"W-What… dammit… I'm so weak now," my daughter winced, slicing the blade from my hand, drawing just a bit of blood before my palm closed right back up. "O-Okay, maybe let me get an attack of first."
"Then don't use a skill that will sacrifice so much mana or stamina. Try everything out on me, but make sure to actually have the energy and mana to do everything… if that makes sense."
Ada almost seemed to growl as I backed away, allowing her to openly slash at me with her blade. So, I immediately retaliated by redirecting the momentum of the blade and then slashing right back at her.
She just barely managed to get the blade between her chin and my blade, blocking it but sending a forceful shockwave down the blade and handle. Her hands visibly shook, and I grimaced at the thought of such a shockwave numbing my hands.
"Come on, honey. Pick up the speed," I smiled, slashing at her again and just barely missing her intentionally. I wanted her to learn that she could no longer rely on just talent and overpowered skills but also the basics… just like what she spoke of.
We both split apart, my daughter already huffing and puffing just as the match started. But, it wasn't physical exhaustion that caused her to gasp for air, but mental exhaustion. The intense concentration needed to deflect and barely dodge my skills was insanely high, meaning she needed to pump her brain to maximum gear.
"Tch… can't you tone your power down a bit?" My daughter snarled as if angry at me for not holding back, but despite what she said, I was, in fact holding back. And to be honest, if I had gone all out from the beginning, she would have been dead.
"Are you ready for the next attack?" I smiled, slowly walking towards her. She took a few nervous steps back before planting her foot firmly on the ground. She wanted to face me head with no nerves. Although, that was easier said than done.
"What's wrong? Cold feet?"
My daughter was frozen in place, unable to move as heavy pressure weighed down on her. She attempted to open her mouth, but that jaw of hers was instantly shut, nearly chomping down onto her flailing tongue.
Her pupils shivered in place as I got closer and closer to her. She noticed the purple magic circle in my hand and suddenly realized what was happening. And by gritting those pearly whites of hers, she was finally able to take a step forward.
"I know you can do better than that," I smirked, suddenly releasing [Gravity Press], sending her flying forward and onto her face, where she immediately ate dirt. As she grumbled slightly, I picked her up by the back of her shirt and lifted her to her feet.
"Come on. Do better than that," I muttered, going back to my starting position, all while my daughter continued to grumble. Her eyes were focused on me, ready to slash at any given moment. It was amusing seeing her so intent on something, and just from the look of it, I could see her past warrior self ready to shine through.
I was slowly getting excited…
"Alright. How about this time you get the first move," I smiled, taunting her by waving my fingers back and forth. She immediately fell for it and dashed towards me, her sword sheathed by her side, intent on pulling off the same move as the prince.
My heart pumped with adrenaline, filling me with an excitement I hadn't felt in a while. But before I could lose myself in the addictive hormone, I calmed my breathing down and ducked, dodging the first slash.
She had stopped instantly in front of me, still carrying the weight of the momentum forward whilst using her blade at the same time. She slashed sideways, allowing me to duck out of the way, but as I heard the whistle of an intense and crazy long breath, I noticed the blade had turned upside down and was slashing back toward me.
My daughter's face was filled with concentration as she swung down as hard as she could, aiming to split me in half. It was as if a god of death was looming over my shoulder, gripping my existence so tightly that I had a bit of trouble breathing.
SHING… BOOM
Just barely, her sword missed me as I rolled to the side, her sword immediately striking the rocky ground beneath. It exploded like a mine, sending chunks of the training arena flying everywhere, including me.
I quickly caught the flying chunks but then dodged out of the way of yet another attack flying right for the nape of my neck. She was only aiming for instant kill spots, not even wasting a single second to hesitation.
"Okay… calm down," I muttered, slipping behind her at my full speed and grabbing both of her wrists, and placing my chin on the top of her head.
Just by looking at her face, it was clear she was getting angry. Her breathing also reflected her agitated state as she heaved and huffed with an almost red cloud coming from her mouth. So, I took this chance to immediately calm her down with a few consoling words.
Her grip on the handle of the sword was so strong that I had a hard time peeling it off, but after whispering a few sweet words into her left ear, she slowly let go. Her wrists eased, and those tensed fingers of hers relaxed.
"Huff… huff… huff…" And as soon as her breathing had slowed, she looked up at me with a pouty look. "Can't you hold back more? I can barely even land a hit on you… it's so fucking unfair!" She shouted.
Normally, I would have reprimanded her for cursing, but I had already bullied her enough with this match, so I decided to just slowly comfort her to relaxation.
