Lis only listened for a moment to Havier's "passionate" speech and lost interest.
After all, it's just the same thing over and over, and he couldn't be bothered to respond.
More importantly, moments ago he had already secretly used Soul Magic to confirm Havier's status.
Havier wasn't under any soul control or consciousness modification spells, and he was quite confident in what he was preaching.
That is to say, he truly believed his "criticism" of the Source of All Magic was correct, and the suggestions he made were genuinely useful for the Source of All Magic and the Pan-Continent Mage Association.
However, unconsciously, Havier forgot some crucial matters that needed attention.
Such as... "reverence"!
Clearly, someone has tampered with Havier, and this method is quite advanced.
If you're not an expert in the relevant domain, you wouldn't be able to see it.
But for Lis, this isn't a difficult problem.
Whoever made him so adept?
But it also indicates that someone indeed has targeted him.
Plus, the opponent's power is considerable; at least Lis could only see someone tampered with Havier, but couldn't find out exactly who.
But there are other ways, nonetheless.
Within the Pan-Continent Mage Association, only a handful have this ability.
Standing still, Lis soon has a Black Cat appear on his shoulder.
A pink little tongue licks its paw, and the Black Cat stretches lazily, looking at Lis and says:
"What do you want me for?"
"I was taking a nap."
"How long has this been happening? Communicate with the association's Magic Intelligent Life, retrieve the records, see if there are similar cases in other parts of the association."
Lis points to Havier in front of him, speaking to the Black Cat.
"Ah, this..."
The Black Cat glances at Havier, briefly searching its database.
A moment later, the Black Cat nods and says:
"This person has been standing in front of the Mage Tower for four days now, preaching his viewpoints, leaving each day at nightfall."
"After observation, the Magic Intelligent Life determined only 3.2 percent of Source of All Magic members agree with Havier's ideas, judged to have no impact on the Source of All Magic, so no measures were taken to avoid being targeted by other schools."
"According to intelligence from association's Magic Intelligent Life, similar situations to Havier do not exist in cities belonging to the Pan-Continent Mage Association."
"However, there's been a 16 percent rise in discussions and exchanges concerning the Source of All Magic across various locations; possibly guided by others, it's observed in twelve instances, all located in Jonas City."
"I understand now."
Lis listens to the Black Cat's data, nodding slightly.
These intelligence are collected by Magic Intelligent Life from the Pan-Continent Mage Association, especially pertaining to monitoring association-related public discourse.
Lis only knew of this intelligence after receiving authorization from the Third Speaker.
This intelligence is only accessible by the three Speakers of the association; other Legendary Members aren't even aware of its existence.
Previously, Lis had not paid attention to these intelligence.
After all, even with the association's Magic Intelligent Life detection, it wasn't much use to those Legendary Members.
And intelligence below Legend held little significance for Lis.
However, now it has come in handy.
Obviously, with this Source of All Magic-related public opinion storm, someone has secretly meddled.
Still, the implications of this are not significant.
So surely, there's more to their game...
As Lis pondered, the crowd surged into another stir.
...
"Cole, what are you up to?"
Nelson abruptly pulls Cole, who is trying to charge forward, curious.
Yor, standing nearby, is also a bit surprised.
The three were just about to head to the Mage Tower's Library to continue reading unfinished Magic Books.
Since beginning their cooperation, the three have formed a team to act together.
Passing by here, they heard Havier continuing his "lecture."
With just one listen, the three understood what Havier was trying to convey.
Cole couldn't hold back any longer and pushed his way into the crowd proactively.
"Naturally, I want to rebut this guy!"
"This fellow is shameless. I recall he is also a member of our school and have seen him in the Library."
"Yet now, here he is slandering the teacher, absolutely intolerable!"
Cole said, somewhat indignantly.
"Don't rush, Cole."
Haral gently holds Cole's hand, looking somewhat worried.
For some reason, growing up in the Tower of Burning Embers, she always felt something was amiss.
"No need for you to go... I'll go with you!"
Nelson originally wanted to hold Cole back from getting involved in this, but upon a second thought, chose not to stop him.
For Cole, this wasn't entirely a bad thing.
Being a disciple under Lord Li Si, perhaps it's indeed time for him to step forward.
Without Nelson's interference, Cole swiftly pushes through the crowd, arriving in front of Havier.
Seeing Havier continuing his rhetoric, Cole speaks loudly:
"Havier, I remember you."
"Are you not also a member of the Source of All Magic? Why are you slandering Lord Li Si and the Source of All Magic here?"
"Have you wasted all those books in the Library?"
"No! I'm merely expressing some opinion and ideas, certainly not intending to slander Lord Li Si."
Originally here getting interrupted mid-speech by someone recognizing him, Havier was a bit displeased.
