The Rise of Quetzalcoatl

Chapter 264: Reunited

All of a sudden, snowmen came crawling out of the icy layer that I had spread below, seemingly to make the necromancer slip up.

"This is the true power of this skill," I muttered with a smile as the snowmen gripped onto the necromancer, shocking him as he didn't expect this in the slightest.

He panicked a bit and unleashed a wave of flames… that I quickly slipped through and stabbed the necromancer straight in the chest.

"Girl… I'm already dead."

"Who said I was trying to pierce a heart?"

All of a sudden, my sword split into hundreds of green flames that began to spread within the body of the necromancer.

He was a bit shocked at first but, of course, followed through by spreading ice within his body, allowing me a chance to freeze the rest of his minions and the fire giant we were currently on.

"Huh? Where… Where did he go?" I muttered to myself upon glancing back at where the necromancer should be… but he was gone.

I attempted to sense him, but it was like he had disappeared into thin air, never to be seen again before us.

"Dammit… he ran… he was just toying with me the entire time… DAMMIT!" I shouted before stomping down on the frozen fire giant, causing it to shatter like a glass pane.

All of its shards fell to the forest below, spreading amongst my soldiers, who began to swing and kick at it as the adrenaline continued to surge through them.

"HALT!" I shouted at the top of my lungs, and Cora instantly relayed it to the rest of the army.

"HALT!"

"EVERYONE! THE BATTLE IS OVER! VICTORY IS OOOOOOOOOOOOURSSSSSSSSS!" I shouted at the top of my lungs once again and flew down next to Cora, who looked a bit annoyed.

"Why didn't you do that from the beginning? We could've stopped more lives from being lost if you went all out,"

"Well… I'm… about… to faint…." I muttered after deactivating it and stumbling into a pair of warm arms that graciously accepted me.

"Excuse me? Who are you? If you're an adventurer, please go back to the guild and help rebuild the city. Actually, help escort the citizens back into a safe place-"

Cora was interrupted by a tall and slender woman who had silky long dark purple hair, reptilian pink pupils, and a pair of draconic horns protruding from the top of her head.

I glanced upwards from my drowsy state as all the mana in my body had been drained once again… and the drawback of using such a powerful skill began.

My lungs exhaled air as I screamed in agony from the fiery feeling burning up each and every nerve residing in my body.

But, a soft and slender hand shifted over my face, calming me down and letting me breathe easy as my mind numbed in tandem with my body.

"You did a great job holding out,"

I snapped my eyes open and cocked my body forward, only to bang my head against a hard skull that nearly made my forehead bleed.

"Ouch…" I grumbled before slowly opening my eyes and seeing a slightly different-looking but still familiar face.

I choked up on my saliva as the face slowly shifted into a warm smile, almost stopping my breathing as the woman lifted her slender hand to cup my left cheek.

"You're as beautiful as ever, Lucy," The woman muttered, and this time, tears flowed from my eyes, and all the pained experiences that I had gone through seemingly melted away.

She brought me into her grasp, which was warmer than ever, placing my head against her chest, allowing me to rest and nearly fall back asleep.

"Now, now. You can sleep some more if you want. I was just having too much fun watching your adorable sleeping face,"

"Mia… I love you… I love you… I love you…." I continued to cry into her chest, and I soon felt her own tears drip onto my hair from above.

"I love you more," She muttered before kissing the top of my head lightly.

"H-How did you get here? And, is this your new evolution? You lost your muscularity, but you're so pretty that I can't take my eyes off you,"

As I pulled away, Mia stared deep into my swollen eyes with a genuine and warm smile that made my heart pound once again.

It felt as if I had fallen in love with my girlfriend once again.

"It's a long story, so let's talk some more over some breakfast. I'm sure you're starving," Mia whispered into my ear upon me, forcing a hug again.

She, of course, graciously received me like I was but a child in her arms, and that thought reminded me of something.

Creeeeeek

"Mia, I want a baby,"

Just as I muttered those words, Clio and Ethel came into the room, attempting to check up on us and possibly bring us some coffee.

"Oh? What is this I'm seeing? Are we going to need to go to an adoption center soon?" Ethel chuckled while blocking my limp punches.

After handing Mia her coffee and setting mine on the table, she spread out her arms and invited me in for a hug which I obviously accepted.

"You all look amazing," I muttered with glimmering eyes as not only had Mia evolved but also Ethel and Clio.

Ethel had a long slender body with blue reptilian eyes and long aqua-colored hair, but her ears had turned into that of a mermaid, only enhancing her beauty more.

Clio, on the other hand, had a bit more muscle, but it wasn't over the top like the Tiana from this plane. But, on top of that, she had sandy pupils and long brown hair, which matched perfectly with her chocolate skin.

"You do as well. You're pretty muscular like Clio," Ethel chuckled.

"Well, I actually had to work for this. She probably got that from her evolution, right?" I quickly refuted.

"Ahem! Seriously!? That's the first thing you say about me?!"

"Well, you look beautiful, but Mia is more beautiful than both of you combined. Neither of you can compare," I proudly announced while puffing out my chest, only to be wrapped in Clio's arms that were so soft I almost melted into her grasp.

"Ah, you're such a cute little sister," Clio muttered while petting my head.

"Don't call me cute. I'm a badass warrior," I muttered but couldn't bring myself to tear my head away from Clio's warm grasp.

"Well, your expression doesn't match your description," Clio chuckled before setting me back down on the bed, where I flinched slightly.

"Ugh… Haven't I recovered yet? My regeneration increased after evolving, so I thought it would be done by now," I muttered to myself, but Mia continued to console me.

"The doctors said it was because you spent so much mana that your body is focused on recovering it. You probably just have mana sickness, for now, so don't go using any skills yet," Mia smiled before bringing me in for another hug.

We cuddled for another thirty minutes while Clio and Ethel went outside to explore the capital of the dukedom we were currently in.

"Wait, what happened to my ar-"

"Cora took care of the army. She seems like a pretty nice character… I hope you weren't too close, though," Mia muttered with sharp eyes, and I shuddered underneath her gaze.

"Of course not! I even went to a club where everybody kept trying to hit on me because I was so pretty. But guess what? I declined everybody because I'm loyal only to you,"

"I was just joking," Mia chuckled before helping me get out of bed.

I guess my regeneration needs stamina and mana to work properly… I guess that's a fair trade-off for such a powerful skill.

"Oh yeah, Lucy… about what you said earlier… are you serious about it? Do you really want to have a child?"

"Yeah, why?"

Mia looked a bit shocked at my blatant stare, but it then turned to a chuckle once again as she grabbed my hand and twirled me in the middle of the hallway.

"If that is what you want, we can make a baby instead of adopting one… but first, allow me to explain everything that we have been through,"
