Isn't it the one you threw?" Someone pointed to the spear stuck in the ground and shouted.
The leader, a youth slightly older than ten, glanced at the spear and then at the boy skinning the lamb: "So it's you, Di. I didn't expect you to still be alive."
"Sheng!"
The boy "Di" stopped his actions, clutching the knife tightly, glaring angrily at the youth opposite, his eyes instantly red.
"Who would have thought, the pride of the tribe, failed the trial and now resorts to stealing other people's prey. You're disgracing the Clan Leader!" Sheng's voice was full of mockery.
"You despicable scoundrel! You deliberately angered the Kui Ox and led it to me, breaking my ribs, and stole my Teeth Beast while I was down! You are shameless!" The boy "Di" was trembling with rage.
"Now you're not only stealing others' prey, but also blaming others for your mistakes." Sheng's words were slow and condescending, as if looking down on an ant.
"Di, though you're the young Clan Leader, don't make baseless accusations. Sheng has successfully condensed his Qi Blood and has become the first prodigy in our tribe. Even as the young Clan Leader, you can't slander others." Someone chimed in from the side.
"That's right. With only three days left in the hunt, and you haven't condensed your Qi Blood yet, you're far behind Sheng."
"Not only did you not hunt the Teeth Beast, but you're hiding here to steal others' prey. Such a young Clan Leader is truly disappointing!"
"Indeed, such an unworthy person cannot lead the tribe into the future."
"In my opinion, Sheng is the real first warrior among the tribe's young generation!"
"Right, right, only under Sheng's leadership can our tribe reach glory!"
"Look at him now; does he have any semblance of a young Clan Leader? He looks more like a dog!"
"..."
The youths gathered around Sheng ridiculed, causing the boy "Di" to tremble with anger, unable to speak.
'Sheng' ignored 'Di's words, instead looking at Zhang Chen with a mocking gaze: "Another outcast from the tribe. Surviving this long in the wild is a miracle."
"What, knowing you'll be cast out of the tribe, you're already finding companions outside?" Sheng looked at Di maliciously, "Capture this man for me, I want him as my slave!"
"Stop! This man is my big brother. How dare you be disrespectful!"
"The trial is not over for three more days! Whether the Qi Blood is ignited or not, is not for you to decide! As long as the trial isn't over, I haven't been cast out, I'm still the young Clan Leader!" Di shouted angrily, regaining his senses.
"Heh, whatever. Two wastes together are still just waste, what future do you have? You'd better pray you ignite your Qi Blood, or your father's position will fall to me. Hope for a miracle to ignite your Qi Blood, or in three days you might not leave this forest. I won't let you live. Oh, and your childhood sweetheart, I'll take care of her then… I'll enjoy her thoroughly! Hahaha!" The youth Sheng wore a smug grin as he led his group away.
