The Cockroach-like Girl Is My Beast

Chapter 112: Massage (Bonus Update)

Lin Guang casually pushed the towel towards Vishdair, letting it float gently in the air. He unwrapped the bandage on his right hand and dipped his foot into the hot spring. The gentle warmth surged up from his foot, flowing through his veins and muscles, spreading through his entire body in a comfortable embrace.

Lin Guang exhaled deeply, slowly immersing his body into the warm water, stretching his hands out freely underwater.

Upon entering the water, he could noticeably feel a warm current flowing into his body, nurturing something within.

"So comfortable... I feel like I could just fall asleep."

Vishdair exhaled deeply, lazily stretching with her slightly damp silver hair clinging to her cheeks, as if melting into the hot spring. Her amber eyes slightly squinted, resembling a satisfied cat.

"Indeed."

Lin Guang sighed, a hint of unseen emotion in his voice. Since his parents' accident, he hadn't visited such leisurely places.

"The composition of this hot spring is very complex, containing attributes ether and some unique elements, making it extremely beneficial for healing wounds and rejuvenating the spirit, with immediate effects."

Lin Guang could clearly feel that when the warmth of the spring flowed into his right arm, the pain instantly eased significantly.

This was not a placebo effect.

As a One-Star Spirit Master, he could vaguely perceive his internal status through Spiritual Power. Accompanied by a tingling sensation, the flesh was silently but rapidly healing at the wound site, and even the dull ache in his brain, from yesterday's fight, was instantly relaxed.

The little fox perched on his shoulder also relaxed its body, soaking its fluffy tail in the hot spring, showing a content expression on its face. Blood gathered at its large ears, looking absolutely adorable.

The spring water was warm and gentle, with subtle undulations. Occasionally, tiny bubbles would gently rise, while sporadic breezes would waft over, curling steam into the air, adding a touch of poetic mist to the surroundings.

The scene unfolded like a landscape painting, warm and tranquil, undisturbed by the clamor from the outside world.

Both sat quietly, not speaking, enjoying this rare serenity and leisure, only disturbed by the small ripples spread by the little fox swimming in the spring.

After a while, Lin Guang took a deep breath and, along with the little fox, emerged from the hot spring. He retrieved a clean bathrobe from the Ring of Void to wrap himself in. Despite the gentle components in the spring's ether, it wasn't advisable for humans to soak for too long, and the young fox was no exception.

At the small platform beside the hot spring, Lin Guang sat on a deck chair and retrieved a bottle of ice-cold milk from the Ring of Void. It was also purchased that morning, processed by the Miracle Master Studio, with additives that mitigated and neutralized Fire Attribute Ether.

He drank it in one gulp, feeling refreshed by the cool sensation.

The little fox seemed to recognize it as something good, swimming to the shore and circling anxiously, letting out a few small barks. Lin Guang found it amusing and took out another bottle of ice-cold milk, tilting it and gently feeding it to the fox.

After a short rest, Lin Guang soaked in the hot spring once more, glancing to his right, where Vishdair still appeared lazily at ease, seemingly capable of soaking until dusk. This made him a bit envious of the Spirit Beast's physique.

Golden Mountain Hot Springs lived up to its reputation. After a few hours, Lin Guang felt his right arm had fully recovered. The exhaustion and discomfort from overexerting his Spiritual Power in yesterday's battle were completely restored, leaving him feeling refreshed.

Naturally, this was the same for the little fox. The negative status from its leg injury disappeared from its status frame. Although its neurasthenia wasn't easily cured, its entire spirit was notably relaxed.

"Huh..."

Vishdair stood and stepped out of the hot spring. Water slid off her body in arcs before splashing back into the pool. She grabbed a damp towel nearby, wringing it dry, and casually wrapped it around her body, her cheeks flushed from the heat, resembling a ripe peach, with subtle blue veins visible beneath her fair skin.

"Here you go."

Lin Guang retrieved three bottles of processed iced orange juice from the Ring of Void, handing them over. She quickly drank one after another.

Exhaling deeply, Vishdair grinned and said, "I've leveled up."

Lin Guang was slightly taken aback before returning her smile, "Congratulations."

With her level up, Vishdair reached level 10, becoming a Tier One "Spirit Beast." Though considered a milestone, it was nearly insignificant for someone with Blue Elite Level Potential like her.

"How do you feel?"

"Fantastic!"

Vishdair beamed, lifting her slender, fair arm and clenching her fist, demonstrating the strength to easily shatter rocks: "I wasn't quite convinced before, but I was surprised by how apparent the improvement is after leveling up!"

"For both Spirit Masters and Spirit Beasts, every ten levels is a milestone. This is a characteristic of this system."

Lin Guang slightly tilted his head, gazing at the sky: "The originator of the Spirit Master system is still debated in academic circles, but the Contract Meditation Technique, popularized two hundred years ago, is undoubtedly humanity's greatest invention."

"It compresses the entire system into a tiny seed, one a grade-schooler can comprehend. Yet, upon embarking on the Spirit Master's path, it can decompress entirely without any loss of information."

"How was this achieved?"

"Huh? Discussing such long-winded topics at this time?"

Vishdair glanced at Lin Guang, whose bathrobe was untarnished, his demeanor undisturbed. She tapped her slipper in apparent displeasure: "Even the most eccentric mercenaries in Kazdail wouldn't do such things. Sometimes, I can't believe you're only sixteen; you come off like a centuries-old geezer."

"..."

"Never mind, I should soak again; perhaps I can level up once more."

Lin Guang, amused and helplessly pulled an indignant Vishdair—dragged two or three meters by her enthusiasm—explained, "This hot spring normally has no effect on leveling up."

"Secret Realms with notable leveling effects would sell both of us for a fraction of a ticket. You mainly leveled up yesterday after challenging a level 17 opponent, enjoying a hearty meal, and leveling up afterward was a natural process."

Upon hearing this, Vishdair pouted slightly but refrained from demanding another soak. Instead, she requested more drinks. Lin Guang gently rubbed his Ring of Void, retrieving several bottles of ice juice and a folded gray mat. He moved the table and chairs aside, spreading the mat on the platform.

Unexpectedly, Vishdair, who had nonchalantly wrapped herself in a towel in front of Lin Guang, suddenly shivered nervously, the two red "antennae" on her head snapping straight, as she vigilantly asked, "What are you doing?"

"Can't you tell? I'm preparing to give you a massage."

"Get ready; this time it's full body."

"!!!"

Vishdair's beautiful amber eyes widened, recalling something as she instinctively took a step back.

"What's the matter, scared?" Lin Guang asked, his smile cunning, using a provocation method with great effect.

"... It's not a bad thing, so why would I be afraid?"

She stiffly snorted, kicking off her slippers, stepping onto the mat, her ten jade-like toes and bright red nails contrasting sharply on the gray mat, before lying down entirely, her towel forming an enticing arc.

Yet, Lin Guang only glanced appreciatively before focusing on her shoulders and arms, his gaze turning serious as he activated the Eye of Omniscience and Omnipotence along with the Hand of Full Mastery.

"Ooh!!!"

A short period of suppressed breathing was followed by a suggestive sound echoing suddenly in the vast mountain pass.
