Angle's Arrogance? My Pact with the Succubus Queen!

Chapter 108: The Military Committee's Award!

When Logan found out that the acting chairman was also involved, his face turned cold.

According to Old Nelson's list, about a quarter of the council members had taken part in the persecution of Bell Major.

"Hmph, you want me to go against the whole council, huh?" Logan clenched the list tightly until it turned into scraps in his hand. He finally let out a heavy breath, "Acting chairman, top-tier 5-star familiar tamer of the federation — we'll see who wins."

With that, Logan directly activated Dual-Beast Possession and smashed Old Nelson's head with one punch.

The next morning, in the square of Saint Heart City.

Logan dressed up as a female model and walked straight into the men's restroom, where he met Natalia.

After seeing the strange look in Natalia's eyes, Logan shrugged and said: "Good morning!"

Natalia first gave him a cold look, then pulled out a big banana from her pants and threw it at Logan's chest.

"What did you do to Sawako and Yelena?" Natalia asked, while putting on her own jacket and changing back into her girl form.

Logan took the jacket and ripped off his mask, surprised. "They came to my room last night?"

"Of course they did!" Natalia said angrily. "As soon as they walked in, they touched my banana, and I knocked them out."

Pfft!

Logan laughed when he heard Natalia's story. "I really feel for you."

Natalia gave Logan a cold look and hit him hard on the arm. "Be careful, or I'll have you for sure!"

Logan just nodded silently.

Now, he and Natalia were in the same boat.

After all, Old Nelson had already died in their joint effort last night.

If people found out what the two of them had done, they probably wouldn't have a choice but to run into the lost world.

Then, Logan explained what had happened that night to Natalia.

When Natalia heard about the list of killers left by Old Nelson, her relaxed face suddenly tightened. "No wonder, they messed me up so badly back then."

"Torment you?" Logan heard the words and gave her a curious look. "Did the council do something to you too? You're the City Lord now, right?"

Natalia, tired of his endless questions, kicked Logan in the leg. "I'll tell you when you need to know. Right now, your job is to go to the City Lord's Office. Garen City Lord and Philip General are waiting for you."

Logan knew there was no time to waste, so he dropped the question and headed straight for the City Lord's Office.

Inside the hall of the City Lord's Office, Garen City Lord, Philip General, and another old man with golden hair stood together, greeting Logan.

As soon as they met, Garen City Lord warmly introduced the golden-haired man. "This is Darwin General, the current chairman of the Military Committee."

"Kid, I read your report. You did great!" Darwin patted Logan on the shoulder and gave him a warm compliment.

Philip General, standing nearby, cleared his throat and led everyone into the meeting room.

As soon as he sat down, Garen City Lord got straight to the point and offered Logan a job.

"Be a acting lieutenant colonel in the Saint Heart City Guard?" Logan looked at the letter in his hand, looking a bit strange.

According to federal rules, to get the rank of lieutenant, you had to go through proper military school, pass strict trials, and take part in at least ten C-level battles as a regular soldier.

To become an acting lieutenant colonel, a lieutenant needs to take part in five B-level campaigns and three A-level campaigns, and earn enough military honors. Only then can they be promoted step by step from first lieutenant to captain, and finally to acting lieutenant colonel.

Hiring Logan directly as a acting lieutenant colonel was a complete first in the whole federation.

Darwin General noticed Logan's hesitation and smiled, handing him another letter. This one said "Federation Military University" on it.

"Be a field survival instructor at the Federation Military University?" Logan looked at Darwin, then at Garen City Lord. He thought the two of them had gone crazy.

He was still a high school student in the Genius Training Camp. He hadn't even taken the familiar tamer entrance exam yet.

But now, you two are offering me a job before I even finish training? And you want me to teach at a university?

What if I meet my high school classmates at the university? Just thinking about it makes me feel awkward.

Philip General laughed and took a sip of his tea. "Logan, don't refuse right away. These two job offers won't take effect until after you finish the Genius Training Camp."

Garen City Lord added, "Logan, your strength will definitely lead you to challenge the supernova after you graduate from the Genius Training Camp. Once you succeed, you won't have time to go to college."

Darwin General, who was sitting quietly, nodded. "Exactly. You can go in and out of beast tides on your own, saving so many people. Going to school with regular students would be unfair — it might even hurt their mental health."

Logan listened as the three of them talked back and forth, and he already understood what they were really thinking. "So, you're trying to steal me?"

Garen City Lord and Darwin General exchanged a glance and grinned. "Who else is as close to you as we are? We just want to take a little advantage."

Logan just laughed and shook his head, then suddenly became serious. "I refuse."

"Why?" Garen City Lord and Darwin General looked surprised. They didn't understand why Logan would say no.

According to the situation, once the job offers took effect, Logan would immediately become a rising star in the military and political world of the federation.

How many people would try to get close to him, try to win him over, or even join him?

But Logan had just refused without thinking twice.

"Is it because of Bell?" Philip General stared at Logan, his eyes showing a little admiration. "You think the military owes Bell an explanation, so you don't want to get too close to the military?"

"Something like that," Logan didn't hide it. "I feel sorry that the military didn't protect its own leaders well. I don't want to take any position under such a system — not even as a teacher."

Darwin didn't expect Logan to be so direct, and his face fell.

But he quickly changed his expression, looking at Philip with a knowing look. "Just like I thought, this kid's attitude is right up my alley."

Then Darwin stepped forward and changed his tone. "Kid, want to take revenge for Bell?"

Logan looked at the old man in front of him, surprised by his sudden change. "What do you want me to do?"

Darwin didn't say much. He pulled out another envelope from his pocket and handed it to Logan. "Build your own power. We'll support you when it's necessary. Only when you're strong can you stand up against other forces in the federation."

Logan took the envelope. Inside was a land deed, a house deed, and an old red flower emblem.

At that moment, Philip General walked up to Darwin and smiled. "This was the first guild formed by the first chairman before the human federation was established. It was called the 'Red Flower Guild.' It really brings back memories, doesn't it?"

Garen City Lord picked up the land deed and house deed, and laughed. "According to federal rules, whoever takes back land from the lost world gets to own it. Well, we don't need this land anyway. We'll give it to you."

Logan took the documents and looked confused. This was too valuable.

But Natalia didn't think so. She confidently took the papers and put them away, then said coldly, "This is their way of showing loyalty. Take it. Now we can get down to real business."

Garen City Lord pulled at his mouth. He hadn't expected Natalia and Logan to be so close.

Then, Garen City Lord and Darwin General explained their plan.

It turned out that Bell Major's death had angered a lot of high-ranking military committee members.

Originally, after the chairman disappeared, the military committee had stayed out of political affairs.

But Bell Major's suffering made the leaders wake up.

They wanted the parliament to pay, but didn't want to get their hands dirty, worried about damaging the military's neutral image.

So, they decided to support an agent who was against the parliament — a new organization, the fourth major power, second only to the parliament, the military committee, and the judgment court.

"Logan," Garen City Lord looked at him seriously, "the parliament needs another force to balance it."

"So, we hope you'll take on the role of the [Red Flower Guild] and investigate the illegal actions of federal officials and nobles, and expose their crimes."

At this, Logan stopped himself from speaking. He had wanted to refuse at first.

Even though the land and house were valuable, they were just a burden to him.

But if he could get the power to monitor officials and nobles, it would make things much easier when dealing with the parliament.

Thinking this through, he immediately said, "I won't let any of you down."

Garen City Lord, Darwin General, and Philip General looked at each other and all smiled.

From that moment on, the deal was settled.

Logan needed to take care of his own territory and build up the Red Flower Guild.

Garen City Lord, Philip General, and Darwin General would propose the creation of a fourth power branch — the Office of Oversight — in the federation at the right time.

But just as everyone was looking forward to the bright future of the new office, Natalia suddenly raised her white hand and placed it in front of Darwin General. "General," she said, "we can work, but don't just promise us big dreams. Give us real support, okay?"

Darwin General turned a little red when she said that.

After all, it was Logan who was doing the real work. They were just talking.

To ease Logan's worries, Darwin and Philip General exchanged a look, then said, "Logan, Bell's old soldiers have already left the army. Why don't you take them in?"
