"Nice motherfucker! I'm a pig if I can't end you in one move now." Grey gritted his teeth in fury, slowly standing upright, his hand clutching his forehead as the wounds kept sizzling, aura rushing in through the tears of the skin.
The red circle in his pupil glowed bright. Two red dagger like horns jutted put of his temple and his canines grew longer. The demonic bloodline in his veins had activated, showing his true form out.
His aura flared, getting condense into blood like form. A whirlpool of red aura now surrounded him. For the first time, the centipede stumbled, its body shaking in fear as the chitinous plates clattered.
"Gigantification." A cold, indifferent whisper escaped Grey's lips.
The skin in his right arm stretched taut, the veins bulged, his half-healed wounds burst open again as his arm and fist ballooned, painted red from his own blood.
Stretching his arm back, he bent his knees. The aura on his heels flared as the floor beneath cracked into webs. With an impossible force, he zoomed away, vanishing into a red trail.
"One punch kill."
Grey appeared in front of the rushing centipede, only a few meters separating the two of them.
He drove his colossal fist forward, his red aura pulsating violently around his fist as the air crackled, releasing booming noises.
Before his punch could even touch the centipede's body, the pressure alone cracked his chitinous body, the hundreds of legs cracked and blasted away.
BOOOOMM!! CRACKKK!!
The fist struck right at the chest; the centipede couldn't react at all. A circular wave spread from the point of impact. Its body swelled and ballooned before finally bursting.
Blood sprawled like rivers. Its body blasted into smithereens. Not even leaving a single fiber of muscle, the terrifying red aura blessed with solarian blood burned it into nothing.
The centipede turned into dust, vanishing from that dark space as if it never existed. Grey's punch didn't even let it screech one final time.
It crumbled into dust, the beast core and a skill stone fell on the floor with a clink.
Grey landed with a thud. With his knees held, waist bent, he stood panting, his right arm shrinking rapidly, the power receding, restored to its original size with a trail of steam rising.
"Every…fucking…time. I can't…believe…its an…A rank!" He inhaled deep gulps of air, trying to bring his breathing back to normal again.
Collecting himself after a few seconds, Grey stood up straight. He stepped forward and picked the stones up, checking the skill.
[Greater fireball
An AOE skill dealing intense heat and fire damage. Release a massive sphere of intense flame causing widespread damage. A greater variant of fireball having high mana requirement]
"No use for me. Guess I'll be selling it to Elara." He put both the stones in the inventory and started moving towards the doors to the hidden room.
With both his palms on the doors, Grey pushed forward.
With the sound of stones grating against each other, the double doors opened inwards, slowly revealing the hidden room on the other side.
Everything was almost the same as he had seen the first time. The room was bright with intense light. The rock stoup rested upon a cylindrical pillar at the center of the chamber. Inside it was a sparkling bright water. The glowing bright water was falling in drops from the stalactite right above the stoup, collecting into it up to the brim.
The setup remained almost identical, except the color of the bright light. Instead of luminous white, it had a crimson tint. The color of the water had turned into pale crimson.
Grey moved inside. when he reached near the stoup, he activated his eyes of revelation.
[The Corrupted Sanguine Wellspring:
the energy of the sunlight that had condensed into a liquid dripping from the stalactite of the grotto, has now been corrupted with the nightmare stone place inside the stoup. It holds the energy of pure nightmare having changed into this divine nectar of darkness. It now holds the power to awaken the bloodline of the Nemorion, the royal bloodline of the eclipse dwellers.]
"So these motherfuckers really were planning all this shit." Grey clicked his tongue. He then peeked inside the water.
There really was a dark black stone placed below on the hemispherical bottom of the stoup.
He dipped his fingers inside the water and pulled the nightmare stone out. It was ice cold to touch, freezing his palm, dulling his senses.
Grey quickly dumped it inside his inventory, any more, and his palm and fingers would have frozen solid.
"What do I do with this water now?" though he pulled the nightmare stone out, the water in the stoup was still corrupted.
It needed to be removed so that he could place the dawn stone inside. But after wrecking his brain for some time, no concrete solution came out. If he knew telekinesis, it would have been an effortless job, but didn't have such a skill.
He though of soaking the water with a piece of cloth and throw the water out, but a voice inside him was asking him not to waste this water. Though it wasn't of use to maybe anyone other then a few researchers, he still felt like saving it for later.
Just then, a thought occurred to him. Wishing to test his theory, Grey aimed his palm towards the water and wished for it to move inside his inventory.
BLUB! BLUB!
The corrupted Sanguine water slowly started floating up into spheres, and vanished into his inventory. Within a few seconds, all of it moved inside his inventory, not a single drop being spared.
As the water disappeared inside the inventory, the crimson light vanished from the room too.
"Haha! Bingo!" Grey jumped up in excitement. The system came to his rescue again.
Grey checked his inventory. Almost twenty boxes of spaces were now taken up by the water.
Without waiting further, he then pulled the dawn stone out and placed it inside the basin of the stoup. Sizzling noises came as steam rose out.
The traces of the corrupted water that was left, was evaporated by the dawn stone. All the corruption from the divine stoup was extinguished into nothing.
After the dawn stone was placed inside, a drop of water fell on it from the stalactite above.
The single drop was like a spell of magic, turning the dawn stone into liquid. Almost instantly the stoup was now filled to the brim with the divine water again.
[The Sanguine Wellspring of Dawn:
The energy of the sunlight has condensed into a liquid dripping from the stalactite of the grotto, accumulating within this divine stoup. After the cleaning of the corruption, this now holds the energy of pure sunlight, the essence of dawn, having changed into this divine nectar. One handful can quench an eternal thirst and awaken the bloodline of the Solarian]
"All done!" A wide smile spread on Grey's face, seeing the information of the sanguine wellspring.
He had done everything he could, all that was needed now, was to wait.
*****
Outside the boss room, Blaze's eyes opened abruptly. The first thing he saw was Lenore and the other two, a few meters away from the doors, standing still, their eyes gazing straight.
There were loud noises coming from inside the boss room. Sometimes they were booming noises, sometimes it was a crash and sometimes, loud screeching, painful noises grated their ears.
It had been going on for some time. They didn't know what to do. With Blaze still cultivating, they didn't disturb him, and no one dared to venture inside without him.
Just when the noises started getting intense further, Blaze joined them. Their faces twisted with confusion, fear and a sense of curiosity.
Suddenly, the noises died down abruptly. The insides went still again. All four of them looked at each other, the sense of confusion and curiosity rising to the peak.
"W-What could be going on inside?" Aeron asked, a trace of fear lingering in his voice.
"Seems like sounds of battle." Zenon said.
"It definitely is." Lenore nodded in support. "I saw a figure just for an instance, moving inside, when the doors had opened that time."
All three of them turned towards her, their brows raised as if asking, why the hell didn't she tell them earlier since they saw nothing.
"My eyes are a bit special you see." She gave a playful smile at them as she cleared it up.
"What should we do then? S-Should we check?" Aeron asked hesitantly.
"We have to." Zenon replied with his stoic face.
"He's right. We came this far, we can't return at the last step because of fear and uncertainty." Blaze nodded. "We'll turn around and run the moment something impossible to defeat appears inside." He added.
"What are you waiting for then. Let's not be a wuss all! Charge forward!" Lenore bellowed as she hopped towards the doors.
Blaze chuckled, while the other two shook their heads. Her playful attitude calmed the tense mood.
Steeling their minds they too followed after her, stepping closer towards the doors.
