Chapter 58: Ring of Nature 1

That is the Tree of Life.

In every Druid sect's headquarters, there is a Tree of Life. They use Secret Techniques to select suitable seeds and slowly nurture them into towering trees, possessing magical powers.

A circle of oak trees surrounds the entire town.

This place looks like a giant garden, with fences not manually made but grown from interweaving vines.

Every house has a front yard, filled with various flowers and plants.

These are medicinal herbs.

Druids are masters of Herbalism; they seldom contact the outside world, occasionally trading Potions for money, as Druids also need to buy some living supplies from the outside.

They live a long-term hermit-like life.

If this time hadn't involved the Unicorn, they probably wouldn't easily take action.

Quite surprising.

Su Ziyu unexpectedly saw some half-grown children here, wearing shabby short robes and running barefoot everywhere. Upon seeing outsiders, they curiously and fearfully hid away.

"These are all orphans."

Adson smiled, took out some candy and handed it to the children, explaining: "We swore to dedicate our lives to nature."

"So most Druids won't get married."

"Every year we adopt some orphans from the outside. If they have Talent, we accept them to join the Ring of Nature; if not, we teach them Herbalism to become doctors for a living."

Very good and loving.

Upon hearing this, Su Ziyu's favorability towards the Druids increased significantly.

"Follow me." Adson led the way in front: "The Ring of Nature has only one guesthouse. The owner is an old Dwarf; he's not very amiable. Don't pay him much attention."

On the way to the guesthouse, Su Ziyu saw an Elf Druid.

The person smiled gently at him, then crouched down to continue tending to their flowers and plants. If an Elf joins the Ring of Nature, it means bidding farewell to their past life — first a Druid, then an Elf.

Humans are the same.

Su Ziyu has seen some Elves in the City of Freedom, but none possessed the peaceful aura of the one in front.

Oak Inn.

As soon as Su Ziyu entered, he smelled tobacco. A bearded Dwarf was sitting on a chair smoking. After glancing at Su Ziyu, he muttered: "Another guy."

"Here."

"Third room upstairs."

He tossed a key over directly, loudly said: "Come down for a meal in a while."

"Your neighbor is a grumpy Elf."

"Don't start a fight with him later."

Adson showed a slight smile, apologizing to Su Ziyu softly: "Don't mind him. He's just like that."

This is an old Dwarf.

His beard is somewhat grizzled.

He looks at least two or three hundred years old, yet still strong, much more than Su Ziyu.

By his feet is a heavy large iron hammer, weighing around seventy to eighty pounds. Noticing Su Ziyu's gaze, the old Dwarf casually picked up the hammer and set it aside.

Upstairs.

Su Ziyu saw an Elf dressed as a Ranger, handsome in appearance but cold in expression, not greeting him. He went straight out.

"That is Mei Gao." Adson mentioned a relatively obscure pronunciation, whispered: "A very famous Elf Ranger."

"He should be invited to help too."

The room is very clean.

No decorations, just window vines like climbing plants.

"Tomorrow I'll take you to meet the elder." Adson smiled: "Rest well first."

"Alright." Su Ziyu nodded.

Soon.

The Druid left.

Su Ziyu sat in his room for a while, felt a bit bored, so he went down to explore.

The Ring of Nature spans a large area.

Some parts seemed closed by thorns; after a brief walk, Su Ziyu returned to the inn.

Dinner was quite sumptuous.

A Human cook prepared them bread, oatmeal, mushroom soup, sausages, fruit, and other foods. The Elf Ranger named Mei Gao was very quiet, merely glanced at Su Ziyu, ate, and went upstairs.

The old Dwarf sat drinking, fiddling with some exquisite cards.

The moment Su Ziyu's gaze was noticed, the old Dwarf raised his head and said: "You look like a Demon Hunter! Want a game of Gwent Card?"

Upon hearing this, Su Ziyu showed an interested expression.

It's said that Gwent Card was originally invented by Dwarves and gradually became popular among humans; the Dwarf's cards are very exquisite, compared to Van Helsing's set, as the difference between a collection and a regular edition.

"Come on." Su Ziyu sat opposite the old Dwarf without hesitation.

The old Dwarf took a sip of wine, excitedly said: "Want to add some stakes? It's said Demon Hunters are good at cards, curious if they're a match for Dwarves!"

"What do you want to bet?" Su Ziyu put down his palm.

"Hehe." The old Dwarf chuckled, looked at Su Ziyu's Meteor at the waist: "You seem like a master. If you lose, help me teach that Elf Ranger a lesson."

"If I lose."

"I'll give you this collection of Gwent Card."

Upon hearing this, Su Ziyu mused: "Alright. Two out of three?"

"Let's go." The old Dwarf said energetically.

Thus.

Half an hour later, Su Ziyu put away the collection set of Gwent Cards, with the old Dwarf opposite him looking annoyed, pulling out several strands of his beard.

"You won?" At this moment, a clear female voice came from behind Su Ziyu.

"Yes." Su Ziyu rose to look at the woman behind.

Vera.

The Tree Spirit Ranger seen during the day seemed just back, eating something and looking curiously at Su Ziyu, hesitated: "You have the scent of the magical essence of nature."

She probably means the Blessing of the Guardian Witch.

"Yes." Su Ziyu didn't explain, just smiled at her and went directly upstairs.

She lived next door.

No words for the night.

Early next morning, Su Ziyu was awakened by the outside noise.

He heard dense footsteps.

Going to the balcony to look at the entrance of the Ring of Nature, Su Ziyu saw ranks of spirited Tree Spirit troops, all wearing clothes made of leaves and green fabrics, equipped with Longbows and Daggers — numbering several hundred, entering the Ring of Nature.

A bearded Druid was welcoming them.

Leading the Tree Spirit was a tall Tree Spirit Queen wearing a light green robe and a delicate laurel crown.

Her aura was quite intimidating, likely the Tree Spirit Queen Adson mentioned.
