I Collect Skill Fragments in the Demon World

Chapter 155: The Miserable Celestial Demon

In a blink of an eye, as Zhang Chen's mind stirred, he directly marked the Great Freedom Celestial Demon, an invisible chain linking the two.

At this moment, the steel needle was already in front of Zhang Chen, but Zhang Chen was not flustered. A flow of water appeared out of nowhere, turning into ice that froze the steel needle in midair.

Since Zhang Chen was prepared to act, how could he not be ready?

He had long stored at least a ton of water beneath the floor of the room, hidden so that 'Xie Lingyun' didn't notice when entering.

"Hmm? What?"

'Xie Lingyun' looked at the suddenly appearing water that froze his steel needle, stunned, but during this pause, Zhang Chen acted again, his spirit entering the black-and-white world, grasping the chain and pulling it effortlessly, only to see a black lotus being pulled out of Xie Lingyun's body.

"What?" Zhang Chen's spirit returned to his body, his eyes fixed on the lotus, filled with astonishment. He was clearly pulling at the Great Freedom Celestial Demon, so how did he end up pulling out a lotus?

As Zhang Chen was stunned, the Great Freedom Celestial Demon was even more dumbfounded, staring at the chain locked onto himself, then at Zhang Chen, who held the other end of the chain, and Xie Lingyun's body behind him, his eyes full of bewilderment.

The next moment, the Great Freedom Celestial Demon spun around to return to Xie Lingyun's body, but Zhang Chen pulled the chain, dragging the Great Freedom Celestial Demon towards him.

"What the hell is this chain?" The Great Freedom Celestial Demon looked at the chain binding him, utterly bewildered. What was he? A Celestial Demon that comes and goes without a trace?

How could he be ensnared by a chain?

He finally understood why Zhang Chen was so confident, and why he felt uneasy the moment he saw Zhang Chen—it was all because of this chain.

This chain was the culprit!

The Great Freedom Celestial Demon was itself a peculiar anomaly with no offensive power, possessing only the ability to traverse the void and dwell in the mind. Its strength relied entirely on the host's power.

Though weak to the extreme, it had a powerful ability: immortal, dwelling within the hearts of living beings.

Pulled from Xie Lingyun's body, the Great Freedom Celestial Demon's eyes filled with horror: "Damn, how could this be possible? How could there be such a terrifying ability in the world? This is my nemesis!"

He already regarded Zhang Chen highly, but still ended up caught off guard.

He regretted it! So regretted that his guts turned blue. Clearly, if he had given the order, five hundred armored warriors could rush in and mince this kid for the dogs. But he couldn't kick the bad habit of showing off, leading to this misstep.

"I think we can talk." The Great Freedom Celestial Demon looked at Zhang Chen, as gentle as one could be.

"Is she still savable?" Zhang Chen looked at Xie Lingyun.

"Savable! Of course savable! Her soul is merely sealed by me. With a thought, I can remove the seal," said the Great Freedom Celestial Demon.

Zhang Chen looked at the Great Freedom Celestial Demon, who immediately understood and turned to blow air at Xie Lingyun. The next moment, Xie Lingyun's eyelids slowly fluttered open, confusedly looking at the flames before her, seeing Zhang Chen, and the black lotus floating in the void.

That was Xie Lingyun's Celestial Demon; she could naturally see it.

"Wasn't I already possessed by the Celestial Demon and dead? Are you dead too?" Xie Lingyun's big eyes looked at Zhang Chen, filled with confusion.

"You're still alive. I happened to have some means to pull the Celestial Demon from your body. You're saved! If nothing extraordinary happens, you won't be troubled by the Celestial Demon in the future." Zhang Chen's eyes fell on Xie Lingyun, feeling she was different, a subtle change in aura, but couldn't pinpoint exactly how.

"You've noticed she's different, haven't you?" The Great Freedom Celestial Demon turned to look at Zhang Chen.

Hearing this, Zhang Chen's face turned dark: "You left a trick?"

"I didn't leave a trick. I am merely the culmination of her greed, anger, and ignorance. By pulling me out, you extracted all her evil, leaving her purely kind-hearted, a virtuous, genuine good person now," said the Great Freedom Celestial Demon, gazing at Zhang Chen.

"So, what's your point?" Zhang Chen asked.

"She and I are two sides of the same coin; if she lives, I remain immortal. You can't kill me; even if you destroy me, I'll resurrect from her mind. So I think we can talk. What can't be discussed?" The Great Freedom Celestial Demon spoke, turning to Xie Lingyun: "Miss, I didn't mean to harm you. Please forgive me, as I've realized my mistake. I dare not harm anyone again."

Xie Lingyun came to her senses, looking at Zhang Chen, then at the Celestial Demon, and suddenly asked: "Do you truly realize your mistake?"
