That evening, after delivering the "rub and caress" service to his four wives, Dylan went into his room. He saw Aaron already sleeping soundly in bed. He lay down next to Aaron, staring at the ceiling. After a while,
[Sir, they are approaching.]
"Yes, I know. Let's go, KATS," Dylan said.
[Understood, sir.]
Dylan got up again and slipped out of bed. He immediately became invisible and opened his door. He walked out, and "Klek," the door next to him opened. Megan stepped out of her room, both of her hands already transformed into swords. Megan turned, looked in Dylan's direction though he was invisible, and nodded. Dylan returned the nod. Both immediately walked to the cabin door. Megan opened it.
"Waaaaaa,"
Two teenagers, who looked to be about Aaron and Clara's age, fell backward upon seeing Megan open the door, their faces showing extreme shock. Dylan looked at them both. One was a girl with blonde hair, and the other was a very skinny boy. But upon closer inspection, their bodies were covered in welts and bruises, and there were marks from being bound on their arms and legs. Dylan immediately told Megan to pull them inside.
Megan nodded. She quickly grabbed both of them and brought them into the cabin. After the door was closed again, Dylan reappeared and made them almost scream. Naturally, Dylan caught their mouths and covered them.
"Don't be afraid and don't scream. Who are you? Answer after I open my hands," Dylan said softly.
They both nodded, even though their eyes were wide, staring at Dylan in front of them. Finally, Dylan removed his hands, freeing their mouths.
"I'm... I'm sorry, but... we need help. My name is Finn," the young man said.
"We... I... just want to go home. My name is Johana... or Hana," the girl added.
"Ok, what happened to you?" Dylan replied, sitting down in front of them with Megan standing behind him.
Finn and Hana immediately explained that they had actually been kidnapped and were being planned to be sold as laborers in another city or country. Besides them, there were 7 other people with them at the camp across the lake.
"Hmm... do you know who kidnapped you?" Dylan asked.
Finn and Hana shook their heads. They then said they had been at the camp for a month, and many others had been there even longer. Finn explained that the people running the place looked like camp supervisors and the park rangers who guarded the camp. Upon hearing this, Dylan immediately thought,
"Hmm... rangers, huh. Are all the rangers here involved?" Dylan asked.
"No, just some of them. They are stationed at the camp across here," Finn replied.
"No wonder they came over by boat earlier, crossing the lake. They must have seen Aaron, Clara, Fiona, and Iris playing alone, but when Megan came out to accompany them, those two immediately backed off," Dylan thought in his head.
[It seems that is indeed the case, sir.]
Dylan looked back at Finn and Hana. He saw that their clothes looked wet and dirty.
"How did you get here?" Dylan asked.
"Um... we crossed using a little boat, Big Brother," Hana replied.
"Oh? Where is the boat now?" Dylan asked.
"In the bushes right by the edge of the lake," Finn replied.
"Okay," Dylan immediately stood up and turned to look at Megan. "Megan, guard things here. If anyone suspicious comes, just act immediately, and please look after them for a bit," Dylan said.
"Where are you going, Master?" Megan asked.
"Outside. I'm sorry, but Finn and Hana were allowed to escape to gain access to our place. They've already come over earlier. I'm going to take care of them," Dylan replied.
"Be careful, Master," Megan replied.
Dylan turned to look at Finn and Hana. "You two wait here, okay?" Dylan said with a smile.
"Yes, Big Brother," Finn and Hana replied haltingly.
Dylan immediately walked out and pulled up his hood. He disappeared, then the door opened by itself and closed again, startling Finn and Hana. Then, trembling, they looked over at Megan, who stood there without expression, clearly not human but a frightening puppet. Immediately, the two teens moved closer together, embracing with trembling bodies and pounding hearts.
"Finn... they... they aren't bad people, right? We didn't just walk into a lair of weird creatures, did we?" Hana whispered.
"I don't... know. I don't understand either... we can only hope not... and if we did... what choice do we have?" Finn replied, resigned.
Meanwhile, outside the cabin, Dylan walked casually toward the dock and the edge of the lake. His prediction was correct; he saw a motorboat that looked exactly like the one he had seen earlier in the day. Then he turned toward the bushes and heard a sound coming from there. He immediately approached the bushes and casually jumped in. He saw four people wearing dark clothing squatting and observing his cabin. One of them was wearing the same park ranger uniform as earlier.
"See, they deliberately let Finn and Hana go. Now they're watching our cabin and waiting for the lights to go out before making their move," Dylan muttered in his head.
[That is absolutely correct, sir.]
"Megan, please turn off the lights inside the cabin after I give the signal," Dylan muttered in his head.
"Understood, Master," Megan replied in Dylan's head.
"I think re-enacting a horror movie scene here would be interesting. The location is perfect," Dylan muttered in his head, smiling.
[I understand, sir.]
"Get ready, KATS," Dylan replied.
[Always ready, sir.]
Dylan immediately used his Masquerade skill to change himself into a large, sadistic serial killer wearing a mask of human skin and carrying a chainsaw. Then he used his Body Double skill and instantly vanished. He then touched the shoulder of his body double, using his Masquerade skill to transform his clone into a large, sadistic serial killer wearing a hockey mask and carrying a long machete.
"Okay, we're ready. Turn them off, Megan," Dylan muttered in his head, smiling.
"Understood, Master," Megan replied in Dylan's head.
The lights inside the cabin went out. The four large men, who looked to be around 30 years old, began to crawl through the bushes toward the cabin. They emerged from the bushes right next to the cabin, then ran past the outdoor dining table and the barbecue grill, pressing themselves against the side of the cabin. Dylan and his body double split up and took positions on the right and left sides of the cabin. The men pressed against the cabin wall started to move, two toward the front of the cabin and two toward the back.
But as the two men heading toward the front and the entrance peeked around the corner, "Vrooooong," the savage sound of a chainsaw suddenly roared. A figure—a sadistic serial killer wearing a human-skin mask, large, and dressed in blood-soaked denim coveralls, looking like a butcher complete with rubber gloves—came out to greet the two men.
"Huh... wha... what?" a man stammered, pulling out his pistol.
"Graaaaaaah," the killer raised his chainsaw and attacked forward.
"Blam... blam," the man shot him. The killer stopped moving. Slowly, he looked down at his chest where he'd been shot, then he looked up again at the man, whose face was ghostly white. "Graaaaaah," he immediately raised his chainsaw again.
"Waaaaaa,"
The two men immediately took off running back into the bushes. Meanwhile, at the back, two other men were seen running back into the bushes, followed by a sadistic serial killer dressed like a filthy, blood-soaked sanitation worker, large, wearing boots and carrying a machete, but what made the two men run was the killer's bizarre head and hockey mask. The two killers calmly walked toward the men who had jumped back into the bushes.
The men burst out of the bushes, ran to the dock, jumped into their motorboat, and took off. Dylan and his body double, disguised as sadistic serial killers, watched the motorboat speed away.
"Okay, KATS, track them all the way to the camp across the lake. Now we're going to pay them a visit in this getup," Dylan muttered in his head.
[Agreed, and with pleasure, sir.]
They walked toward the small boat brought by Finn and Hana and pulled it into the lake. Once aboard, the boat started moving on its own like a motorboat, even though it didn't have an engine. After a moment, Dylan and his body double arrived on the opposite side of the lake. They could see the men they had just scared off talking to two men dressed as park rangers in front of the camp's fence.
They were clearly recounting what they had just experienced to the two rangers. Dylan recognized one of the rangers standing in front of the camp gate.
"Huh... it's true. That's the one who came to our dock this afternoon. His intentions are now clear," Dylan muttered.
[Absolutely right, sir. Now they are cornered.]
"Yep, let's go, KATS. Let's surprise them. Get the barrier ready just like before," Dylan replied.
[Understood, sir.]
Dylan touched the shoulder of his body double and disappeared. "Krosak," all the men in front of the camp fence turned toward the bushes upon hearing the sound of the undergrowth moving, their faces anxious and their hands gripping their weapons.
