Chapter 604: Ivetta and Inessa II

"I want to see him," Inessa said, still unable to contain her emotions after crying for a long time. "I want to see my son."

"Calm down, dear sister, you will see him soon," Ivette replied, wiping away the tears that came out when she looked at her sister, sharing her feelings.

"Especially since you've already met him recently," Ivette added with a smile.

"Huh? When?" — Inessa was surprised.

"Have you already forgotten who brought you here?" asked Ivette.

Inessa's eyes widened in surprise.

"This is… Was it him?" she couldn't believe she hadn't recognized this young man as her own son.

"Yes, it was him," Ivette confirmed. "But don't worry so much, he was wearing a mask that hid his true appearance. Not only did you not find out, but no one would have found out if he hadn't revealed his identity himself."

Inessa was amazed by this news, as well as the realization that her son had become an Awakened One. However, nothing could overshadow her joy that her son, whom she thought was dead, was alive.

She couldn't wait to see what he had become. At the same time, she was overcome with fear that her son would not recognize her as his mother. After all, it had been more than twenty years since she had given birth to him, and since then they had had no contact with each other.

"Sister, while we're waiting for Idan to return, tell me what happened then?" asked Ivette, eager to find out from Inessa's mouth what really made her and Adrian disappear.

Saddened by the fact that she could not see her son, Inessa began to go over in her memory the events that had happened more than twenty years ago.

"My memories of that day are very hazy," she began. "I remember Adrian and I were walking somewhere, and the next thing I remember, they were taking me to the hospital."

Inessa's face was slightly distorted. These memories were not pleasant, and for a long time she tried to forget about them. Over time, she had partially succeeded, but now she needed to resurrect them in her memory in order to tell her sister.

"When I came to my senses, I found that I was in a hospital room," Inessa said, trembling slightly. "I remember how my whole body hurt. My thoughts were stalled, and I couldn't figure out what was going on.

It wasn't until sometime later that I realized that I no longer had a big belly, but in its place was a large wound and stitches from a cesarean section."

Inessa instinctively clutched her stomach, where there was still a scar under her clothes.

"I started to panic and ask where my child was. At that moment, Adrian and several doctors entered the room."

"And they... then informed me that my child... my son... was stillborn and that they couldn't save him," tears welled up in Inessa's eyes as she uttered these words. But there was also a note of hatred on her face when she realized that she had been lied to back then.

"Adrian himself told me with a sad face that our son was stillborn," her voice trembled with emotion.

"I don't really remember what happened next. At that time, I felt devastated, and even thought about suicide," Inessa confessed. "But I remember well how Adrian, as before, suggested that I fake our death and run away together."

"Back then, I was kind of devastated, and I automatically agreed to everything he offered," Inessa said with a touch of irony. "Adrian told me that he hated his family and their control, and claimed that his family would not allow him to marry me. He asked if I was ready to run away with him if he decided to leave his family."

Inessa recalled one of those conversations they had even before she found out about her pregnancy.

"Then I, naive and in love, said that I would follow him wherever he went.

And soon after that conversation, I found out that I was pregnant.

Adrian then demanded that I have an abortion. But after thinking it over carefully, I refused and decided to keep the child."

Remembering this moment, Inessa realized that even then Adrian did not want this child.

"Adrian took advantage of his connections and faked our deaths, and we disappeared," she continued after a short pause, reanalyzing what had happened.

"We often moved from place to place, and it took me a long time to come to my senses.

Our relationship started to deteriorate over time, and we often fought, but we still stuck together," Inessa sighed.

"And a few years later, I found your social media account and saw your photos," Inessa looked at her sister.

"There I saw what a beautiful little girl little Irene had grown up to be," she recalled with a smile. "Then I regretted that I followed Adrian and couldn't be next to you and knead her chubby cheeks."

Ivette smiled too, remembering how sweet Irene was as a child.

"And among those photos, I also saw him. A picture of a little boy who got into the frame," Inessa said with a tremor in her voice.

"He immediately seemed so familiar and close to me, and something inside me then said that this was my son," Inessa confessed. "But when I showed it to Adrian, he said it was your son, and that you got pregnant almost immediately after you gave birth to Irene, and that it was all a figment of my imagination."

"Things weren't going well. My life was devoid of bright colors until I found out that I was pregnant again, and then I gave birth to Ina," Inessa said with a smile. "She became a ray of hope for me and someone who filled my life with new meaning.

Since her arrival, I have devoted myself entirely to her upbringing. And Adrian also changed with her birth, and our relationship became better."

Ivette was pleasantly surprised to learn that her sister has another child besides Idan, and was happy about it.

Inessa briefly immersed herself in pleasant memories of how she and Adrian and Ina were a happy family. Then she continued her story.

"Ina's birth changed our lives for the better, but despite that, we still moved around a lot."

"However, everything changed when the Catastrophe occurred and Adrian died," Inessa said sadly, shocking Ivette with this confession.

This made Ivette think of her husband Adam, who is also presumed dead since that day.

Remembering that day, the two sisters fell into silence, longingly remembering their husbands.
